Going to a place to rag pick or scroung is always an unknown. I like to find places that are off the radar..so to speak. Places that have a certain ambieance..they may make you feel at home, or that you would have a store just like it. The store may have a lot of the stuff you think is important to find. Currated..is a good way to describe 'The Good Flea'. The owner knows what she likes. Good stuff. This is a place that lives up to its name. It is not an 'antique store' not a place for junk but it is like a mini swap meet and the contence is mundane to eclectic. I bought a set of coffee cups, Blue Willow, that are not hard to find but the price was right. I found stuff all over the store like that. Need an older KitchenAide mixer ..saw it. 1970s Corningware...boom. Discarded furniture, that may have had it's day,,? Well , she gave us some for free. Go. Check it. My wife and I paid a visit to this poorly kept shop. Yes, it had limited items and was overpriced. I wasn't concerned about the price. And I understand the older look. These small places tend to have that look. I was more concerned about how I was treated. I browsed a bit and bought a couple of things just to buy them. The man at the counter began to count how many magazines I purchased. As if I slipped more in. Asking me if I was just buying the one? As if he caught me or something. I said "I don't know, you packed it, however many there are I will buy them." Of course there was only the one. At this point my wife and I gave a look like let's get out of here. Before I walked out after the transaction was done. The man physically grabbed the vase out of my hand to see if we put anything inside of it. You know the old travel to a seas side village pay for over priced junk to steal something in the vase scam. I'll speak directly to ownership and that older fellow that acted so ridiculous. I couldn't help but notice no one else was treated in this manner while I circled your store. Just my wife and I. We just so happen to be the only certain demographic in your shop. We were different and were treated different. Careful judging whom you think is a thief. Those presumed thief's may own and invest in your humble seaside town. As is this case here. I used to love coming to this place and swung by recently after not being in there for awhile. The first thing that struck me is that while there's a "mask required" sign by the door, and all patrons were wearing masks, the 40s-ish brunette woman running the store was bare faced. And then her male friend came in, also not wearing a mask, and started talking loudly about cars or something. It made the experience stressful. There were two doors open, maybe they justified that they could make an exception to California's rules for themselves because....they're smarter than everyone else? Hmmmm.... In my opinion, it's not worth risking your life to go thrifting here. The selection used to be a lot better, cleaner, well organized. Now it just feels like a low rent junkshop. read more

This place was actually very entertaining to browse. They definitely have some junk stuff that you'd imagine some sovereign citizen coming to buy a 1.0 usb charger. They did have this dresser that I wished I saw and bought before I bought one myself. Construction was solid and it was almost one of those Amish made dressers. They have an obscure amount of books, not many well known stuff but definitely worth looking, not really. They do have some items that are only for display and not for sale, bummer, saw some golden praying hands that were neat. They do have some fair priced antique items. Nothing well known, some random books by old chemists to well known Jane Austen. I'd come back once a year to see what is in stock. read more

The place reminded me of some older run down places I am used to seeing in my town. Everything was overpriced. Had the best experience there today! My boyfriend and I are moving to a new house, and we needed a new tv stand. Trying to do the eco-friendly thing, we decided to shop second-hand first before buying something brand new. Stopped into The Good Flea and browsed around, they have a large selection of different aged and priced pieces! We found a very nice, solid wood console reasonably priced at $95 - would have easily been over $200 on Craigslist or even more brand new. I didn't catch her name, but the woman behind the register was kind and offered to deliver to piece to us - SAME DAY, FOR FREE! She came just at the time she said she would, helped unload it from her car, and would not take a tip. It's so nice when you try to do the right thing and end up having a great experience! read more

I love the vibe here. This is more than a thrift shop! Items are well priced , along with nice antique furniture, glass and crystalware. The owner is a woman who let us browse at our own pace and when we asked if she could tell us more about the clocks, she was able to wind each clock and let us hear the chimes. We didn't buy any clocks but we really thought hard about it. She also told us about another antique mall that had more clocks! What a nice owner! I have been shopping at the GOOD-FLEA STORE for several years , I'm not an easy person to be made comfortable or "giddy" if that's the word. That said from DAY1! The owners of that store have made me feel comfortable,happy and yes " giddy " lol. They go way out of there way to help,they facilitate my strange product needs, there accepting of everyone and they care enough to look out for things that I may be looking for , there super creative ,so she is always available to ask questions regarding applications and ideas for repurposing items. For me kind of hit and miss. I know what I am looking for and what the prices should be. So, I will pass on the overpriced stuff. Some of it has been there for years, she should lower the price if stuff is just sitting there. I see lots of tourists in here buying furniture. There are some items that are way underpriced, so if I want/need them I do buy. It pays to know what the going rates are for things and to know what things are (especially if they are unmarked). This sweet little secondhand store is exactly what you'd expect to find in a sleepy beach town: *The atmosphere is casual and charming (check out the holiday section!). *The proprietor is genuinely friendly and over the moon about her store. *There are, at any given moment, two or three flannel-clad suitors from the underworld (or Arkansas) trying desperately to get said proprietor's attention. *There are great sales--see the display out front for things like upcycled furniture, anthropomorphic ashtrays, or creepy elixir bottles. NOT A THRIFT STORE. I am an expert thrift store hunter, from the bay area to south Orange county, and I've seen most of them. This is an antique store posing as a thrift store with outrageous prices. And yes they do charge tax...hint hint...it's a "maximize my profit" enterprise. Expensive old furniture, dressers (hundreds of $), pictures, books. Hard bound books at real thrift stores do not exceed $3. Here, they are $5. The lady said "this was a textbook so it is expensive"...when you're in a used stuff business, the original prices/retail prices ARE irrelevant. Clothes are old and junky. So are shoes. I'll never come back to this place. JUNK JUNK JUNK. Want to laugh at outrageous unrealistic prices come here. But your time, I pray, is important so take my advice and go somewhere else. read more

I read some of the other reviews and do not agree with them at all. I had a great experience there. She had some unique items, some really junky items, and some really good stuff. She had a lot considering Morro Bay is not a big place. I don't think they have another flea store in town but I don't really know. All I know that while I was on vacation in Morro Bay and I am a big consignment/thrift/antique/flea shopper, I enjoyed my visit here at this shop and thought the shop keeper was really nice and I bought a few items here. I think it is worth a look see if you like to do this kind of shopping. read more

I always find great stuff here. The owner washes all clothes before they hit the floor, and takes way more time the\an most to make sure all items in the store are washed and dust free! I've purchased everything from clothing to books to furniture here and have always found great items for a great price! I just scored a dog stroller $140.00 new for $10.00 with little wear from here!
