The great lawn is in the middle of central park somewhat. It is accessible from the east and west side. Many people play baseball/softball here on the field too. On nice days many people come here to picnic as well. There are also sometimes concerts that are held on the lawn. The walking path around the great lawn is great too and always have people walking it.

The Great Lawn and Sheep Meadow are two of my favorite lay-down/picnic spots in Central Park during the warmer days. The Great Lawn however isn't as crowded compared to Sheep Meadow. It's a great place to chill and relax and bring any games you wish to play or just chill and relax with music and/or a book.

I had to cut through this park to get to a restaurant and I realized that I haven't been to this park in years. It was a beautiful day so it was filled with walkers, joggers and dog walkers but it was relatively clean. I felt like I was no longer in the city but was somewhere upstate with wide open space and beautiful greenery.

One big green lawn smack dab in the middle of Central Park. It's like the anchor of NYC, and represents it's melting pot of all those who live here. During the summer you'll find people of all backgrounds enjoying life. Picnicking, listening to music, getting a tan, hanging with friends and family. I've met up with friends here many times. It's a gem of a spot, but make sure you arrange a meeting point as it seems to go on forever.

End of May...quite warm in full sun but no bugs yet, is absolutely ideal. Trust. I try to stay far away from the football throwers and frisbee players but without fail they slowly gravitate towards me. That and the drones are the only annoying things. Most people keep the music to a minimum. There's a little weed smoking, technically not allowed but people are respectful about it. People still leave their trash though. C'mon guys. C'mon. Even on a spectacular Saturday, in May it's not crowded. It's perfection and one of the best parts of NYC.

The Great Lawn is a big open area in the middle of Central Park. It has a few baseball fields. There's often something going on. If it's not baseball it's a concert. This also is good to just relax. Early in the morning there isn't so much going on here. A few people are wandering around. The afternoons are popular for playing baseball games. On some nights there's other activities. This past week was the Global Citizen Festival. It happens every year in September and the place gets so crazy. There's tens of thousands of people. It had issues with security this year, but that's an issue with the park staff, and not this area. The area itself is good for a concert, and other activities in general terms. It's good for playing baseball. It's also good for concerts. This is also fun just to walk around through.

Beautiful green grass stretched between East and West Central Park. Lots of ball fields to play the American Sport. Fun and frolic can be had any season of the year. As for me, I'm just passing through. This is a great way for me to conveniently move from East Side to West. I don't know why but the walk goes so much faster. Maybe because there's less foot traffic or twists and turns in the pathway. To me it's faster than when I cross the park at 96th Street. You'll be able to sit on a bench to rest if you like. You can see exquisite trees. My cousin just informed me trees talk to each other. I hugged them in my youth. I love the trees around the Great Lawn. You can see the skyline around the park from here too. I've taken photos for you. History has been made on the Great Lawn. Concerts and films too numerous to mention. You can do the research. I'm a fan. You must visit the Great Lawn when you're in Central Park. Hold your arms up to the sky above and run as fast as you can from one end to the other. That's about the most freedom you'll ever get in Manhattan!!

Once you arrive, there is a perimeter sidewalk with multiple entrances. There are tables and chairs to sit at as well as benches and in the center, there is a big open grassy area where you can lay out a blanket and relax. Within the park, there are many table top type games that are also communal. There are some historic statues in the park as well as an abundance of signage to help you navigate this pretty large park. I enjoyed my visit and look forward to coming back as the people watching was excellent and everyone was friendly.

Bryant Park in Manhattan has a rich, quirky history and many surprising secrets -- from its days as a poor person's cemetery to hosting over 12 million visitors a year. Between 1823 and 1840, the site was a potter's field -- a burial ground for the city's indigent. Bodies were later moved to Wards Island, and the land became the Croton Distributing Reservoir. The western lawn sits directly above underground stacks holding 3.2 million books and 50,000 reels of microfilm for the New York Public Library. In the 1920s, during subway construction, a replica of Federal Hall was built in the park to celebrate Washington's bicentennial In 1853, the New York Crystal Palace hosted a major world exhibition here. It burned down in 1858. Tesla spent time feeding pigeons in the park; one white bird allegedly inspired him. The park renamed 40th Street & 6th Avenue "Nikola Tesla Corner" in his honour. The Josephine Shaw Lowell Fountain - Visitors toss $3,000-$4,000 worth of coins yearly into this fountain, all going toward park maintenance. In winter, the park transforms into a Winter Village with an ice rink, shops, and restaurants -- built from scratch in just two weeks. Bryant Park is the most densely occupied urban park in the world, with daily visitors often exceeding 1,000 per acre. Guided tours reveal hidden mosaic installations and even a Buddha statue tucked away in the park.

They've since then cleared all that out and created a green and flowery oasis with pleasant concrete walkways that compliment the scenery of yachts, passenger ships and of course the Hudson River (avoid the bodies! Lol, I kid, I kid). I'm reviewing this as purely what it became for the past two weekends. An outdoor music venue. I came here Saturday night for Converse City Carnage featuring The Kills, Black Bananas and Viva Viva. As a venue it was pretty great! The sound was crystal clear, it felt kind of intimate, the weather was perfect. But seriously, can they not afford to find better security? There is a women on their security team (probably doesn't have anything to do with the Hudson River folks or Chelsea Piers for that matter...) but this woman was so incredibly bitter and I was quite happy-go-lucky when she accused me of yelling at her. She'd better hope I never see her again or I may go hulk smash on her. Looking forward to enjoying the greenery this park has, but this one security guard really marred my recent experience here - and I never really let someone affect me as much, but sometimes it only takes that one awful person...

It's a busy intersection where Broadway, Sixth Avenue (also called Avenue of the Americas), and 34th Street meet. This area is named after an old newspaper called the New York Herald. The newspaper used to have its main office here. The intersection is shaped like a bow tie. It has two main parts. The northern part is called Herald Square. The southern part is called Greeley Square. Herald Square has a huge mechanical clock. Its parts were built in 1895 by a sculptor named Antonin Jean Carles. This monument is called the James Gordon Bennett Monument. It features the Goddess of Wisdom, Minerva, with her owls. She stands in front of a large bell. Two bell ringers stand on each side of Minerva. The monument is made of Milford pink granite. The bell was designed to chime every hour. The two bronze figures are seven feet tall. They are nicknamed Stuff and Guff. They look like they are ringing the bell with their mallets. But actually, the bell is rung by mallets hidden behind it. These figures and the clock were first part of the 1894 New York Herald Building. When the building was torn down in 1921, the figures were saved. They were put back in Herald Square in 1940
