It's so bad that I was seriously thinking of just quitting golf. I decided to take an hour lesson with Todd and see if he could help me improve my game. He started by having me hit a few ball just to see what going on with my swing. In 5 minutes he identified my problem and corrected my grip, posture and swing path. The next 30 minutes of working on it I had the ball going straight, long and nice trajectory. It was just amazing how he fixed my game in such a short time. I was so excited that I went and played a round of golf the next day. Well I shot a 95 and that was amazing. I know I need to put in some work on the range, but now I know what to work on. I would highly recommend Todd Nagata to anyone looking to improve their game. He explains things so easy to understand and shoots videos so I can see my issues. We were promised a certain price from the Mizuno Rep (Russ Chong) and he told us Oliver (Island Pacific Golf Academy) would bill us and call us when the clubs came in. A week before the clubs came in, our credit card was charged $400 more than the original price. I tried to get a hold of the Mizuno rep with no response and Oliver keeps giving us the run around. To this day he hasn't given us a refund. This was a hard and expensive lesson to learn. Don't do business with Oliver Oliquiano. From other reviews I've read it seems like he has a habit of ripping people off. Shame on him! Especially in Hawaii where the golf community is so tight knit!

As luck would have it, the person who reached out and was available at the time was the head PGA instructor Oliver. I was a little unprepared (no clubs, no gloves), but Oliver was very much go with the flow and was able to accomodate me. He asked me what I wanted to work on, and that's exactly what we did. I improved immensely, because Oliver was able to quickly diagnose the main problems with my swing and explain in an uncomplicated way (without too many "swing thoughts"). I'm excited to go home and practice/implement the changes to my swing.

I believe they have a couples night with "adult beverages" What I like is that the history of the space it occupies - I grew up in Aina Haina, and commented the to gentleman who helped me that the space used to be a bakery back in the day when I was a kid, I'd buy my .25 cent bread pudding everyday on my walk to Aina Haina Elementary as a keiki. They have three simulators and seating areas. Reservations are a good idea but not always necessary. You are allowed to bring in your own food and may purchase beer and wine. Check out the purchase specials or packages as well. Upon entrance, pay your fee and they will clean your clubs. You may grab food at Foodland or a nearby venue and return while they are getting you set up. They have a practice putting green in the entry area with many putters for sale. The shop has quite a nice set up for not being a large retail shop, it is pretty small considering the space is used to golf and improve your game. (And have fun) The simulator areas are very spacious, allowing four people to enjoy time safely, by moving out of each other's way using the seating area and game area. Everyone working there is very helpful and friendly! They have TV monitors and in case something isn't working properly or technology glitches, they are available to troubleshoot & fix it right away. With all of the equipment to support you, they also sell it, like grips, at low costs and can regrip your clubs while you play or wait. You may also leave your clubs and pick them up later. Friends, date nights, students, family... a great spot to check out. Free parking. Casual - wear golf attire or jeans/shorts. It is AC inside so you may even want a light sweatshirt.

Kellen got back to me quickly and the cost for regripping was reasonable. I went around opening and he was able to regrip them for me right there (vs waiting a few days). Super easy process and I thought he was friendly and helpful, as I know nothing about golf or how to pick a new grip. Definitely recommend going to them again!

The owner/manager is especially helpful and friendly. One caveat is I could not hit anything longer than a 4-iron in the bays along the front of the store without hitting the structure above me on my follow through; had to go to the back where the bay has more vertical clearance. I'm 6'1" for reference. Make sure you know where to park so that you don't have far to go from the parking lot to the store with your clubs.

I initially went in and asked if they had a golf simulator. They pointed and said around the corner and that was basically it. The booth was empty and it looked self-service due to the QR code on the entry and then with the lack of guidance from the rental shop. When scanning the QR code and looking online to book the booth it was really not intuitive so I went over to the golf rental shop to get help. They basically just said you have to book it online it's not walk in... cool! I was fine with that and sharing I was trying to do so but it was brining up the location behind foodland. They were so unhelpful I just left..... it's unfortunate because I was really looking forward to checking it out.....

Easy to book online for simulation session - an hour for $75 ! We hv two players ! When we arrived , a lady from the pro shop told us the simulator is the room next door . We went in n started to warm up ! She came in n honestly she appeared very stand offish n grumpy ! At that moment all the negative reviews I read abt a rude unpleasant staff came to my mind n I concluded it had to be her ! I asked about sanitizing the clubs n after brief unpleasant exchanges of she insisting all clubs are clean n me wanting to clean the clubs myself ( sanitize handlers ) .. anyway we decided to brush the unpleasant cold welcome n focus on having fun for our session! The simulation room is good size n screen large .. we choosed a Hawaii golf course - Waikiola golf course n played 18 holes ! Half way the rental driver which my daughter was swinging a part broke .. guess tha lady must be watching us from her camera and came in immediately offered us another driver ! At the end of the session, when we carried the rental set back to her - she surprised us n gave us a warm smile n asked sweetly if we had a good time ! She had a beautiful smile n her initial personal of cold n grumpy disappeared ! Hence our conclusion is that first impression is important and we were glad that lady redeemed herself with her smile at the end .. otherwise we def would have left our simulator experience w unpleasant encounter which is not what we the customers or the owner of this place wanted for sure !
