My kid learns so much everyday! we love love the teachers and they are the best.. love this school!

My daughter has been enrolled at Goddard for a year and a half, and we've had a wonderful experience. The majority of the staff are attentive, loving, and genuinely invested in the well-being of the children. While there has been some teacher turnover, this seems to be a widespread challenge across industries right now, especially in daycare. That said, many of the staff members have been at this Goddard location for several years, which speaks volumes about the positive environment they've cultivated. I've been impressed with how much my daughter has learned during her time here. By the time she was just 15 months old, she could recite her ABCs and count to 20! She even asks to go to school on weekends, which is such a comforting sign of how much she enjoys it. The facility is very clean, and the office staff is incredibly organized and excellent with communication. As someone who is picky and very particular about schools for my children, I feel confident recommending this Goddard location. Leaving your child in someone else's care is never easy, but this team makes it much more reassuring. read more

My son is 4 and has been at the Goddard School of Cumming since he was 12 weeks old! We love everything about the school! The teachers are fantastic! They treat him like he is their own! They truly love him and push him academically and socially. He loves going to school! The admin is also so kind and supportive. Anytime I have needed something adjusted or changed they accommodated immediately. We chose Goddard because of the healthy, non processed lunch choices and the amazing facility's. It was important that our son was active and they have awesome outdoor playgrounds with turf so they can go outside more often. They also have an indoor gym. We have stayed at Goddard for all of these reasons plus the consistency of care and high academic standards. We will miss it so much when my son leaves for elementary school! read more

Amazing School with amazing teachers!! We feel safe to leave our child in their hands.

I never write reviews but I would not recommend at all. teachers are vastly underpaid and the staff was dismissive, arrogant and genuinely didn't care when there was a problem. Save yourself the trouble and go first to Montessori. I have never been more horrified at the coldness of a staff that is paid to look out for the welfare of children. I am observing lack of understanding and responsiveness regarding toddler's tantrums and structures or skills in place to handle them. My son gets scratched second time in a week and I am told by Mrs. Brenda that "he was hitting the other kid and told 'no' to teacher when he was asked to stop then other kid scratched." Looks like he feels invalidated when he hears no from the teacher and needs help/guidance to redirect his anger to a more socially acceptable and less harmful behavior. Instead of these strategies being explained, I am hearing from teacher that she has other kids to watch too! So it makes sense to me that kids are having meltdown when their needs are not met. Putting the blame on a kid who got injured on his face is NOT an excuse. Toddlers can scream "go away!","no!", "I hate you!" , we can use our well-developed brain skills to hear them, love them, set them up for success in life, learning and relationships. I am hoping that next time I hear some strategies used by the teacher to validate and calm them, instead of the demands like " I told them what to do and kids say no." read more

Really disappointed with the way they are running daycare. Observed negligence and lack of attention from teacher and supporting staff in the last class my son attended. In class with toddlers (kids around 3 year old), I have seen kids crying and screams & teacher/supporting staff not concerned at all. When issue was brought to management's attention they turned a deaf ear on feedback/concerns. Management is blatantly arrogant and is not bothered even to take feedback. I quote the owner - 'if you don't like, then don't come to us'. Owner said that our child is not developed for his age. Utter disappointment. Stay away! If you are one of the parents who has kid there, please don't bother to give any feedback as it won't be heard! read more

From the moment you initiate relationship, they sell hard until you start and then complete game changer after that. My child joined in summer program in pre-k and the feedback received was my son is just delayed in communication but he is extremely advanced on other areas. And then school year began and I was getting eye balls and different behavior, the principal told me "we have a big waiting list", during the open house in the pre- k transition, we were completely ignored by the teacher and treated very rudely that should have been the red flag then, I later on connected with the teacher and she was bitter, she didn't look happy at all! It was within a week starting from that awful class I started seeing my son at his worst, up to this date he never acted like that, it was truly sad when I was driving him he would plead in his gentle voice " no-school" and starting from day one if pre-k the principal telling me how they have a long list ( she actually said that) and my son will benefit elsewhere. With that said I now connected with another parent and ironically shared very "similar" experience only few months after ours. My message is if you do not know how to treat a 3-4 years olds, you should not run a school. read more

