Under new management. Changed billing policies with no notification. Supposed to mow my yard every two weeks. 1st two times this summer did not mow the full yard and would not return to mow missing area or give discount. Did not show again, and after nearly 4 weeks I emailed to see when they would be out. Emailed that they would no longer be mowing my yard. Would have been nice to receive notification of that before my grass got so tall waiting on them to show up. Actual guys mowing seemed nice, but not impressed with their reliability. read more

They were doing very basic service on my yard bi-weekly, and it was ok. However, I asked them to do a job back in November. They gave me price and date, but never did it. In January, they said it would be done by the 19th, but never did it. I can never get them to answer the phone, return my calls, or return my emails. I have cancelled all services with them for their unreliability. read more

I would like to inform anyone who use's The Grass Guy/ caleb moore that he didn't pay me for working for him on Tuesday 4/20/21 7:30a.m to 6p.m Wednesday 4/21/21 7:30a.m to 7:45 p.m and Thursday 4/22/21 7:30a.m to 1:15 p.m Hired on as a contract laborer. was told payday was weekly on Friday's and when i quit on Thursday at 1:15p.m was told by Caleb moore that he would pay me Friday evening. So i waited till 7:30p.m and i texted caleb about my check to which i was told by Caleb moore in txt ( ill let you know not in office) which was funny because The Grass Guy/ caleb moore runs his business out of his house not an office. I waited till 9.p.m now and i tried calling to which no answer so i txt Caleb his reply was ill pay you tomorrow im not on your time schedule............. just now Paid this company to mow our front and backyard, plus trim a bush in the front yard. Spoke with Caleb a couple of times over the phone and agreed on payment, which I thought was fairly priced. ( I also Included a tip with payment bc they are providing a service) Came home from work and the yard was OK but the bush that cost an extra $15 to trim was still the same. Figured it was an honest mistake and would just call the next day. Called & let them know they didn't trim the bush and Caleb said he was very sorry and would take care of it ASAP. Called 3 more times and sent a text message with 0 response and our bush still needs to be done. Very disappointed and would never recommend this company to anyone. Anyone that can't provide decent customer service follow up is no company I care to do business with. read more

Owner behaved extremely unprofessional after lawn crew severely damaged lawn during last mowing. He did not want to take any responsibility for the damage caused and actually blamed it on me. His rationale was that "customers get upset when their lawns aren't mowed due to all the rain" so his crew kept mowing even though it caused major damage on the lawn. I was even home working at the time in my home office so his crew could have knocked on the door and checked to see if I wanted them to continue. I am not talking about a couple of little ruts here and there. My backyard looks horrible. He even went so far to further blame it on me because I had called him earlier that day when his crew showed up and left immediately without mowing the lawn even though I NEVER asked him to mow the lawn no matter what. I had only called because I thought it was strange that they had just pulled up and then left immediately, and I wasn't sure if they were going to come back later that day or later in the week. The grass did need to be mowed but they should have stopped when they saw the damage that was being done to the lawn. AND if I been told that the reason they left was due to the fact that they thought the ground was still too wet, I would have passed on having it mowed then. BUT I was never given that option,and they should have known better as a "professional" lawn service. The damage was very bad, and I'm not even picky about my lawn but it looks like it's been plowed by a tractor. When I went in the backyard shortly after they had finished cutting the grass and saw the damage, I immediately took pictures and sent it to him. His actual response was "What do you want me to do about it?" and that "the rain will level out the ruts over time". He did not offer a solution and told me that we would discuss the next day. When I called him the following afternoon (since he did not follow up with me as discussed), he said he felt his crew wasn't responsible, and he hung up on me when I told him that I felt he was behaving unprofessionally by blaming the situation on me and not taking any responsibility for the damage that his crew clearly caused. When I called him back, he proceeded to take his unprofessionalism to another level by stating that he never meant that he would call me back the next day to talk about the damage even though he had ended the conversation the day before literally with "let me think about it and we'll discuss tomorrow". I think most customer's normal interpretation of that would be that they would receive a courtesy call the next day to let them know the options to repair the damage caused by the company. Clearly he never intended to repair the damage and behaved rudely to try to avoid having to deal with this situation. I had been a customer for a couple of years until this happened, but clearly that didn't mean anything to him. Until this damage occurred, I did not have any issues with the service, but the owner was very rude from the moment that I asked him to repair the damage caused by his crew. It was shocking and disappointing that from the start he became defensive and played the "let's blame the victim" game to try to avoid making it right when it was a clear case of damage by his crew. Had an agreement to have my lawn mowed on a Thursday. Two Thursdays later it's still not mowed. Many excuses were made, and ultimately they told me they weren't going to mow my lawn after two weeks of waiting. It would've been fine if they had told me at the beginning they weren't going to mow it, but now I've lost two weeks and my lawn is way overgrown. Very bad service. Would not recommend. read more

