Wow - being fond of Indian food, I am checking out restaurants all over the world. Oslo is, along with Berlin, definitive a town to go to - besides the Punjab area :o)
I was there for lunch (lunsj) and attacked by some sign outside the restaurant. You step down into the basement of an typical Oslo building and the good smell of the tandoori oven invites you already. I guess it is a also a very cozy place to for dinner (middag)
Ordering is simple and can be done in Norwegian or English - for sure also in more Indian languages which I don't speak.
The food tastes like in good restaurants in India and the "spiciness" is somewhere between the more moderate style in Germany and the hotter one found in the United Kingdom. On request all other "levels" would have been possible.
The mango lassie was as expected and the food delicious and to the point.
In case of even colder weather than the day I visited the place additional electric heaters are held ready for your convenience. Me being very picky about the excess usage of air-condition and exaggerated ventilation was helped by kindly shutting down these devices for a while - mange takk!.
The lady who serves had a smile and was obviously aware that it is worthwhile working there.
The toilets are clean and spacy.
Go there! - is was the best Indian place I could find in Oslo so far (March 2011).
