I ordered grilled chicken cubes ended up with the shredded style served by Halal food trucks on top of very dry rice. The second order was supposed to be beef on rice, i could not swallow even the first bite. To begin with, the place is known by many names. Food is Arabic, I believe closer to Yemeni as the area is now known as lilttle Yemen. I had the classic beef and chicken kebab as a Gyro but I made it to a point to have it made to my specs. Good place for a take away! read more

No frills type of restaurant but the food holds a lot of flavor. For the price you're paying, you get a large portioned, flavorful meal. I've come here multiple times for lunch during the week days, and I haven't been disappointed once. My favorite is probably the roast and the chicken kabob with rice and veggie stew. The green chutney on the side is BOMB. The hummus is really really great as well! This place is a small spot with basic kafta kebabs, rice, salad, hummus and chicken kebabs. Nothing fancy, just fresh kebabs cooked on the grill. I got the kefta kebab, a bit too thin, and chicken kebab which was tasty with rice/salad. Check them out if you're in that area. read more

Pretty good falafel sandwiches for $4. Good deal, and you can add spicy fries and a drink for a couple bucks more. I mostly come here for their lamb and hummus + pita meal, which is really delicious! The workers are all super friendly and accommodating. I've probably eaten here at least 20 times since I worked nearby, haha. read more

What the falafel. This had to have been the best falafel I've ever had. Whenever I visit a Halal shop I'm always getting the falafel since I'm vegetarian and that's about all I can order. This seriously was the best! It was moist unlike most places that have it so hard and dry. The rice smelled and tasted so wonderful. The white sauce was not the regular one you see. Everything was awesome. But... If you have any decency... You will try the pistachio baklava. I've never had baklava so good except for in Philly at the Reading Market. Anyway, see this is what I like about little mom n pop places, the food is always spot on. I just really hope this is a norm for them and that they're always this freaking good. Haven't been here in a while, came in to try the sweets: pistachio, walnut and sweet cheese baklava as well as the malabiya, which is usually my favorite. The baklavas were pretty good, but the malabiya needed to be sweeter, creamier and more fragrant with the wonderful smell of rose water. I also had the lamb chops, which smelled fantastic and according to the picture on the wall for $12.99 I thought they'd be succulent grilled pieces of meat but they were small, thin and over done pieces, which made them tough and dry. The 3 chops are served on rice which was seasoned well but needed a sauce or something to help with the dryness of the dish. Everytime I come in here the man behind the counter is super nice and I really wish I could like the food but I haven't really enjoyed the dishes I've tried even though I love Arabic food, also I still can't get over the taste of that strong over powering olive oil they use in the salad as well as the hummus. read more

My friend who is Arab took me here and ordered for us. Surprisingly this place has excellent food for a hole-in-the-wall type place. I've passed here a million times and never thought to go in. The falafel is great- moist and green, which means they use a lot of parsley to make it very flavorful. Compare that to falafel from the food trucks which often times are dry, bready and yellow. I've been looking for great falafel in the area, and this is definitely the place. The bamya (lamb and okra in a red sauce) is excellent as well, great flavor and tender. The pita is hot, fresh and fluffy, and went great with the hummus and foal (spelling?) which was filling and bursting with flavor as well. I have had 3 experiences with this restaurant. 1. The first time food came with no issue, taste was great, great price 2. I ordered and the delivery time kept getting pushed until 2 hours after my order, when it was cancelled. I found out through email. When I called, the restaurant said seamless had not sent a delivery driver. That's fine, but this restaurant offers delivery and yet they made no effort to have the food delivered. 3. Today, I tried to give this place another shot, but when I called to place the delivery, they said they don't deliver to my address and hung up. I live 5 minutes away. That doesn't make any sense. This restaurant is pretty good. My main staple order is their charcoal chicken with rice. I order their 1/2 chicken order, and the meal itself is always tasty, basic, and filling. They give large orders, and prepare food quickly. I always get it "to-go"/as a "take-out" order, and it remains warm/in good shape on the way home. The food reheats well, and there's usually so much i'll end up being able to split one meal into two. It comes with pita bread, and cucumbers mixed with tomatoes alongside it. The pita bread is great, as I like pita bread. The cucumbers mixed with tomatoes I'll admit leaving to itself, as i'm not a big fan of tomatoes and don't want cucumbers to go with that particular meal. I'm sure others enjoy it though/it's possibly a traditional middle eastern side, as they probably think to add it as a side for those reasons. In all I give this place 4 stars, and recommend others try it in the future. For 14 dollars you get this " family size mixed grill " it's just a small takeout plate with white rice & a couple pieces of meat totally not worth it since me & my family have been fasting all day we ordered three of these for 24 people thinking it's more then enough & it Barley fed one person per plate so we had to make some of our own food for the visitors, really embarrassed.... love their food but sometimes they can rip you off to the extreme since we got it for delivery we didn't really know the size until the last minute , still recommended from me and my family because the food is amazing I just don't like what they did in this situation. read more

