Would rate zero stars. This is my first time back to this location since Mudpuppies moved. Let me first say that I was happy to learn that this business had a special day for Senior dogs, Sundays. I took my 13 year old Silkypoo and 5 year old Pomeranian in. They are about 14 pounds each so they are smaller and have had years of grooming. I should have known something was up when I arrived and I saw my oldest on the table, shaking badly. I thought maybe her age was making her anxious so I dismissed it and, at first glance, I saw nothing amiss. When I got home, we looked more closely because, frankly, the cuts did not look appropriate to the breeds. That's when we noticed the dogs trembling and saw a number of injuries to their bodies. The owner, Heather, claims to have groomed my fur babies and "takes pride" in her work. When I texted to say I wanted a full refund, Heather left me a voicemail asking for pics saying she wasn't saying I was lying (which is absolutely suggesting someone is lying) which I had already texted them immediately when I got home. My Pomeranian has been hiding for 2 days now. I have never had an experience like this before and will go back to Metro Mobile grooming who is worth every dime in their gentle handling of pups. If you choose this place, I wish your pups to be treated much better than mine were. read more

Their service was on the spot very responsive. I did not wait at all after coming in for my appointment. Overall appointment took around two hours total. My Shiba was well overdue for a brush out and had a ton of fur! He left looking so happy and comfortable. Then rushed him out super well and their pricing was great for the service they provided. I LOVE The Grateful Dog!! I have a border-doodle whose hair literally grows overnight and then mats and The Grateful Dog is always so great about getting him in for an appointment. I really appreciate that they never make me feel bad about his hair being in such a messy state. I feel like a terrible dog-mom for not being able to keep up with his hair! I followed Heather from her last grooming gig because I was so impressed with her grooming skills and Rex loves her! I'm amazed at the magic she can work on Rex's doodle-doo! She's also and is so sweet and friendly. She puts me and my dog at ease and works magic with his hair! John also works wonders with Rex's hair and making him feel welcome and calming his fears. He's a big baby and he's always nervous when he knows he's getting dropped off for a spa day. John is so good with him that Rex willingly goes with John and he's genuinely happy to see John! I have been stopping in when I get a chance to get my dogs nails trimmed. I've never been turned away from a walk in and the place is coming together. The theme of the shop is inviting and playful. I definitely recommend stopping in and give your dogs a spa day! read more

After a couple of successful sessions, I've been very disappointed since and I can no longer recommend The Grateful Dog. My last TWO scheduled appointments have not happened. The first of these instances I arrived at the groomer at my scheduled time, and they informed me that the groomer who had been working with my dog had been let go. Apparently they were unable to give me a heads-up of this change in advance. Although I wasn't happy, I agreed to reschedule for two weeks later when they could accommodate my dog. Two weeks later I arrive at The Grateful Dog for my 10am appointment (confirmed by automated text messages). I waited until 10:20 and even though the shop was supposed to be open - nobody was there. I wasn't notified of any issues with the appointment in advance either. I left a voice message for the shop and invited them the opportunity to make this right but have yet to hear back. I have no issues with their grooming, but they have proven to be an unreliable option, so I am done wasting my time at The Grateful Dog. read more

Our furbaby was throughly traumatized and injured at her grooming appointment. She had significant razor burns to her stomach and bottom. We took our furbaby to our veterinarian who gave us ointment to cover our furbabies injuries. We tried reaching out to grateful dog for reimbursement for vet and medication. My dog needed a nail trim so I brought her to the grateful dog. They were able to take walk in appointments from 10-2 (or 4pm) and they got us right in. All the staff are wonderful and caring, taking the time to do the job well but also only took about ten minutes. The shop smells clean and looks clean, really nice facility. This is the second or third time I've been here and will definitely be coming back. read more

I have taken my dog here three times, and each time it's a different price. I'm not sure why it's so inconsistent. The first two times my dog came out looking great but this last time I paid $90 with tip and when I got home I realized my dog still looks the same except for the bad chopping job on his chest. His behind still looks outgrown and "mop-like" and to top it off they messaged me the next day saying they forgot to do his nails and asked me to come back with him so they could finish, mind you it's a 20 minute drive. I'm usually not the type to write bad reviews but I'm looking into getting him groomed somewhere else because he still looks so outgrown after one week of his last appointment. After I left they told me that the girl who had done my dog was new and their "junior groomer" why am I being charge $70 for a groom then? Last time I paid a lot less and my dog looked amazing. I thought I was scheduling with the same groomer as last time but they put me with a new girl who was way more expensive, which is fine but not for the quality of the service. We love the staff here especially our regular groomer Kayla! Both of our dogs are a little skittish about the grooming process and she is so loving and patient with them! We stupidly tried another groomers when their business name changed and it was a big mistake. When we found out Kayla was still there, we of course came back! I've been bringing in my cat to have her nails clipped for a couple years pre- pandemic and always had a good experience. My husband brought her in for the first time since the pandemic started and the person not only charged my husband twice the amount that was charged before for nail clipping, the groomer cut one of her nails so deeply that she bled all over the floor. Dropped in for a quick nail trim and Tina did an excellent job! They care so much for our little ones!

First, they had our dogs for 5.5 hours and when we arrived to pick them up we were told that the Springer Spaniel was done and in the back while our Poodle was still standing on the table and only half finished in front of us. We stood there waiting another 20 min and I was at this point just focused on getting our unseen dog back and asked them to bring the dog out even if she was not finished (even though they told us she was finished when we first walked in). It took another 5 minutes for our dog to materialize from 'the back'. At this point the lady had obviously not finished our dog and was following the spaniel with scissors. As we exited the building and got into the car I noticed that the dogs still smelled like dirty dogs. THEY DID NOT WASH OUR DOGS! Also, 2 of the poodles toenails were clipped too short and he is bleeding and the Springer has razor burns on her belly. Hindsight is 20/20 and if I had known before I got into the car that the dogs had not been bathed and had razor burns and were bleeding I would not have paid them for this lack of grooming. I took my dog for a cut a groomer by name Tina gave him the worst cut i ask for a teddy bear cut and DONT cut his tail just trim.When I arrived to pick him up he was so excited and ran out of there I wasn't able to see the cut until I got home when I looked at the choppy cut on his back his hair around his face was lopsided one side of his face was longer than the other and then she completely cut off way too much I didn't ask you to give him a shave. the worst cut it have ever seen She cut his tail pretty much off, he was there for 5 hours, left in a cage no bathroom time.I call the manager and explain to her how I was disappointed with the cut she had so many excuses for her employee that's Tina had to many dogs that day, she has a illness, your dog was matted very badly which he wasn't ,all lies she told her boss,heather the owner said we did are best she was very rude not wanted to Resolve she wanted to talk about her family problems, and how Tina had Dystrophy very unprofessional. I will never take my pet here again. leaving for that long in a cage was abuse in my mind the owner heather was very rude and covering up for the both of them being unprofessional and ignorant on how to run a business. First time taking my 2 JackRussels to a spa day. The came back nice n clean, and smelling good. I will be going back to them again.

I usually don't write a review but I have to give a terrible review. I was very disappointed. I made an appointment via Facebook. I was able to make an appointment on the day I was able to come in, which was great! They sounded great, a couple of my coworkers were happy with them. But when I got there on the appointment day and time, the door was locked! I was not late. A person in the parking lot told me he saw them leave for lunch! I called them and message them to see if they want me to reschedule. I waited for them over half an hour. No response!! No call back! I was not impressed. I end up finding another place that was able to squeeze my puppy in even though they're so booked. read more