We're Very impressed with this Goddard school! They do a better job of teaching our child than We can! I'm a very strong proponent! Some of the teachers they have (currently Ms Jessica) are so over-qualified - I'm surprised they're even able to attract them. Ms Jessica knows what to say to our 3 year old better than I do! (I'm actually learning from her. Masters in child psychology or similar). All of the teachers here, and the owner, Love Children, and it shows! (There's no way they'd work as hard as they do otherwise). The report we get every day, listing around a dozen activities our child performed that day, and why, and what the curriculum-intent is (with pictures) is truly impressive! The only speed-bump we've had regarded them wanting us to arrive by a certain time in the morning (10). One of the office staff was rude to us regarding that. Well, the owner, Ms Jean, talked in person with me, in great detail, and helped me understand that their concern was primarily to facilitate the learning for all children in the class (without interruption). She's a solid person and we're very happy (even if we're not always the most timely family :) read more

I was going to send my child to this Goddard location after an amazing experience at another Goddard however after speaking to administration, they were rude and labeled my child without even knowing him. I took my child and money elsewhere. read more

I saw one of the pre-k teachers spanking a child during naptime. When I walked in, the child began to cry and yelled out, "I WANT MY MOMMY!" When I asked the teacher what was going on, she responded with "That child is always telling me no." My child seemed to love the teacher and I was very distraught over the situation, but I couldn't just un-see this poor child crying out that she wanted her mommy while she was repeatedly slapped harshly on the backside, so I called the administration and told them. The MOST CONCERNING part about this is that the administrator immediately responds with "are you sure she just wasn't tapping the child" and "I just can't believe our teacher would do that" as if to insinuate I was lying. It made me wonder what else were they trying to just sweep under the rug. I ended up reporting it to the state, but I suppose it was never substantiated on their end (there were no cameras in the room). My daughter never said that teacher hit her and it's possible that teacher was just having a bad day (there was no second teacher in the room at the time), but I know exactly what I saw and felt other parents should know too. Update after Goddard's response: What I saw is as accurately described as possible and 100% the truth, but ultimately it's just my word against theirs. They quickly shut me out after I removed my child from that daycare (which was that very day) and would never tell me the results of what their own investigation were, citing that I was not privy to the information since my child no longer went there (which seemed odd to me, since I was the one making the complaint). I have nothing to gain by lying, like I said, my child liked that teacher, but everything from the response of the teacher to the response of the administration was, in my opinion, just wrong. I don't think the child's parents would have appreciated the teacher's reasoning of "That child is always telling me no," when I asked if that little girl just didn't want to nap, and apparently is enough of a reason to slap harshly (this was NOT tapping) a child repeatedly on the backside. read more

Our daughter has been with Goddard for about a year and we've been very pleased. We visited quite a few daycares prior to selecting Goddard, but there were several things that really won us over there. From the excellent facility (including an indoor gym for when it's raining), to the curriculum for even the youngest kids, and teachers that my daughter really came to love, it's been a really great experience for her. While she was slow to begin talking, she has since really excelled in her language and vocabulary and I definitely attribute a lot of that to Goddard and the learning environment they create. read more

The Pre K teachers at Goddard lack responsibility, do not care for kids. My daughter did not like the teachers at all and she is reluctant to go to school. We lost our money for the 30 day notice they ask for inspite of giving genuine reasons. read more

If you are looking for a loving & supportive school for your child, you have found it! My son was released from another preschool due to his activity level. He has attended The Goddard School now for over three years. Since coming to the Goddard School, my child has been diagnosed with sensory processing dysfunction. The teachers, administrators and directors have been patient and helpful through out his journey. He has a private occupational therapy and the staff has been open to suggestions and techniques as advised by his therapist. That being said I feel like the school truly has my sons best interest at heart. When he does have a difficult moment, they implement techniques that help him to recover quickly. As a direct result of their support, the difficult moments are few and far between. I'm happy to say that their assistance and caring has paid off. My son is sucessful and it is due to a whole child approach Jean, Kevin, Courtney, David, MJ, Jeannie, Ms. Fowler, Ms. Bonita and Ms. Tiffany. I believe that my son is ready for his kindergarten life to start. Thank you Goddard staff for all you patience, love and support all these years! read more