Once upon a time I thought the Bronx hated anything that wasn't Kennedy Fried Chicken, Caridad, or some other dumb bulletproof-windowed eatery. Then as it happens, as I contemplate a move to Jersey, this falafel/kebab spot opens up. I have a bad habit of moving out of neighborhoods just when great food and shopping options start opening up. And this was no exception. Pita bread is as fluffy and fresh as any Lower Manhattan middle eastern joint and the Chicken Kebabs sandwiches have that kick that'll really make you feel good about not having to take the 5 train for an hour just to get that same fix in the city. And the falafels are good enough to make this carnivore not worry a bit the day the world's meat supply is forever tainted. Don't sleep my Bronx brethren...put down that chicken mcnugget and head out to Morris Park for a chicken kebab wrap. I just got a falafel pita and although I'm not used to the falafel's being rolled in the pita, it was pretty good. Usually, falafels' are stuffed in the pita but this was good. For me, living in Washington Heights, Manhattan, close to Yeshiva University - I've been spoiled by the real-deal falafel and shwarma pita's and lafa's, etc. from Golan Heights - which is in my opinion - the best of the best. So that's my standard/reference point. This is the only option for authentic middle eastern food, that I know of in the Bronx. I will definitely go back and try more dishes. read more

Best spicy fries EVER! Serving sizes yield Big! I usually order Gyro meat with Spicy Fries. They are usually so generous with the amount, I usually end up sharing my plate. Desserts are delicious. I've never had anything like it. They offer these caramelized coconut squares, pistachio puffs and some other, colorful stuff i haven't tried yet. All for a $1 each. Menu Variety is great. I've also tried their hot wings and chicken sandwiches. Which has also been a great experience. Friendly Staff. I've never had a problem with any of them. They have a great, genuine charm. However, there can be room for improvement with their telephone communication. Areas for improvement: I would love a better dine-in experience. However, even though there are a few tables, it does seem like it's primarily a take out spot. Phone communication. There have been a few occasions where they've slightly messed up my order. (i.e. giving me a gyro sandwich when i asked for loose gyro meat.) Menus can be clearer. It's hard to try new things when you can't understand the menu. Being the only Falafel spot in the Bronx (Riverdale does not count) helps of course. However food is good, especially the Hummus. The prices are reasonable and service is good. My only issue is that it closes early compared to most falafel spots (24 hrs !!) so I stil have to trek to manhattan for late nite falafel. We came to this place as I was going to visit the Bronx Zoo with my middle eastern friend. I ordered Sheesh Tawook (chicken on a skewer) and he ordered Kofta (spicy mincemeat on a skewer). Both of us were satisfied with the food. The prices were quite decent, even the soda and water were sold at a reasonable price. My friend had some salty yogurt drink which tastes pretty strange. He said he was 'surprised to see that one on the other side of the ocean'. The only thing I can complain about was that they were soon closing the shop temporarily because they had to pray. Therefore we had to finish hastily. But the guy warned us beforehand, so we knew what was coming. Food is delicious and inexpensive. However, the "Fried Eggplant" and "Fried Cauliflower" on the menu are not this. They are simply smaller-sized containers of "Eggplant Salad" and "Cauliflower" on the menu. The "Fried Egglpant" is sauteed and tossed with carrots, onions and peppers in an oily vinaigrette and served cold. The "Fried Cauliflower" is roasted and then tossed with carrots, onions, peppers and a spicy vinaigrette served cold. We had a large order delivered and assumed this was just a mistake. We called back (twice) and they confirmed that the "Fried" items are the same as the "Salad" items, just smaller portions. That is weird and not good labeling on the menu. They did offer to make "Fried" items next time by special order. read more
