The service was impeccable! We both had the Caesar salad had was delicious! My partner got the Tres Major steak with Yukon mashed potatoes and green beans and said it was amazing. Incredible flavor and very tender. I had the pan seared duck breast in a port reduction with Yukon mashed potatoes and green beans. This was beyond amazing.. the duck was tender and juicy and was in heaven!

We are staying in town and found this place on yelp. Can't say I am very impresse, the food is decent but not great. Saturday at 7 pm they are already out of the crab dip - popular iR ill-prepared? 1. The drunken shrimp is decent - light battered and flavorful. 2. Shrimp and grits was pretty good. A bit too spicy to my taste though. 3. Bacon wrapped scallops - $20 for 3 scallops, too pricy and it's nothing to rave about. It's ok but won't come back.

Delicious food esp the French onion soup. Cozy place and accompanied me for a large bd party 11 years ago. Not a huge menu though.

Everything came out hot and crispy, and both the fish and the shrimp had the lightest touch of batter so the seafood flavor really came through. We ordered extra sides (a steal at $3 each!) of mac and cheese and beans. You could make a meal out of the mac and cheese itself-it is a very generous portion of creamy, cheesy goodness! The standout for me of all the dishes was the baked beans. You have never had beans like this. Trust me. I rarely eat beans because they're often too sweet, but Papa's beans are only slightly sweet and laced with an amazing smokey flavor (they are cooked with smoked brisket). I'm excited to come back and try the collard greens! On top of all the fantastic food, Jamar, the owner and chef, came out to ask us about our meal, which was the highlight of our visit. You will not meet a nicer, more caring restaurant owner! He really cares about his customers and you can tell the food is made with heart. It is truly a family business, with Jamar's mom behind the counter and home cooked recipes on the menu. It is worth the wait to get food this good, so kick back with a beer at one of the tables outside while your food is being prepared with love! 5 stars for food, 10 stars for service. It's like going to someone's home for dinner. Pro Tip: You can't see Papa's from the road if you are on North Delphine. It is on the backside of the mini-market on the corner (you may see the picnic tables on the side-that's where Papa's is!).

My wife and I stopped in and got two chicken sandwiches. All and all these sandwiches alone demonstrated a keen eye for quality. The chicken was tender and the breading has a good flavor. For the food, it was very pretty! It is definitely made with love! Just... not a ton of flavor. The in-house Honey Dutch syrup was sweet but not the in the traditional way that one associates with vanilla and they don't offer any other alternatives so I don't recommend ordering the French Toast as they are quite dry. They would have been lovely with tbe SMALLEST amount of syrup. The fruit portion was incredibly generous however. My partner's breakfast plate was again, underwhelming but not bad.

The space itself gives you a family bar feeling. Looks like it would be a great locals spot. They had enough tables for any size groups and it was very clean. For appetizers we had the fried pickles and pork rinds. I'd give the fried pickles a 2/5, they had flavor but lacked crunch. The breading was missing on 80% of the pickle. The pork rinds, FRIEND, those were probably the highlight of my meal. The sizzle and pop, the crunch, flavor...I'm drooling just thinking about them again. I don't think I can ever have them from a bag again. 5/5 Main Coarse we ordered the mac-n-skilled with pulled pork, the kids chicken taco with tots, brisket stuff shells, and brisket Philly cheesesteak with a side of hush puppies. Mac-n-skillet, the meat was a tad bit dry but had a good amount of cheese. Creamy. Only downside was the pork. 3.5/5. The Brisket Philly was cheesy, meat was good, great flavor just a bit too greasy. Hush puppies were good, nothing stood out in particular. 4/5. The kids chicken taco and tots were ok. Not enough cheese and the tortilla was hard, tots were just right. 3.5/5. The brisket stuffed shells were unique, loved the flavor just a bit too much cheese to meat ratio for me personally. The brisket was cooked perfectly. Would order again. 5/5 We were in and out in less than an hour. We were never rushed and the atmosphere was warm. The prices are reasonable as well.

