The teachers are wonderful and do truly care about the children! The tadpoles app is great as you can receive pictures and updates on your child throughout the day. For what it's worth, I don't think the only non 5 star review is an accurate portrayal of the school. This sounds like a very rare case with missing details. As a very involved parent, I can confirm that their is open communication with the teachers and staff. More so than any other daycare.

My son flourished here under the supervision of wonderful teachers and owners, he graduated two years ago and they still love seeing him. My daughter still attends and will be graduating in the next 6 months. I think what I love most about this place is that it's not corporate and the attention from Alyssa, Jessica and Steve make it what it is today. They use the Tadpoles app to keep us up to date with our kids via pictures and notes along with daily reports. They are so awesome and accommodating. My son graduated and started school and the only bad thing was that he was so far advanced than any other kids in kindergarten, he got bored in school. Now he is in first grade and reads at a 4th grade level and top of the class...I know this is because of the Stepping Stones foundation he got. They have recently expanded and taking more students, if you are in the market for a new school; this is the only place to stop. You and your child will love the community they have created.

I have had two daughters go through all the 3s, one will be in Pre-K in the fall and one was there in 2010-11. Not only is this a family owned and operated business, they manage to bring the staff, children (and their parents and siblings!) into their fold as an extended family as well. As is the case with all families, there are sometimes challenges. They are ALWAYS handled by the Director on down immediately and in a way that will always benefit the children. While I think everyone is entitled to their opinion and I will fight for your right to express it, I respectfully disagree with the negative comments written below. There is NO WAY any child was drug across a room or tied to a chair. Now I will agree that maybe what was seen was a child tripping and being caught or a game of Rapunzel "tying up" Flynn Ryder and I'm confident if asked the situation would be explained. As for the use of the word "teacher". I believe we all use that word pretty freely. From Sunday School "teachers' to Music Class "teachers" to Ballet "teachers", I would guess most of those "teachers" do not have any type of teaching degree but, it does make it a heck of a lot easier to explain who they are to our children. Also, afternoon in any pre-school is not the educational time of the day. Academics are always in the morning, while the afternoon is for fun and let's face it, day care. And who better to play with the children than teenagers - that's why they are so often hired as babysitters, right? I can't speak to the movies being shown but again, there are exceptions to every rule and it seems that this could have been solved easily by sending in a few movies from home since they only watch them on Fridays. Also, in all the classes we have been in any PG movie that was sent in for Special Movie day was replaced by a classroom video and all the children understood why they could not watch it. We only have one more year left at Young Life and just writing that makes me sad. I can't imagine any parent, who is truly looking for a wonderful foundation to their child's academic career while still maintaining family values and open lines of communication would find anything less than perfection at this school!!

She had the best teachers, from compassionate, knowledgeable, skilled and structured... There are so many teachers at this school that have made a tremendous impact on my daughter's life and early development. Ms. Eileen, Ms. Krystal, Ms. Marcia, Ms. Darlene, Ms. Dianne, Ms. Teresa, Ms. Paola, Mr. Walter, Ms. Sarah, Ms. Dena and Ms. Meghan H. My daughter excelled because of the teachers, support staff and the administration at this school. Before she was born, I toured school after school and what sold me was the level of care and understanding that this school has for individualism. In addition, their spotless records on Bright From the Start's inspections and their accreditation. Even with a transition in management a few years ago (I thought the transition could have been a bit smoother), the team did a phenomenal job in being transparent and focusing on the children. When my daughter continued to excel, the teachers came up with additional ways to keep her engaged in the class (which is REALLY hard to do). There's only one thing I can say that is truly negative about this school, and that's the fact that it is too far away for me to keep my daughter here. Moving to a new school district was a downfall when COVID-19 hit. However, I've yet to experience a school that is this well put together, transparent in communication, active in the community, and proactive about my child's care. Honestly, if you want a great school for your child, this is where you want to send them.

Our tuition at Smyrna was inclusive of breakfast (which at both locations is typically apple sauce and a small pastry). At Roswell North, your $300 a week does not include a breakfast. And now the faculty are charging a registration fee every year? So the $15,000 annually isn't enough and they will need to charge another registration fee each year for a child that is already registered. Sure do miss the other Primrose.

