The kitchen is now up and running and I'm happy to say didn't disappoint. It's currently in an odd location but when the science park is finished it'll be right next door. It has a good range of "proper" beer, some very comfy chairs and tables and an interesting menu. My fish finger butty was a small plate. There are larger mains which sound very good. They also have a restaurant menu and a bar menu. I'm not sure if you're actually limited on where in the pub you can eat this, but I think it's nice when places have a pub grub menu and a bistro-style one, if they have a kitchen that can cope with it. I shared the seafood platter to start, which was really delicious. It had crayfish cocktail, mackerel pate, smoked salmon and langoustines. Plus bread of course. The friend I shared with and I both really rated this. Then to continue the fishy theme I had seabass fillet with garlic new potatoes, braised fennel, peas and lemon butter. So many delicious flavours in one dish, and the potatoes and fish were cooked perfectly. To finish I had the dark chocolate torte with Chantilly cream.