I appreciated the selection of local beers on draft too. Found prices to be very reasonable these days. Next, the sides are out of this world. The green beans and collard greens really compete with the best Grammy homemade ones. Mac and cheese, hush puppies, and chicken tenders were on point. I thought the portion sizes were good for $3 sides. I had the ahí tacos and a side of brisket. lol. I wanted to try the brisket! The tacos has a nice flavor with an excellent sauce but the tuna was unseasoned. The biggest issue is the taco sat in juices from the toppings and became soggy quickly. A little easier on the toppings and it would be a really good dish. The brisket. Man if you hype up your bbq it better be on point. It was not. Crazy crazy dry and not really tender either. I got the flavor they intended with the oak smoke but that was really poorly cooked brisket. If you can find a good main dish everything else is lined up for a great meal. Maybe make a meal of the sides? :)

It wasn't very crowded, maybe 6 or 7 other tables with 2-4 people each. You had to pre-order your prime rib to ensure they had one for you. Not wanting the prime rib, I ordered the pork chop dinner along with the two sides. They were out of pork chops. They asked what else I would like, I asked if they would do the prime rib at the pork chop price, about a $15 difference. They (the server) said no. The only other choice was sandwiches or a shrimp scampi. I didn't want either, so I just asked if I could get the sides instead (a baked potato and asparagus). She said she would put the order in. When the food came out, all I ended up with was my appetizer (6 oysters Rockefeller). I asked about the side and was told by yet another waitress that they don't do that. Three different waiters/waitresses. No manager ever came over. Way over priced (1 shrimp scampi -$32, one half Caesar salad - $6, one half order (6 anorexic) oysters Rockefeller-$19, 2 good old fashions - $30 plus a mandatory 20% gratuity. I still had to stop on the way home to get something to eat. Poor management and exorbitant pricing makes for a poor business model. But I guess the members get a pretty steep discount so they gouge the non-members to keep the doors open. Not likely to go back and would definitely NOT put my name on any kind of recommendation for this place. Spend your money elsewhere, anywhere, just not here.

Well thank goodness I finally decided to nip in to 3rd Generations Grill last evening for a hot meal and a cold beer after a long day. I was quite happy with the experience. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but the dining room is large, open, and features a nice bar at the back with a decent selection of draft beer (sadly no dark options for the porter- and brown ale-loving crowd) and sundry spirits. The walls are plastered with rock & roll posters (they get extra credit for the Ziggy Stardust poster on the left side of the room as you enter) and the space is clean and well lit without being antiseptic and blazing. I think with a larger crowd (it was a bit sparse on my visit) the room could be a bit loud, so if quiet is your thing maybe plan for a low traffic time. After negotiating a workaround for the QR code-based online menu (I deduct a full star if that's my only option for ordering because I think it's poor service), I ordered the Generator burger from my very friendly, helpful, and service-forward bartender. What's great is I told him what I was looking for and he competently guided me to one of the best burgers I've had in a while. Double smashed patty, double bacon, cheese, onion. I added lettuce and tomato because I want to dupe myself into believing I had a vegetable that evening. Comes with side of their hand-cut fries and is a hearty portion of well prepared food. When I say this is a two-handed-eat-over-the-plate-like-a-caveman burger, that's exactly what it is. Thing is a monster of beautiful beef and bacon and cheese (sorry vegans, try again). Oh, and the food came out in good time--not fast food, but good food fast. I have a minor quibble with the fries which, while hand cut and nicely seasoned, were a bit under and kinda soggy. Not inedible, but could be better. I think if they blanched the fries before the final cook they'd achieve a crispier outside with that nice cushy potato centre you want in a French fry. But that's the only quibble. Service: six stars Food: four stars Ambiance: four stars Value: five stars I'll be going back again, for sure.