Horrible customer service. Zero accountability. I made two different appointments for work to be done, and waited for their arrival on both days. With the first unsuccessful attempt, I spoke to someone on the phone who said HE scheduled me on the WRONG day, subsequent reschedule for work was not successful, and this is the reason I was given: " the workers left after noting no check was left under the mat ". I told them I didn't write a check because I was never given an amount to pay, even though I had requested this information multiple times. So disappointing and frustrating to plan your day around someone who is not competent enough to communicate, or follow through on services they promised would be done. A third attempt at scheduling was offered by the employee over the phone, but his tone was so rude, I did not trust this company or employees to complete the job. Do not waste your time. read more

I hired Grass Guy four years ago and I was very pleased with their service. I kept them through three houses. The yard always looked great. Kevin's customer service was great. He often answered the phone, and he would always return calls within 24 hours. He was always friendly and helpful. Then Caleb Moore took over the business. The quality of the lawn service steadily decreased. The yard started to look messy and sloppily mowed, with a lack of clean edging. A month ago, my husband called the number listed on our invoices ("Please contact me at (817) 707 - 2564 if you have any questions. Thanks, Caleb Moore") to discuss our service issues. No answer and no call back. I called a few days later. No answer and no call back. I decided to seek a better service that had better customer service. I hired a new service and emailed my cancellation on Sunday night, effective immediately. Unsurprisingly, there was no response. The new service began Tuesday and the lawn looked great. On Thursday, I got a bill from the Grass Guy that included a mow from Wednesday. Frustrated, I called, received no answer and left yet another voicemail. Then I emailed also to say the invoice was wrong and ask if they understood I had cancelled the service on Sunday. Having previously received no response from my voicemails or emails, I decided to text to see if that got a response. It did. He made excuses that he had been on his honeymoon. For a month?? I'm a customer, not your friend. This is a business and that's not an excuse. Frankly it's an insulting way to try to get out of not responding. And if you're going on vacation, maybe have somebody else watching your business. Then he condescendingly told me email was best, despite that every message I had ever received requested I call. I requested a confirmation via text and email that he knew we had cancelled the service because he still had not made reference to it, merely changing the invoice---with excuses for his lack of contact and criticism on my method of contact. (If email was best, why didn't he realize I had cancelled service??) He eventually confirmed it, with excuses for why he hadn't read the cancel email. He told me they didn't work on Sundays. The mow was on Wednesday - did they not work Monday or Tuesday either? I didn't respond. I got my confirmation. I guess he slowly received my various messages and didn't check the time stamps to realize I hadn't sent anything new after the text confirmation, because he sent an email with all caps and an excessive amount of exclamation points. Like tantrum-throwing teenager. Yelling and full of excuses, never taking any responsibility for the lack of customer service. This was some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. It wasn't that bad before the past week but it snowballed with his inability to take responsibility like an adult for the poor service I received. read more

Avoid this guy. First will not honor originally quoted lower price. "We just can't do that job for that price" type explanation. Then once you've used them a few times, quality of work deteriorates. Sloppy, uneven, skipped areas. When contacted they are unresponsive to complaints with no real reason given that they will not make it right. But they still want their very high fee, without fixing any issues. Just avoid them. There are lots of great services in the metro area that honor their word AND their quoted price. read more

