My surgery took 5 hours mostly due to complications having to undue and fix scar tissue along with permeant sutures that never should have been there done by the work of a pervious different plastic surgeon (who's no longer practicing) who I trusted and botched my face 4 years prior in North Carolina. Thanks to Dr. Medina for the first time in my life, I feel normal. Prior to coming to him, I had gone to two other recommended plastic surgeons in the local CSRA area who both told me after consulting that they didn't feel comfortable touching my case and I turned away! When I had lost all hope Dr. Medina was willing to help me. He defiantly cares about his patients but in the most respectful way was brutally honest with me from the start about was realistically achievable. (Which I appreciated) Setting realistic yet clear expectations based on my unusual condition. He told me it most likely won't t be a homerun, but he could make it better, most likely 3rd base. After a year post op I think he hit a home run! You hear of botched plastic surgery and think that only happens outside the United States. That's just not the case. If you're someone remotely even considering getting any work done, especially to your face! I can't recommend enough to have it done by Dr. Medina. His level of patient care, honesty and expertise is unmatched. He ensures his work is as perfect as it can be. After my 6 months post op appointment I still had notch of tissue that hasn't disappeared near my incision and was visible (that was done from the 1st surgery) and was able to remove it locally in office. I can't just give credit to Dr. Medina without giving his staff their flowers to. All of the women that work for Dr. Medina and assist in patient care are just as incredibly delightful to interact with and are just as caring.

He has such a calm, kind presence and truly takes the time to listen. His confidence and knowledge immediately made me feel safe and cared for, and I could tell right away that I was in the best hands possible. Even when the office was short-staffed, the level of care never changed -- if anything, it showed just how dedicated they are to their patients. Everyone was still so kind, attentive, and professional. Taylor deserves the biggest thank-you. She was with me through every step, always patient, understanding, and reassuring. She made sure I had everything I needed, and she genuinely cared about how I was feeling through the whole process. Her warmth and compassion made such a difference. The aftercare was amazing, too. I never felt alone -- every question was answered, every concern was heard, and I always felt supported. I'm so beyond grateful for this experience. I was pressured to have the treatment during this visit and agreed to. There was no numbing gel provided and I had to tell the doctor several times to STOP as it was excruciatingly painful. My face was so red, swollen and painful that I waited a full week before calling the office. I could see the laser had scooped sections off my nose that left my pores enlarged, something I never had before. PLUS there were areas across my face where the doctor's application of the laser was done unevenly and it was very visible. The staff who answered was not responsive and would not allow me to speak with the doctor. She said they were understaffed. I decided to send photos so they could see the damage. I have remained indoors and worn sunblock and wide hats daily and the treatment only left me with scars but did NOT remove or even lessen the brown patches. I also never was credited back the $50 I was promised. It has been one year now and even though I avoid the sun, wear Elta and Obagi sunblock and wide SPF hats I still have the brown spots/splotches and the scars Dr Sherman gave me during his treatment. In his own words, Dr Sherman said he used that laser for tattoo removals but he still used it giving me confidence it would work. I would NOT go to Dr Sherman for hyper-pigmentation or brown spot removal with lasers. Save your money and drive to a larger office where this service is done regularly, has proven results and the staff is professional and attentive. You will not get this at Dr Sherman's office. I wasted a lot of money and look worse now. I am very disappointed.

I went in and saw their NP and she was so kind and caring. I have never had problems with my scalp before and I was scared that something serious was wrong because I have had a type of cancer on my eyelid before that I had to have removed and had to have reconstructive surgery. She settled me down and said that she believed I had psoriasis. She prescribed an oral medication and an oral medication to help with the itching. She also prescribed a shampoo and something to leave on my scalp. I am scheduled to return next week and I am so relieved that I trusted my instincts and scheduled a 2nd opinion with this office. The other dermatologist office told me that I needed a biopsy to find out if I had psoriasis and this medical provider said I did not need one for her to know that I had this condition and that she would start me on medications and if they didn't work, we would look at stronger medications when I came back. She put me at ease and settled me down because I was so frustrated and scared and had been dealing with this for over a month before I went to the dermatologist.