The Fair - We love the location. The school is only a few miles from our home and convenient for drop off and pick up. We received a warm welcome from the very helpful staff while being recruited. Our child was in the First Steps program and was excited each morning we dropped her off.... She darted off to the toys. The Poor - After day 3, she was sick-- cold, runny nose,.. the works, which we expected (however, hoped not that soon since she was healthy when she started). By week 3, after dropping her at 9:30AM, we received a call at 12:30PM that she vomited and to pick her up. Her daily sheet showed that she had 12 oz of milk, 2 packs (8oz) of baby food, 1/2 stick of cheese, & 1/2 pack of crackers. When I posed the question to the caller of how in the world could an 11 month old girl eat that much food in 3 hours. She didn't know & the other teacher was on lunch break. I sent email, called back & was advised that they would investigate. After a doc visit & nothing was found, I returned to the school to get answers & the directors were gone home. I initiated another email & call to schedule a time to discuss on Monday. I met with 2 directors (as the exec director/owner sat in her office) in a separate office as they reviewed the feeding schedule & explained the daily sheet which still didnt explain how this child ate so much food. This lead any sane person to conclude that the sheet was not accurate. Then you wonder, if that was falsified what other sheets were & where is the food/ bottles going?? We also asked about scratches and marks we noticed around her eye on that day to which we were non-chalantly told "no one saw anything & we don't know how they got there" & this is there "investigation". When I mentioned that she slipped and fell & hit the back of her head on the hard floor because of a toy at the door, I received a political correct answer as well... "I guess we need to do a better job of that". No genuine concern in my opinion. Finally, we were not happy with the responses & explanations (or lack of) we received, the lack of caring nature from the "director team"-- Jean, Jeanne, & Courtney. We were NEVER asked "how is the baby doing"... We got the feeling after you are signed up, you are a number as one of the directors mentioned to me during the meeting that she didn't even know what I looked like until she saw me that day. Wow! Bottom line, after 3 1/2 weeks we submitted our withdrawal request and true to form, the business is a business & only concerned about paying the 30 days then they are about your experience or your child's well-being. We did our research and still fell short for our child on this choice. By the 2nd week, our child wasn't excited about going & would run back to us 2-3 times before we could get out the door (which never happened at the last daycare). I can definitely see the Goddard difference! This school is incredible. I recently pulled my youngest son from another school mainly because I felt the new teacher was harsh and lacked a nurturing nature and I could see my son was not thriving in her care. I am so glad I made the switch. Goddard welcomed us with open arms. Although the class was full, they opened up a slot for my son by adding a third teacher to the room, thus making the student-teacher ratio ever better! My son absolutely loves it there, his teachers are amazing and so caring. They truly understand how to nurture and help young children thrive and prepare them for kindergarten. read more

There are truly not enough good things that I could say about this school. I now have two children in the facility and could not be happier. The level of care that my children receive is unmatched. In three years, I have had very nominal, expected issues that come with young children, but each has been handled with the utmost of professionalism and respect. During a time when my child was having some difficulty, the entire team worked together to ensure he was as successful as possible. I fully believe that if we had been anywhere else he would not have been worked with and loved in the way he was at Goddard. Everyone that works there, owners, administration, faculty, and support staff have been phenomenal. I would suggest anyone in this area looking for an a top notch educational experience to visit the Goddard School. You will not be disappointed. read more

Goddard Cumming has been more than a school for our kids it was a home away from home.

My son has attended the Goddard school for almost 2 years. We have had nothing but a wonderful experience here. The teacher/student ratios are low, the environment is very clean, and the management team has an open door policy. My son wakes up wanting to go to school every morning. This particular school is well run with low turnover. The teachers and management team are positive, friendly, and readily available for any questions/concerns. We have been very happy here and highly recommend the Goddard school to any parents looking for the right fit for their child. read more

We've had a fantastic experience at The Goddard school. Our son spent his first two years in an in-home daycare, so I wasn't sure what to expect as I started looking into alternatives. I toured 4 other local schools, and quickly realized that Goddard offered excellent facilities and curriculum that the others didn't match up to. Most importantly, once he attended, I realized how happy he was there. The teachers he's had have all been loving and encouraging and he comes home every day with positive stories and in a good mood.