Very disappointed with this company. I originally chose them because of their webpage and their APPARENT professional demeanor on the phone. When I first spoke with the employee he stated they would put me on a biweekly schedule for $35 a visit. Great. He said they would put me down for every other Thursday, but since this Thursday was the 4th, they would do my lawn on Friday- I understood and agreed. Well, Friday comes and goes and my lawn is not mowed. I called the employee who did not answer. He called back at 10 am the following day apologizing saying they weren't quite caught up yet yesterday and that my lawn may even be mowed by now. It wasn't but that was fine. 6pm rolls around and they finally come. The lawn was done in 15 minutes and looked great. Well, I was happy until I went to go check to make sure the gate was closed before I let my dogs out and realized they had broken my gate and not said a word. I sent the employee a photo and said "We will pay for today, but we will not be needing your services anymore. Looks like our gate was broken with out anyone telling us. Luckily we did not let our dogs out before I realized this." He did not respond. I called him the next day and asked if he got my message. He said he did- and that was it! I was just thinking to myself you got my message and did not respond? This is not professional at all! Well He said he took my off the list and they won't return. I just said "I am surprised you did not respond" he says to me "Well I want you to know it wasn't done maliciously." OF COURSE NOT, not once did I say it was! But the fact of the matter is that it happened and he did not even ACKNOWLEDGE it! I was furious. THANKFULLY he said he wouldn't charge us for the service. I did appreciate that. I DO NOT recommend them due to the lack of professionalism, bad communication skills, and their unreliability. read more

Stay away from this lawn care service if you care about your property. They severely damaged five out of seven gutter down spouts (the only reason the other two aren't damaged is because they are too high up to be banged into), broke protective tubing that surrounds ground wires, stripped paint and material off wood trim on the house, broke two fence pickets at my gate. I had them remove a tree that was in the front yard and had been assured by the company owner that the hole would be back filled but instead they left a big open hole with severed tree roots inside of it. What they did was to dig down to expose the roots and cut them at the trunk then take the tree away leaving an unfinished mess. I cut the roots out of the hole then lugged five pails of dirt from the available lot next to mine and back filled the hole myself because I couldn't leave it like that overnight, a big hole in the middle of a front yard is a homeowner liability nightmare just waiting to happen. Out of all of that damage, the only thing that I asked the company owner to make right was the two broken fence pickets which he agreed to do. I had clearly stated that the replacement pickets were to be the same shape, length, material (pressure treated) and finish (factory dipped redwood stain). I asked if he wanted me to source the pickets to make sure they're the correct ones but he said that he was aware of the correct ones to get. Well then imagine my surprise or not when I got home the day they were to have been replaced to find that one picket had been replaced by an untreated, unfinished blonde picket that shines like a beacon in the night against the rest of the redwood stained pickets and second broken picket to still be in place untouched. When I contacted the company owner about that situation he basically said that is all he's doing and as far as he's concerned he's finished. Unbelievable. To top it all off, not once did he even apologize for any of the damage that they inflicted. Bottom line is that this company's owner has no care when it comes to good lawn service, good customer service nor overall good business practices. The owner of this company, Kevin Anderson is the most dishonest person I have ever dealt with. His company was supposed to cut our grass and do a general yard clean up along with laying some sod. The guys who cut the grass did an awful job. They left large areas completely un-mowed and did not blow off the driveway from their edging and clippings. However, the worst part was dealing with Mr. Anderson himself. We agreed on a set price for the yard clean up along with the sod. Less than half of the job was completed and when I contacted Mr Anderson he blamed me saying it was my fault...how his company not finishing a job was my fault I am not sure, not only did he blame me but he also said that he would not finish the job and I should call someone else as it was no longer his problem. He then billed me the full amount for the work the was not completed. I paid him as to not have to deal with him any more. However, he continued sending me invoices and threatening to send my bill to a collection agency even though it had been paid and I have a receipt. A complaint has been filed with the BBB. read more

These guys were absolutely terrible. Not only did they cut down the WRONG trees twice (including some great ivy-like trees at the back of the yard that served as a great privacy barrier), finally doing half, at best, of the work the third time and saying they couldn't actually do the rest due to power lines, but their billing is absolutely atrocious! We paid the invoices as they came and were given receipts. However, we continued getting billed for what we ALREADY paid for. We sent them the receipts for the invoices we had already paid, and paid what we did still owe. They continued to bill us for what we already showed them we had proof of payment and were completely non-responsive to our phone calls, voicemails, and emails. This has gone on for months and we still have yet to receive a $0 balance. We strongly recommend NOT using these jokers!!!! Poor work followed by horrible bookkeeping.
