One thing to be aware of before you come here is that this is not a resale shop or a thrift store. Everything here is new. You'll find shoes, candles, jewelry, figurines, kitchen items, linens, women's clothing, body products, and numerous gift ideas. It's a great place to check out, but everything is at full retail. Even the cute older kitchen had it's own theme! As well as the bathroom, which was covered with all the different scents made by poo pourri. All types of merchandise are offered like purses, jewelry, candles, clothes, kitchen items, tons of accessories, all unique in their own way. One of my favorites were the ReWined candles (reused wine bottles turned into scented candles that smell like wine). As well as the Vinrella, which is an umbrella that looks like a wine bottle when not open. If you happen to be in or around Giddings, this is a real treat and a great place to find unique gifts.

There are also screens in front of the cooking area, where you can place your order, pay and wait for your call, when done. The parking lot was not too bad. A good place to park for the night. If I had the ability to rate the store and restaurant separately, the store would get a higher rating, probably 5 stars. However, the restaurant brought it down. I ordered the 290 Plaza Breakfast Plate which is supposed to be one each of bacon, sausage, and egg, plus a slice of toast and fries. The sausage is basically a hot dog and the egg was overcooked (I ordered over-medium and it was rock-hard). The fries were instead a McDonald's style hash brown patty. In addition, they tried to overcharge me. The menu showed a price of $3.99 and they tried to charge $4.99. When I pointed out the error they told me that the menu was wrong. They were reluctant to honor the posted price until I said I didn't want it anymore. At that point they finally changed it to the posted price. Many people might say "it's a truck stop, what do you expect?" I have been to truck stops all over the country and many of them have great service and great quality...that's what I expect. I will definitely stop here for drink refills and snack purchases, but won't be using the restaurant anymore.

Im going to be harsher on the rest drop than others because Buc-ee's has set the bar so high…read more I grew up around smaller Buc-ee's and was in shock went I saw my first Gas Pro Shop mega location. This Giddings spot is tiny but mighty with a small deduction of the normal beaver fare, clean restrooms and drink stations, and a fair amount of pumps. However, they lack the quality I have come to expect. Specifically, the coffee station gained my ire this time. The last 2 times I have stopped here, the coffee was bad. Like Circle K bad. Burnt and tasteless. And they lack the space for the cold creamers to hide the flavor. The carafes are too low to fit a large cup under so you have to tilt them, risking hot coffee split across your hand. At least it isn't as hot as McD's.
