After driving past this place for 8 yrs on my way to and from work I finally managed to try it and…read moreI'm extremely glad we went. I always thought it would be hard to park at but it's not. If you can't get on the shop front then If you turn onto the street it's on the corner of there is a patron car park and plenty side streets for parking. If you use the patron car park as you enter Ginger Bistro you will need to enter you car reg into a pad this will give you 2hrs parking so you may need to nip out and move the car if you're there longer. The place is lovely and offers a nice cosy environment to relax and enjoy some amazing food, and staff who are passionate about making sure you have the best experience. Food: Starters: I had scallops from the specials menu and he had Queso Fundido A-La Cart. The scallops were cooked to perfection and the sauce they came with complimented the scallops beautifully. The Fundido was extremely tasty it was like a mini lasagna but without the pasta. Mains: Again off the specials menu I had the beef wellington which came with mash and seasonal veg. The other half had 8oz Fillet steak off the A-La Cart. Omg the pastry on the wellington was some of the nicest pastry I've ever had .. it just melted in the mouth. The beef cooked to perfection and the selection of seasonal veg was just amazing. The other half asked for steak rare/medium rare and it came with mushrooms, tomatoes, chunky chips and seasonal veg. There is a choice of sauces too .. he went for the chefs own peppercorn sauce. The steak came out cooked to perfection and he said the sauce was the best peppercorn he'd ever had. Desserts: We shared Apple Crumble and custard which finished off an amazing meal very nicely. The crumble had a good crunch to it and the custard was lovely and smooth. If I could give 10 stars on here I would .. can't say enough good things about this place. It's a must visit.

We, a party of 13, ordered and sampled varieties of dishes from the lunch menu. For starters: we chose Pate della Casa, Oriental Tempura King Prawns, Seafood Salad, Mussels Provencal; mains: Duck Leg, Spicy Pork, Slow Roasted Pork, Braised Beef, Spaghetti alla Bolognese, Fettuccine al Salmone, Fusilli Amatriciana, and Lasagna. All dishes were mostly well prepared with good presentation. In addition, we ordered garlic bread, garlic bread Mexicano, and garlic bread & cheese. To top it off, we had Mixed Berry Meringue Nest and Vanilla ice cream as dessert. The staff was very professional, attentive, efficient, and genuinely polite. The dining experience was superb, enjoyable and pleasant! Although the location is out of the way and not in town, but it is worth the drive out to enjoy a good lunch!

I was invited here for a birthday celebration meal with my other half's family…read more I was a little bit nervous as I was told it was quite posh and I'm not really used to posh. Turns out it's really not super fancy, but the other clientele were quite smartly dressed, and it seemed that there were quite a few groups of young women dressed up to the nines, so I was glad I'd made a wee bit of an effort. It seems to be a very popular place for family celebrations as well as couples. Italian food is always problematic for me, as being vegan and gluten free tends to rule out everything on the menu. However we phoned ahead and were assured they would make something for me. I had a lovely starter from the menu of roasted veg - peppers, asparagus, aubergine, courgette, served with a side salad and some lovely pickles. Main course was a specially made dish of gluten free pasta with tomato sauce and veg - not terribly creative or exciting - but what I would expect from an Italian restaurant, and I'm glad I was able to get something, and it was tasty. We were in a fairly large group of 11, and staff did well with the timing of the dishes coming out so that we could eat together. There weren't any mistakes with the meals, but a couple of the group were a bit disappointed in their meals - over cooked steak and chewy lobster. It was also very noisy where our table was, at the end of the ground floor as it was next to a mirrored wall and the floor was tiled, so it was difficult hearing anyone who wasn't right next to you, and a couple of the older members of the group really struggled because of the background noise. Staff were pleasant and even joined in with the Happy Birthday rendition as the birthday cake was brought out, which was a nice touch. They let us bring in our own cake too, so that was good of them. In seems to have a nicely taken care of outside area, with fancy water features and an extensive car park. There's also a huge children's play area outside to keep the kiddies occupied.

The website (do google walled garden bistro) gives a good flavour of what's in store for you (plenty of pictures to peruse). The welcome and service is professional and friendly, the waiting area comfy (nice settees and chairs) and the food? Oh the food! One word. Superb. Served perfectly, and tasty without being overfacing. I can recommend the pigeon breast, lamb shoulder, and crumble, washed down with a chilled Rioja Rose. Marvellous. Of course, with quality comes a price to match, but you get what you pay for (as with anything). One small gripe. The one real ale beer on offer (I was pleasantly surprised to see the handpull amongst the nitrokeg funny-foam taps) Hobgoblin was a little sharp on the taste buds. For you real-ale afficianados, this is not Cask Marque territory. Instead it is a damn fine restaurant, ideal for special occasions and haute cuisine. Do try it. Found next door to the Barton Grange Hotel directly off the main A6 road.

The moment you enter, you are greeted by an always smiling member of staff and led to the very comfy seating area around the bar. There are deep cushioned leather/fabric couches that imeediately envelope and relax you. After a drink and perusal of the fantastic and reasonably priced menu, you are led to your table with an array of different breads to taste while waiting for the food to arrive. The food is fantastic. See their website. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND A VISIT. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
