I LOVE The Grateful Dog!! I have a border-doodle whose hair literally grows overnight and then mats and The Grateful Dog is always so great about getting him in for an appointment. I really appreciate that they never make me feel bad about his hair being in such a messy state. I feel like a terrible dog-mom for not being able to keep up with his hair! I followed Heather from her last grooming gig because I was so impressed with her grooming skills and Rex loves her! I'm amazed at the magic she can work on Rex's doodle-doo! She's also and is so sweet and friendly. She puts me and my dog at ease and works magic with his hair! John also works wonders with Rex's hair and making him feel welcome and calming his fears. He's a big baby and he's always nervous when he knows he's getting dropped off for a spa day. John is so good with him that Rex willingly goes with John and he's genuinely happy to see John! John did a stellar job today with Rex's matted mess! They do a fantastic job with doodle haircuts. (See before and after pictures.)

I have been stopping in when I get a chance to get my dogs nails trimmed. I've never been turned away from a walk in and the place is coming together. The theme of the shop is inviting and playful. I definitely recommend stopping in and give your dogs a spa day!

Final result!! Smells great and got this cute bandana

Incredibly friendly staff, very communicative, they personalized her care because of her Husky/Aussie mix, super sweet to the dogs. When she was done she smelled great and looked amazing! Definitely coming back. Thank you!!

Bad chopping job. He's an Australian Shepherd.

I have taken my dog here three times, and each time it's a different price. I'm not sure why it's so inconsistent. The first two times my dog came out looking great but this last time I paid $90 with tip and when I got home I realized my dog still looks the same except for the bad chopping job on his chest. His behind still looks outgrown and "mop-like" and to top it off they messaged me the next day saying they forgot to do his nails and asked me to come back with him so they could finish, mind you it's a 20 minute drive. I'm usually not the type to write bad reviews but I'm looking into getting him groomed somewhere else because he still looks so outgrown after one week of his last appointment. After I left they told me that the girl who had done my dog was new and their "junior groomer" why am I being charge $70 for a groom then? Last time I paid a lot less and my dog looked amazing. I thought I was scheduling with the same groomer as last time but they put me with a new girl who was way more expensive, which is fine but not for the quality of the service. Just not happy.

The Grateful Dog is awesome! I just got my poodle Archie back and he looks spectacular (and happy).

Excellent in every way! Thank you for always doing your best and making sure our Martha is prim and proper!

    Razor burn under top leg

First, they had our dogs for 5.5 hours and when we arrived to pick them up we were told that the Springer Spaniel was done and in the back while our Poodle was still standing on the table and only half finished in front of us. We stood there waiting another 20 min and I was at this point just focused on getting our unseen dog back and asked them to bring the dog out even if she was not finished (even though they told us she was finished when we first walked in). It took another 5 minutes for our dog to materialize from 'the back'. At this point the lady had obviously not finished our dog and was following the spaniel with scissors. As we exited the building and got into the car I noticed that the dogs still smelled like dirty dogs. THEY DID NOT WASH OUR DOGS! Also, 2 of the poodles toenails were clipped too short and he is bleeding and the Springer has razor burns on her belly. Hindsight is 20/20 and if I had known before I got into the car that the dogs had not been bathed and had razor burns and were bleeding I would not have paid them for this lack of grooming. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE.!!

I was introduced to Jess through a wedding venue and from there saw her work for the Oregon Dog Rescue at the annual Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. After liking posting after posting of her images of smiling dogs among the colorful flowers, I knew I wanted her to photograph my dogs as well. I procrastinated until I saw a post that one of the senior dogs she'd photographed passed away just a few days after the images had been delivered to the client. Having an ancient dog myself, I knew I couldn't wait and scheduled our Fuzzy Butt session. Plans to have the dogs groomed prior to our appointment were scrapped when my old dog started to have sleepless nights pacing the room. I contacted Jess to see if we could move up the session and she agreed to come to our house the very next day. Don't worry, a week later and Willow is doing very well now, but I'm so excited to have these photos! Jess is professional, but fun and genuinely loves animals, so with my 3 dogs running all over, she just clicked away and got some amazing candid shots. So if you have a pet you love and don't have any printed photos, I HIGHLY recommend Fuzzy Butt Pet Photography. Jess offers several levels of pricing and affordable prints prices. My advice? DON'T PROCRASTINATE!

Adopting Stella was such a huge event in our life, I really wanted to capture some of the puppy times before they were gone. And she was growing so fast, I knew I had to act quick! Kelly did an amazing job capturing our life with dog. Stella was a little tense/nervous/confused about all the commotion and posing for pictures, so I was worried that would show through in the photos. I was also afraid that my own awareness of the camera would not allow us to look natural in photos. I was so wrong! Kelly was able to beautifully catch the "real" moments in between any bouts of awkwardness. :) Our shoot was one week before Christmas, so I wasn't expecting to see our gallery until after the holidays - to my surprise and delight, Kelly had our full gallery online on Christmas Eve! It was so nice to be able to share the photos with family members in town for the holidays. Kelly's prices are incredibly reasonable compared to some other local pet photographers. The session price includes all the high-res images, which many others would make you pay extra for. You and your pet are in good hands here!

I recently got my dog's photos and I think they are very cute!! However, I would like to point out that his communication levels are unprofessional when it comes to letting clients know there will be delays in receiving your pictures. I feel I was reasonable in expecting to get my photos back to me before Christmas so that I could send out Christmas cards to friends and family, and receiving them after the holiday season was over was very disappointing, despite asking for updates several times on multiple platforms. From several others who participated in the same or similar events (including those who paid for the photos and did not get a free employee photoshoot), I have heard that communication was a common issue experienced. Ultimately, if you are a local business considering working with this photographer, I would caution against that, as you risk your client base's trust by working with someone with subpar communication skills. To the photographer: if you are struggling to complete a project or have something come up, sending out a mass email is not difficult to keep everyone in the loop. By being silent and leaving people wondering where the photos they are waiting for are, you cannot expect to have repeat customers or to build your client base. I hope you learn from this experience and can manage better in the future.
