My mother was super high maintenance, she showed up late the assistant stayed despite the fact that they had another wedding to start working on. All of my bridesmaids are the type that wear next to no make up, yet they were thrilled about the way they looked one of them even said "maybe I should wear make up more often." She even worked with my special request of needing rainbow eyeliner, that is not her normal she likes to make people look very very natural. They showed up on time, ready to go, and worked very fluidly with our hairstylist who was from a different salon. Will definitely use her again the next time I have an event I need make up for!

Hands down one of the nicest women I've ever met! I was looking for a makeup artist for my wedding…read moreand unfortunately, my venue didn't have many preferred vendors to suggest so I took to Yelp. Thank GOD I found Kimberly! I first met her for my trial run, which was very reasonable price wise - although I was prepared to drive to her, she came all the way to my apartment (I'm roughly 45 minutes away from her, on the Peninsula) with her full makeup kit. During the trial, she was very easy to talk to and made me comfortable. We only had to do one run through because she so closely created the image I had in my head that I didn't want anything else! On the spot, I asked her to send me a contract and how much I needed to pay for the deposit. The whole time, between our first contact and the day of, she was incredibly responsive and helpful to my questions and requests, which is something that helps the bride immensely. It was really comforting to know that with everything going on, I didn't have to worry about this aspect of it. The day of, she was very timely (she even apologized because she arrived to our hotel MAYBE 3 minutes after she said she would, which I hadn't even realized at all!) and had set up a good schedule so that she could get my bridesmaid's and my makeup done by the time we needed to leave for the venue. The whole time, she was very engaging with all of us and, again, made me feel very comfortable (as we all know, it can be pretty awkward with a stranger so up close to your face). The finished product of both myself and my bridesmaids? I really couldn't have asked for a better look for us all. It was very neutral/natural, which was what I was going for - it wasn't cakey or over the top, but there was enough to know we did have makeup on. And what was great is she catered to everyone's features and needs so while we all looked uniform and matching, each girls' good features were accentuated as needed. Overall, I would give Kimberly more than 5 stars if I could! She's very affordable, especially considering that she will come to your venue to eliminate the stress of traveling. Once I have our professional pictures, I will upload those to show an example of her work :)

To start off, she spent so much time with me for the trial (more than planned), making sure we had a chance to try a couple different things without any rush, which was so helpful. On my actual wedding day I loved everything she did, and my new husband said I looked like a movie star! I liked the trial looks when we did them, and Tiffany genuinely listened and understood what I wanted to tweak. When the big day came and we had the details set from the beginning, everything came out looking even better. She specializes in a natural-but-enhanced look and really nailed it - I didn't feel or look like I was caked in makeup, I just looked like the absolute best version of myself! Trying to find pictures to include here I struggled to find ones that seemed like they were showing off the makeup - but that's kind of the point. The makeup wasn't super showy (exactly as I wanted), it just made me look really great in every picture! And this is from someone who often doesn't like pictures of myself. The other artists she brought for our officiant and moms (both in the pictures I'm including) also did a great job. They handled mature skin, thick/unruly hair, and curls beautifully. I've never seen my mom's shoulder length curly hair look so good! They were also great company all morning, which is so important.

My experience with this makeup artist was extremely disappointing. Throughout the trial session,…read moreshe kept checking her watch, which made me feel rushed. The final result was nothing like what I expected, and I was extremely unsatisfied. When I politely expressed that I didn't like the makeup look, she got visibly frustrated, placing her arm on her waist in an unprofessional manner. Any requests for adjustments were met with reluctance and annoyance. After deciding that I didn't want her to do my makeup but would still proceed with her services for my other family members, she canceled the contract herself. While she's technically not obligated to return the retainer fee, she told me she would -- but never did. That lack of follow-through was very disappointing and unprofessional. Also, be aware that her contract does not allow cancellations due to dissatisfaction within 60 days of your event, so if you're considering a trial, make sure to do it well in advance. I would not recommend her based on this experience.

From start to finish you are just amazing. Alright here goes my review. Like most of you I was looking for the perfect make-up artist, which is not as easy as you think. I actually had settled on someone but I wasn't 100% sold - since your wedding day is the day you are to look you best I decided to invest in one last search for "the one". So glad I did, because I came across Lucy. I met with Lucy for a trial which was awesome - I got to know her, she got to know me and we clicked. On top of that when she was done with my trial I knew this was the chicka to put the finishing pieces on my wedding day. If you are looking for someone that knows what they are doing, has a passion for beauty and is a wonderful person to have on the most important day in your life - you want Lucy. Not only did Lucy make me look amazing - she did my 2 sisters + my mom all in time for me to walk - truly amazing. I had so much fun laughing and hanging out while we all got our make up done - making jokes and taking each moment in. I wish I could re-live my wedding day again and again. I hope this review does your work justice - if not I will post a few pictures that will speak more than 1000 words. Lucy from the bottom of my heart - I thank you! Love, Very happy 11.12.13 Bride

I was less than two months away from my wedding and had not yet booked a makeup artist. The one I…read morehad initially found through Wedding Wire was making me feel uneasy and worried as to whether or not she'd show up on my wedding day (she did not email me contract information for a week past when she told me she would because she'd thrown her back out...how was I supposed to feel confident that she'd be healthy on my big day if she couldn't even send an email??) I was stressing out big time that I hadn't found someone, so I contacted my fabulous wedding coordinator (see my review for Eventful Days - Jill Guiomar), and she recommended Lucy-Zayne. I feel so incredibly grateful to the makeup artist who made me feel uneasy, because if all of that hadn't happened, I never would have found Lucy!! Lucy was quick to respond to my voicemail inquiry, and we set up a makeup trial shortly after the call. The trial went wonderfully, and Lucy was so easy to talk to. She'd asked me for photos before the trial of my dress, my earrings, how I was planning to do my hair, and also examples of makeup styles I was going for. She executed the look I wanted perfectly during the trial, and I had the utmost confidence in her on my wedding day! Her prices were extremely reasonable as well (especially for the Bay Area which can be outrageous). Communication with Lucy was fantastic throughout the weeks leading up to my wedding. She even emailed me to let me know she was going to be out of town for a wedding a little before my wedding, so she might be hard to get a hold of on her travel days. Anyone who has gotten married knows there is nothing like great communication and setting expectations when it comes to wedding vendors! Lucy was one of the best communicators I had among all my vendors. Lucy showed up to the hotel right on time the morning of my wedding. She got two and 1/2 of my bridesmaids (one just got lashes and a little unexpected, but appreciated overall makeup touch up), my mom, our two flower girls and me done with time to spare! Everyone looked beautiful!!! My mom and bridesmaids really enjoyed talking with Lucy while they were in her chair, and they were all really happy with their makeup. Lucy gave everyone touch up makeup kits to take with us so we could keep our makeup looking fabulous throughout the day and night. I can't tell you how many compliments I received throughout my wedding about my makeup, and they keep coming in from people who weren't at the wedding but have seen pictures. No one can tell that I only had around 3 hours of sleep the night before because of Lucy's magic! I am so thankful Jill recommended Lucy-Zayne to me, and I highly recommend her to any bride who is looking for a great makeup artist!
