It is a co-operative, so every family is a member of the school and has a vote on how the preschool operates, and well as the opportunity to attend their child's class as a volunteer! The families who look for cooperative preschool want to give their time and efforts to create a close knit school environment. Our children loved their time at Mayfair, and I was really happy with the sweet family-like environment. The parent board made decisions that were in the best interest of both families and school. The teacher was top notch, she really cares about child development and the kids adore her!

Each parent gets a job within the school & works scheduled days in the classroom & nursery. This is actually one of the main reasons why I chose Mayfair. I love being in the classroom with my daughter to see how she interacts with her friends & get a glimpse at what her school days are like. I also love working in the nursery, it gives me a chance to get to know the siblings of Mayfair. Ms. Amanda is an amazing teacher. The way she interacts with the children is thoughtful and respectful. She gives the children a variety of options to explore and create through play and activities. Our family moved to Michigan 2 years ago and the hunt for a preschool was on. At the time I was 6 months pregnant so having a free on-site nursery for siblings in the Threes and Fours classes was a big plus for me! My eldest daughter is currently in the 3's class and loves every minute of it! I am very excited for her to start her pre-K journey in the 4's class & to participate in the parent & tot class with my littlest.

We were searching around and weren't sure where to enroll her. She walked us around various classrooms/activity areas/yard etc. while one of the instructors interacted with our daughter. It was a plus to be super close to the school. I also think for the quality education and life skills our daughter gets, price is more than fair. We already see positive changes in our daughter. She is more curious and she loves going to school. She has also less reliant on her teddy than before. I give them 10/10 as we are very satisfied with them. I was shocked to find how clean and safe this place seemed. Doors are kept locked unless you have a pin code to get in (you choose the PIN number when you officially register) and even the doors stay locked from the inside unless you press a button to exit. There are plenty of rooms which are separated by different age groups, and the kids are closely monitored by their staff. My son is 6 months old and in the infant room. Since some babies are crawling, they have you put on booties so you don't get the floors dirty m from your shoes. They have a 3 step washing process for all toys that are played with. The crib mattresses themselves are cleaned every night and sheets are washed daily. The cribs have a plexiglass surrounding them so babies don't get their legs or arms caught in the slats. The staff has been there several years, so the low turnover rate is fantastic to me. The center director and assistant director were wonderful about answering all my questions. He's reading, writing, counting, telling stories and has an amazing knowledge of cultures, holidays, etc (due to the many theme weeks they have). Other touches and memories are the shows that the children put on every year (the teachers teach them songs, dance and even make them costumes). They take such trouble with fun art projects, Mothers/Father's Day cards/gifts/surprises and also on various occasions like Thanksgiving, Xmas, etc which are all hand made by the teachers and the children.
