In terms of longevity, I will admit that I was familiar with Macy's back when it was Burdine's. I've never run into any issues shopping here, and the layout of the mall has always been easy to navigate. In terms of store variety there's plenty to pick from and depending on what's considered high-end to different people, there are designer stores so options are plentiful I'll also add that the food court has seen improvements over the years and the choice variety is excellent. You aren't just stuck with the same kind of food wearing a different label. In terms of appearance, the mall has seen it share of facelift and I know that it's premises are kept clean and there's always security, which is a nice touch during the holidays I have fun memories of shopping here and recently went for Mother's Day as I am not the one buying gifts: despite the nostalgia, the mall holds its own in terms of being a one stop shop for a variety of needs If you grew up in South Florida, you know that this is one of the two places to go when you need to try things on in person. If you are visiting and want to grab a quick bite or treat yourself, this is Also more than deserving of your time.

Kinda crazy when other malls are dying, this place had more customers than one round expect for a random weekday, non holiday nor summer. Parking was a butane. Most of the spaces were for valet, at least the section I needed to be in. All the other spots were taken , I had to circle around a couple of times until someone left. Insane kind of like it was Christmas or Black Friday. Clean bathrooms.

It was popular with tourists and locals until a decline in the 2000's due to more attractive competition in the area. After being sold several times it underwent a major renovation by Federal Realty and partners. The north wing of the mall was demolished to make way for offices. The Cheesecake Factory, Fat Tuesday and Victoria's Secret were replaced with independent boutiques, offices, and community spaces to better fit in with Coconut Grove's bohemian urban village. Other features added included a large open-air plaza, foliage, a mini waterfall, trees and a modern design intended to blend in with the surrounding Coconut Grove neighborhood. I came to Coconut Grove to attend the King Mango Strut Festival and while standing on the sidewalk in front of CocoWalk I saw a beehive of activity. I hadn't been here in years and I was surprised to see how nice it is. After the parade I stopped in to check it out and left impressed wit hthe changes that have been made. Cinepolis, the movie theater has stood the test of time and it is now joined by 3D Botanico Gin & Cookhouse, Brows, Blue Mercury, Chase, Chop, Coco Cigars, Edward Beiner, El Bagel, Europann-USA, Eva, FP Movement, Gas Bijoux, Infinity, Misterpi, Montce, Narbona, Planta Queen, Skinlab by Barba, sportive, Sushi Garage, Sweetgreen, School of Rock, The Spot Barbershop, and The Oyster Bar. In addition to beauty services, classes, dining, and shopping they also offer events in the courtyard like story time, music, and Pilates. After the parade I enjoyed an ice cream cone from Salt and Straw in the tropical, open-air courtyard. The lush landscaping, outdoor seating, and relaxed urban-village feel make this pleasant place in the Grove to hang out and pass time. If there is one large drawback to CocoWalk it would be that finding affordable parking in the Grove is always a challenge.

I especially love that the entire area is pet‑friendly. Each restaurant and store has its own vibe, making it easy to wander, explore, and refuel after all the walking. There's plenty of paid parking, and you can easily spend several hours here, especially if you enjoy people‑ or pet‑watching. A marina and park are just a short walk away, adding even more to do. You'll find a mix of locals and international visitors, which gives the place a lively, welcoming energy.