We were very disappointed in our experience at Legacy Academy…read more When looking for a daycare for my son, I toured this school twice and thought I loved everything about it - it was clean and up to date, had a great curriculum, and was midline when it came to price. There was no real question in my mind when we decided to enroll. When we arrived for our first day (which had been "on the books" for a month), they were totally unprepared - there was no bin or drawer set up for him in the classroom, no name on the door or a crib for him, and the teachers seemed frazzled and overwhelmed. That afternoon when I went to pick him up, he was sitting in the middle of the floor by himself, crying. We frequently observed that many of our items - especially clothing - ending up in the wrong bins at least once a week, and even once my husband unwittingly brought home a trashbag containing a "blowout" outfit from another baby - gross! We had labeled the clothes as requested, but that did not seem to help. Even though the school advertises that they are NAEYC-certified, we observed on several occasions that they did not adhere to the 4:1 student-teacher ratio advertised. When my husband brought it up to the staff, he was reminded that "GA law says 6:1." In addition, in the mornings when there was only one instructor in the infant room and too many students, they REGULARLY LEFT THE CLASSROOM DOOR OPEN. Once when we were dropping off, I actually saw the teacher looking around for one of the babies - she thought he had walked out of the room "again"! Also, on our tours, I had asked on two separate occasions if glass bottles were permitted. I was told by the director that they were. In their paperwork, the school specifies plastic - so I asked again and was once more told that glass was okay. One day, a "mass message" was sent out to parents over their app saying "As it says in our handbook, no glass bottles are permitted... Effective immediately, parents who bring in glass bottles will be sent home with them." I understand the rule and the need to enforce it, however - we were the only family with glass bottles. I would have also appreciated a personal conversation and maybe even a "mea culpa" for telling us initially that they were allowed. We had to go out that night and purchase new plastic bottles to use - some notice, maybe a weekend, would have been nice. The final straw, however, came with school pictures. I observed as the director actively engaged with the little girl before my son (from an older class) in an effort to get her to smile. When it came time for our turn, she walked away. Worse than that, when he fell off of a prop they were using, face-forward onto the concrete, scraping up his face, she didn't even come over to see if he was okay!!! (Reminder: my son is an *infant* - so this is a big deal.) She actually didn't even acknowledge that anything had happened at all! It wasn't until the next day, when I went up to the desk and asked if she had seen what happened (through the bidding of one of his teachers, who pointed out to me that this was absolutely something that we should be concerned about), that she acknowledged the incident and said she would speak to the photographer about changing their set up next time. The teachers are not bad, but I believe that they are overwhelmed. And the staff isn't very friendly - any time we walked in, the front desk was either unoccupied or the staff would barely bother to say hello to us (though I will say that this improved a bit in the last month or so that we were there). It's also worth noting that over his time at this school, my son developed an aversion to having his diaper changed - he would scream and thrash around and try to flip over whenever we put him on the changing table. After three weeks away from Legacy, that behavior has completely stopped. After four months at Legacy, I can say I wouldn't recommend this school to any parent who wants their child to be in a calm, nurturing daycare environment.

I apologize for…read morethe long review but want other parents to be warned and understand our experience so that they can make an informed decision about where they send their children, especially infants. While our son only attended the school for a total of 8 hours, it has been nothing but less than favorable interactions from the initial drop off. When my husband and I arrived to drop our son off, the assistant director was on what sounded like a personal telephone call discussing another parent complaining about her. After waiting there for 5 minutes, she got off the phone, and did not know who we were or why we were there. We explained it was our son's first day and we were there to drop off. She walked us to our son's classroom where we met his teacher. Walking into the room, there was a single teacher getting bottles ready while 5 infants sat on the other side of the gate area, several of which were whining/crying. Most of the lights were off and the room is crowded and dark. The teacher said hello to me and my husband and asked me about our son's feeding/sleeping routine. We asked if we could help set him up in the room, which they allowed. At no point during this interaction did anyone say hello or welcome our son. We ultimately left him in the room playing with toys while the teacher continued to get the other children their food. Not once did we see her, or anyone, acknowledge our son before leaving. It was so discomforting that both my husband and I considered walking back into the room and taking our son home right then. I reported this to the director that morning around 10:00am. She apologized for the experience, explained it was an off morning and that she would talk with the assistant director as well as the teacher. When we picked up our son at 11:30am, he was exhausted, and had clearly been crying a lot. Upon our son's return to school, the second drop off was better. The following week, our son attended his third and final day at school. When I returned to pick up my son, the school director, Michelle, was also in the room and the teacher was holding my son sleeping. They informed me that my son had hurt himself while crawling, resulting in a bloody lip and scratched nose. On my car ride home, I called the school and asked to speak with Michelle director about what had occurred so that I could understand better. Beth, the assistant director, explained that Michelle was on a tour so I asked that she give me a call back after the tour. After two days and five telephone calls/voicemails, I finally was able to get in touch with the school director. At no point did anyone return my phone call or call to see why my son was absent after an incident at the school. The incident itself was not an issue, as I know babies will get hurt as they learn to crawl and walk but it was how the school handled things following the incident that was the problem. Sunbrook Academy advertises itself as a safe and nurturing place for your baby to receive loving care and learning experiences. The Infant Care Program is committed to making the first transition away from home natural and easy for both child and parent. Our experience was anything but that. After several weeks of back and forth with the regional director or Cadence, I was finally able to review the video of the incident involving my son. It was as described but the whole ordeal left me very disappointed in the school and how they care for children. I unfortunately have heard more horror stories about this school over the last few weeks and had I known any of this prior to enrolling our son, I would never have let him attend this school.
