I first want to say that I have a credit rating of between 798 - 801. Secondly, I am a US Army…read moremilitary widow, US Army veteran. Recently, I paid the $75.00 administrative fee, provided necessary supporting financial documents, and paid a holding fee of $150.00. Only to be informed 48 hours later that instead of the minimum $500.00 security deposit, I would, under "certain conditions," be allowed to rent the apartment if I paid the amount of $1282.00 security deposit, which is the monthly rental amount. Why? Because they can not pronounce my name. As a result, I must be a foreigner and pay the price of them not caring that I am indeed a United States Citizen. A US Army Veteran, a Military widow, so my sacrifice to this country is extensive. There is a scam going on. The entry scam is charging a potential rental applicant a holding fee, which is only returned if they reject you. Had I known that I would be required to pay one month's rent in a security deposit, I would have saved time, gas, and money. What would someone have to pay if their credit rating were 500-600? What would they pay if they had an eviction under their belt? What would they have to pay if they needed a co-signer? Why advertise a minimum security deposit amount if a full month's rent is required? The holding fee is nonrefundable unless they deny you. At the bare minimum, they get $225.00 from a prospective renter right out of the gate. So, if you want to throw money at them, accept their terms and live for the duration of your lease, knowing you have been and are being scammed by Tanglewood Apartments. The scam at the end of your lease is no way you are going to receive the full amount paid in your security deposit. Tanglewood Apartments in Southern Pines, NC, is supposed to be military friendly, not located in Fayetteville, NC, but an easy commute. Avoid TANGLEWOOD APARTMENTS at all costs. Particularly if you are affiliated with the military. Unless you want to be ripped off! At the bare minimum, $225.00.

If you don't mind getting woken up at 12 am & 3 am, then I guess it's for you. Can't even get decent sleep because of other people. I just hope you don't have children or any babies. You try to make a complaint, don't expect anything to be done. (I've been complaining for 6+ months now & nothing) Anywhere from $1,500-$2,000 + for basic 1-2 bedroom apartments with cheap, old appliances & equipment. If I would have known it would get worse, we wouldn't have renewed our lease, & move somewhere quieter & cheaper. I don't think we'll be renewing our lease again. Not if things continue how they're going right now... Once you sign or renew your lease, all they care or want after if your money. I don't want my child around this environment. Pools nice, when it's open 2 months out of the Year. But might be closed on a Sunny day due to "weather". There's also tons of bugs & variety of bugs. We've used sticky traps, hotels, had pest control come out a few times, even bought bombs & ended up using the whole box. It's like we did nothing though. There's cracks & crevices they crawl in and out of. Seems like there's no end or killing them. From Big to Small, they're everywhere. & They ruin all your stuff & furniture

I lived here and was one of the first tenets in the entire complex. These people treat you like…read moregold to get you in, then once you miss a payment by a day because of financial reasons or travel restrictions they charge you 20% added to your already over priced rent. They make it clear that the rent you pay does not dictate the amenities of the complex and only pays for the apartment you live in. This means that if there is a problem with the trash, or the pool, or the gym, or anything outside the apartment you live in, you have absolutely no say in when or what should be done about it. They are very nice homes with staff ready to help you but watch out for when you move out. Depending on which floor plan you choose, the security deposit is a whole months rent + 1st months rent + any pet deposits. And when you move out, you wont see a penny refunded back to you. In my case i payed 865.00+865.00+200.00 = 1930.00! they sent me a notice once I moved out documenting how they nickle and dime'd me for the brand new complex with absolutely nothing wrong with it. i spent an additional 200$ cleaning the carpets, fixing the holes, cleaning every square inch of that place and they still found things wrong with it. The majority of the problems were with the construction before I even moved in. This place is terrible. End of statement. -"Valued Tyler's Ridge EX-Resident"
