Al will definitely get referrals from us. We've had the same issue as others with our gauges going bad one by one. Doing the research I determined the instrument cluster was a notorious problem. While there are many places that claim they can fix them, they require you to remove the cluster yourself and "ship it" to another state and "wait" for a similar one to be returned to you, not knowing what you will receive in return. This did not sit well with me. In conversation with a neighbor one day, he indicated he had the same issue. He had his fixed and said "the guy comes to you". Yeah right......I said. What kind of person comes to you? When he told me what it cost to get it repaired I said "yeah right, sounds too good to be true". Boy was I proven wrong. We called "The Gauge Guy" and spoke with Al. We made an appointment made for Saturday between 10 and 12. He let us know he would call when he was on his way, so we had a 30 minute window. Saturday came and he called as he said would. It was 9:30. He called to let us know the rain had caused some delays and he would be here around 11. Well, to me, since I didn't expect him to show up until noon (most people are late) 11 was fine. Al showed up earlier than expected. He was pleasant, knowledgeable, quick and efficient. WOW!! This man knows his stuff! I'm a curious person and wanted to watch the whole process. 2007 Suburban speedometer electronic dispaly went out. Could not see current miles (odometer) and all sensors, tire pressure, etc..... I tired everything and everywhere, dealer asking anywhere from $800 to $500 and had to leave the vehicle there for a few days. "YouTube" vedios suggested remove and sending out to somewhere out of town plus had to find someone to remove and then re-install $70 to remove and re-install and $200 to ship out of town, total cost $270, with 90 day warranty. I have had problems with non-working or sticking gauges on my Buick Rainier for a few years now. Every repair shop I called told me it would be around $300.00 and would take 2-3 hours. There were plenty of people online that would repair it if I took out the panel and sent it to them. None of these solutions were ideal. Simply put, Al was spectacular. When my 2007 suburban stopped showing the park, drive etc lights and also odometer and all those other things I.e. Wheel pressure, oil change info I went to google and realized it was a cluster panel issue. I found many ways to take my cluster panel out and ship it across the US for repair. I was all set to send out, and did a last minute review check. I wasn't that comfortable with the search results and thankfully came across the gauge guy yelps page. I was referred to AL at The Gauge Guy to fix my lights on my cluster. Half of them weren't lit and my gear indicator was non existent. Not only did he come to my house THE NEXT DAY which was awesome, he replaced them with the white LED lights I wanted. He was in and out within 15 minutes! I highly recommend the Gauge Guy for gauge repairs. He not only fixed my broken gauges in our escalade cluster but he changed the bulbs and power supply to ensure I wouldn't have this problem again. Not only that but they were willing to meet me all the way in Alhambra while I was visiting my mother in law for a couple days. Al with the Guage Guy drove to her house and did the repair in less than 15mins. Not only that but he said he makes trips to my hometown of Las Vegas every few months and could do the repairs then if I know anyone that needs it. I was digging through some old receipts and came across my receipt from Al the Gauge Guy and remembered that I wanted to give him a great Yelp review. I actually had him repair my instrument cluster on my Yukon Denali XL. He came out and repaired my gauges that were basically non-functioning at this point and also replaced a bunch of back lights that lit up my panel like new again. He charged me hundreds less than what the dealer wanted to charge me for a repaired cluster. I think they wanted $400 or $600, something pretty absurd. Needless to say, he came to my house and in 15-20 minutes, we was all done and I was good to go. I had Al scheduled to come to my home Monday evening, but he called this morning to see if today, Saturday, would work better for me. It did and he was actually 15 early, it took him only about 30 to rubuild the dash in my 05' HD2500, and that included changing all of the back lights to LEDs. I haven't had the chance to check it out at night as it was just done today, but as far as the service and his professionalism I couldn't be happier and it couldn't have been any easier to get this done. Mobile service at your door, fast, VERY reasonable pricing, and 5 year full warranty on parts and labor. 2003 Tahoe - had all six gauge stepper motors replaced. Only one bulb was out but, while it was apart, had all eight back-lit bulbs replaced! Thought about doing the repair myself but glad that I didn't. 2007 Suburban DIC and gear display out. $600 quote from dealer. Came across this service and read the Yelp reviews. Called and scheduled to have it repaired for $150. He was here 20 minutes and fixed it right it my driveway! Great service and very knowledgeable and provides a warranty. Would highly recommend and extremely happy I gave my money to him versus the dealer especially realizing it could be done in 20 minutes. He had my dash apart and back together quicker than I could figure out where to even start. 2005 Silverado 2500HD gauges were going out 1x1 over six years. Went to the dealership 6 years ago and was told my VIN was not on the warranty list. All gauges and lights finally quit so I needed to get the cluster fixed. After looking on the internet to find where to get it repaired, I called Al. Al knows what he is doing. Very professional and accommodating. Has a cool set up on the tailgate of his truck just for doing GM gauges. Al is so fast he could do it with his eyes closed. I haven't had any gauges for three plus years and in fifteen minutes they are all fixed. 07 Tahoe led cluster (mileage,info,ect) has been out for over 6 years. Had to guesstimate mileage for that long, delt with $700-$1k estimates back then. I'm not sure if @garageguy found a shortcut or if tech changed for this specific fix over the years.
