hi all :) i googled this places name (Gettin' vs Getting) to mention to a friend and checked out this Yelp for reviews. i decided i'd write my impression as the only 2 reviews were so negative. as they were both from out-of-town-ers i thought my own experiences as a local would be helpful to others reading reviews. so, i was sad about what the 1 review mentioned about feeling not welcomed as a "brown" skin person. that obviously would be terrible anywhere. my visits to this store make that "impression" very shocking, as i thought the owner/vendors would not behave that way at all. i'm not challenging that reviewers feeling, just want to say i was very surprised to read that here. the other reviews complaint was there wasn't enough for sale. for background, this location had another owner for many years (and she was an awesome amazing person, miss her). it's on the main road in Nipomo, just off the fwy. sale items are in the very old house and a very large outside area w/ small shacks as vendor booths. original owner had the place pretty full of "wares", just neat old stuff for decent prices. the newer owner is still finding more vendors so it offers less stuff until that occurs. new owner is plenty nice to me is all i can report. technically, i would guess she may actually have some "brown" skin in her DNA. of course that doesn't and shouldn't mean any thing any way (just thought i should mention that too). it's a mix of high/medium/low quality collectibles. nothing more but nothing less and i think it's fun to look around and possibly find something you want. as a local i can check it once in awhile as stock changes. i really hope this place can keep on going and is successful enough to make it all work for those involved. if you like vintage, you might as well check it out. i'm a really good searcher and enjoy being around this type of stuff. i hope similar-minded shoppers/others give it a look :) read more
