This is a must-go-to if you are a plant lover. Stephen helped us out and took the time to explain what plants we could use considering our input. Note that the plants in the temperature controlled greenhouse don't tolerate freezes and have to be moved indoors when temps drop. They have every kind of plant, bush, and tree you need. read more

There are way too many plants to choose from here. Everything is nicely in its place in the greenhouse or outside. Great prices here that's why we travel from San Antonio to shop here. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back and see what they have next time. read more

I love this nursery. They have a tremendous selection of plants and they are grown on-site. This apparently makes them more affordable because their prices are less that the big box lumber store prices. We were helped by Stephen, who was very knowledgeable about the plants: which ones tolerate freezes, and other tid-bits. I came here last year and this is my to-go nursery. read more

Not that big of a selection and staff had no clue what was not a deers favorite type plant. We had more help from near by customers!

Parking is super simple. Place looks very maintained. So many plants to choose from. I purchased tomato and jalapeños plants and a sting of pearls ! They have different sizes and colors of pots. And everything you need for gardening! No one bothered me which I liked but then again I did have questions.. no one asked me if I had any. Lol Definitely recommend coming here for all your plant needs ! You might just have to ask read more

The Green Gate - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Seguin, Texas

Nice selection of affordable plants. High quality vegetable plants including tomatoes and peppers.

Unfortunately I have to update my original review after being unable to purchase trees at the Green Gate. The place is still very pretty and the plant variety is great, but customer service is lacking. My husband and I came today to purchase a tree. We asked about paid delivery - not available. We asked about purchasing the tree today and coming back with a larger vehicle to pick it up as soon as possible - not possible. What IS possible, exactly? Apparently, they only rely on a first come, first serve basis and they won't hold anything aside for their paying customers, not even for a few hours. This is upsetting as large trees can only be carried in a truck, impossible to fit in a sedan, small SUV or hatchback. It's also very upsetting to be turned down. Apparently our money is no good here. Since our business is not wanted, we'll be shopping elsewhere for our future plant needs, sadly. Goodbye Green Gate. read more

Awesome selection of plants and garden decor, the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. I absolutely recommend for your plant and decor needs. read more

Absolutely gorgeous and grand nursery. They have a vast variety throughout the seasons. They always have hard to find plants in the greenhouse, as well. If you're looking for a gift, they have a large selection of pots and will put a bow on it for you. In addition, their staff is always friendly and welcome. read more

Wonderful selection and very helpful staff. Received some very helpful unsolicited advice on the winter care of a hanging bougainvillea I purchased. The prices are reasonable, compared to most of the artsy-fartsy new age plant stores. read more

selection is good, not exceptional. staff was unhelpful and young, very uninterested in helping me, had bad attitude. Theit hours stayed open until five pm but the kid that helped me put up the closed sign at 4pm. I didn't find that surprising after having dealt with him in the store. I'd come back if they had a better selection but not the hidden gem others talked about on here. read more

I love this nursery! My husband and I make the drive from New Braunfels just to come here and buy plants. They have a selection of plants to choose from, from rare plants to fruit trees to herbs and cacti. Everytime we come here, we end up buying more and more plants. Their upkeep on their greenhouse is excellent. They always restock and have something new to look forward for. I've bought a pitcher plant, orange tree, variegated syngoniums, and succulents from here. They also have a selection of pots to choose from. While you are here make sure to walk thru every aisle, it's so lovely to look around and see what they offer. I also love their greenhouse, lots of plants on display from the ceilings and walls. They also can report and add a ribbon to your plant if you are purchasing it as a gift. They have lots of arrangements to choose from. Based on all the nurseries I've been to in TX, they are reasonably priced. Definitely come here if you like house plants - they literally have all the types you can think of from snake plants, fig trees, alocasias, orchids, and much more. Highly suggest to come by, you never know what you'll end up being home! read more

This place has the best selection of unusual plants I have ever seen outside of a botanical garden. The friendly staff told me they were only about 40% stocked for the season. I wish I could come back when they are at 100%. If you love exotic tropical plants this place is definitely worth a visit. read more

Awesome selection, wish they had more stuff labeled with prices/plant info. So worth the drive from San Antonio.

This is such a great place to get your plants and vegetables here. We make it a point to get here as often as possible

All year long but especially spring- this is a weekly+ stop. They have worked to bring the highest quality plants at the best price. They are super friendly also very good at giving gardening tips. read more

Amazing plant nursery, such variety. They had lots of indoor houseplants and various outdoor plants; pots and anything plant you can think of. I was driving from San Marcos to Austin, now that i know of this place I will only come here. I went for a neon pothos $6 and discovered a swiss cheese plant $12, i had to buy both. read more

The Green Gate - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Seguin, Texas

Let me start by saying this is one of the best nurseries in Seguin TX for indoor houseplants. I've found multiple rare plants here and their prices are so reasonable! That being said, after purchasing multiple rare plants from here once I brought them home, they all rapidly declined. After inspecting them multiples of them simply didn't have any roots at all! They were just cuttings inside the pots. Now I don't mind rooting plants myself but I wish they wouldn't be sold in that condition. Especially since they're not marketed in that way. Just a heads up, check the roots before buying! read more

