We walked in and we were greeted with a nice hello. Our group split up with my mom looking at china, and the rest of us just aimlessly wandering around. The store was filled with so many cool things: from 100% silk Hawaiian dad shirts to old dial phones to cowboy boots -- anything and everything you can think of! The store isn't big so you have to be careful to not knock anything over. The store is roughly sectioned: the front is all china and jewelry, then there is kids' toys, then in the middle of the store there are two shelves of books (found a couple first editions in very good condition), then old clothes that look like they're from an old lady's closet (LOL). Other stuff includes vanity mirrors, silverware, hats, dial phones, and tons of knick-knacks. There is an entire room in the back dedicated to just records! My mom bought a bunch of English china and was very happy with her purchase. They wrapped each dish in wrapping paper and placed them carefully in a box. I didn't buy anything although I was very tempted to LOL Cool place to go in and just walk around -- you could literally spend hours exploring this store!

There was a $42 plate, we offered $30, she called the owner and the owner countered with 35 so we took it.

All of the clothes seem to be clean and of good quality. I've also noticed they have often carry a lot of gently used name brand clothing as well. It is like your average thrift store so it's common to see things out of place and a bit scattered (but isn't that the thrill of thrifting and discovery ) My biggest issue with this place (And all related businesses in general) is I can't stand a business that doesn't offer their customers the convenience of a public restroom, this is especially inconvenient to parents and families shopping together with their little ones. Not cool. Customers are paying for your products and services, the least you can do is accommodate them by providing a bathroom...Another issue that absolutely irks me, along with not providing a public restroom, they also don't offer a fitting room. They had everything - old records, comics, purses, fur coats, glassware -- even backstage passes from different concerts which I thought was pretty cool. I am always on the hunt for Uranium glass and A Piece of the Past had a few items. One being an ashtray and another being a set of glasses that I am still kicking myself for not just buying. Happiness set in as soon as I walked through the door. Clean, organized, bright and more importantly -- no old, dirty smell! The first item that caught my eye was a handmade mug. We browsed every corner and found so many lovely items, including a beautiful vintage vanity (on my wish list). Prices were surprisingly reasonable, which made it really difficult not to buy more. As we were ready to check out with my mug, the husband pointed out a tiny silver scoop in a locked case. The ladies that were working were very friendly and welcoming right from the start. Rack and racks of clothes all lined up. Section by section there's trinkets and treasures to be found.
