I went in and saw their NP and she was so kind and caring. I have never had problems with my scalp before and I was scared that something serious was wrong because I have had a type of cancer on my eyelid before that I had to have removed and had to have reconstructive surgery. She settled me down and said that she believed I had psoriasis. She prescribed an oral medication and an oral medication to help with the itching. She also prescribed a shampoo and something to leave on my scalp. I am scheduled to return next week and I am so relieved that I trusted my instincts and scheduled a 2nd opinion with this office. The other dermatologist office told me that I needed a biopsy to find out if I had psoriasis and this medical provider said I did not need one for her to know that I had this condition and that she would start me on medications and if they didn't work, we would look at stronger medications when I came back. She put me at ease and settled me down because I was so frustrated and scared and had been dealing with this for over a month before I went to the dermatologist. This is a friendly, clean office and the staff is quite busy but seem to care about their patients. Schedule with them because you will be pleased!

I scheduled an appointment because I had two medical concerns I wanted to discuss with the physician. The physician was running behind schedule, and before I was able to discuss my concerns, I was informed by a member of the office staff that I would be permitted to address only one medical issue during the visit and that this concern was allowed only 15 minutes. I understand that medical practices have scheduling constraints and that appointments may need to be structured in a particular way. However, I found the way this policy was communicated--and the limitation itself--to be deeply disappointing as a patient. I had made the appointment with the reasonable expectation that I would have an opportunity to discuss my health concerns with the physician and determine what evaluation or treatment might be appropriate. Instead, I felt rushed and discouraged from bringing up an additional legitimate medical concern. I was particularly taken aback because this limitation was communicated after I had already arrived for the appointment. I also was not given a meaningful opportunity to speak freely about my concerns or explain whether they might be related--something that is important when discussing medical issues with a physician. From a patient's perspective, this experience made it appear that the practice prioritizes PROFIT, scheduling efficiency, and maximizing appointments over patient care and communication. Limiting a patient to one issue and approximately 15 minutes, especially without explaining that policy before the appointment, can make it difficult for patients to provide the full context needed for appropriate medical evaluation. I left the office genuinely shocked and disappointed. Patients deserve to feel heard, respected, and given an appropriate opportunity to communicate their concerns freely. I was pressured to have the treatment during this visit and agreed to. There was no numbing gel provided and I had to tell the doctor several times to STOP as it was excruciatingly painful. My face was so red, swollen and painful that I waited a full week before calling the office. I could see the laser had scooped sections off my nose that left my pores enlarged, something I never had before. PLUS there were areas across my face where the doctor's application of the laser was done unevenly and it was very visible. The staff who answered was not responsive and would not allow me to speak with the doctor. She said they were understaffed. I decided to send photos so they could see the damage. I have remained indoors and worn sunblock and wide hats daily and the treatment only left me with scars but did NOT remove or even lessen the brown patches. I also never was credited back the $50 I was promised. It has been one year now and even though I avoid the sun, wear Elta and Obagi sunblock and wide SPF hats I still have the brown spots/splotches and the scars Dr Sherman gave me during his treatment. In his own words, Dr Sherman said he used that laser for tattoo removals but he still used it giving me confidence it would work. I would NOT go to Dr Sherman for hyper-pigmentation or brown spot removal with lasers. Save your money and drive to a larger office where this service is done regularly, has proven results and the staff is professional and attentive. You will not get this at Dr Sherman's office. I wasted a lot of money and look worse now. I am very disappointed.