I LOVE Green Gate Nursery! It was my third time here and the selection is amazing. I wish there was a larger selection of trees, but it may have been the timing of my visit. The staff was knowledgeable and very helpful. 5 Stars!!!! read more

Love love love this place! We were recommended by a friend, so we took the drive from Round Rock and it was soooo worth it! Their selection was on point and so are the prices. I walked with everything I wanted plus more. Then when I went to check out, I was surprised by their huge gift shop and seed area. The staff was so so helpful and gave some great advice. I will definitely be back and sending my friends as well! read more

HANDS DOWN the best nursery in central texas for house plants. Amazing prices for what they're selling. It's honestly jaw-dropping. Do yourself a favor and make the trip down there. read more

For years I have been buying at Green Gate plant nursery in Sequin Tx; today I was disappointed when I realized what was going on with the pricing. In the beginning I thought it was an innocent error... but realized it was not innocent. When you pick up the plant from the shelf the sign says one price, the plant has the same price; but when you check out they change the pricing to almost double. When I confronted the older Cashier probably the owner; I read her as being caught red handed; she got defensive and upset that I asked her to remove it from my bill. Then as she kept ringing up my other plants it happen again and again. I finally told her to remove them. She was irate. I give this nursery from a 1 to 10 score; ten being the highest a 0. Stealing is stealing. As I left; it happen to the person behind me. read more

Great little nursery. Their succulent and cactus selection is beyond any nursery's I've seen. Worth the drive.

I love this nursery. Its a great place for houseplants but dont bother if you are looking for outdoor plants. My only complaint is they dont label most of them. They say its to save costs, but I would buy a lot more if I knew what I was buying! Other nursuries dont have this issue! When I checked out the woman didn't know but 2 of them. Another guy came in and id'd the rest but one id was incorrect and I am still trying to figure out what I purchased. read more

Unbelievable that I'm the first! Green Gate is an incredible find. They get new stock fairly frequently of perennials, herbs, vegetables, and tropicals. Their tropicals/succulents greenhouse is enormous and packed with rare or hard to find varieties of hoyas, philodendrons, dracaena, epiphyllums, cactus, and everything in between. Now, they don't carry orchids, but with the selection of plants they offer, you'd never know the difference! Not only do they have a stupendous selection of plants (where else can you find a blooming stephanotis???) their prices almost seem criminally low! They are currently charging just $1 for pretty much anything in a 4" pot. A friend bought a gorgeous mixed 6" container of shade coleus (at least 7 varieties) for $3. I've also never seen as many shades of bougainvillea as they carry...and everything is so healthy and transplants so well...which can definitely NOT be said about all nurseries! I almost hesitate posting a review because then other people will know if it's existence...but then I can't help bragging about such an awesome establishment. read more

This nursery never disappoints! They have the biggest selection of houseplants I've seen around here! Everything from common to rare and they also have a bunch of outdoor plants and herbs! Definitely worth the drive!!! read more

healthy plants for great prices! I love all my little plant babies I've gotten from here.

I drove for two hours to pick up a plant I had called about and was told they had in stock, got there and they wouldn't sell me any bc they were in a back greenhouse. Guess I'm confused why I was told yes before I made the trip, don't waste your time if you're looking for something specific or rare. The staff is rude and blame the owner for not being able to sell anything, I won't be making the trip again. read more

Great selection of flowers and good service. Can't believe more people haven't reviewed yet. If you live in town or are just driving through you should stop you won't be disappointed. read more

It seems like the Green Gate has a new lease on life. Maybe new owners or a new manager? The last time I went there were a lot of really attractive plants up front, and the big greenhouse behind the shop has all kinds of wonderful goodies. I've been getting my plants there for years. It's a central Texas gem! read more

I spoke with someone on the phone who said they would be more than happy to talk with me about what plants would be best to planT around my new pool. I drove 50 miles and because the most knowledgeable person was still on vacation, I was told to speak with the owner. Rather than help me, she suggested in a very smart elic manner that I hire a professional landscape architect. I was stunned at her lack of willingness to show me her inventory and give me simple pointers so that I could spend $1000 at her nursery. Never again will I go there. And she was apparently the boss read more

Please be careful shopping here - lots of obstructions and uneven walkways - and if you should fall like I did today - not one of the employees acknowledged me - so I managed to gather myself up and leave and will never go back again - getting hurt is not worth a plant - dangerous shopping - little regard for safety- yes I know it's a nursery but definitely needs some training and clean up read more

The stock of nursery products are amazing and beautiful with five stars. One Star: ...beware when you check out! Double check your receipt and watch the price when they ring it up. I've been double charged before. After talking with them, they know a problem exists, but not sure anything will be done about it. BEWARE read more

The Green Gate is a commercial nursery that offers the usual offerings plus a very wide variety of propagated succulents and cacti that go beyond the average selections. If you grow and propagate exotic succulents and cacti take some time and go through the tropical greenhouses. We visit Seguin from Austin a couple of times a month and Green Gate makes the highlight of the drive. Note: the iPhone and iPad mapping is now correctly locating the site due south of intersection 123 bypass and business 90(Court Street). Advice: allot 30 minutes for a visit and do visit the antique roses. There are three or four acres of producing green houses. I would rate GG as one of the best nurseries in U.S. . I propagate epiphylum( Queen of the Night) and this the only nursery I have found offering rooted cuttings. read more
