The idea of an old fashioned Arcade is awesome. There are games here that bring up childhood memories. The nostalgia is awesome. It's a cool idea, if executed correctly. I understand it is hard to keep old games functional. There are not many parts available to keep old games running smoothly. And that is where it was a bit frustrating to me. Many of the games are worn out and not playable. I played Street Fighter 2 and it was so glitchy, I left it and moved on. Other games are simply bad. This was the cutest place to be! Took a group of 12 seniors, and got an amazing rate for all you can play. Unfortunately had only an hour to burn, but they made the most of it! You can even host a party in the back room, which just may be happening soon considering the fact that they can entertain themselves while I plant myself behind a pinball machine somewhere in the corner. Highly recommend! Even took a picture out front with the DeLorean. My only suggestion is to place it in a photo worthy spot! We were lucky that a car had left the spot next to it. read more

This place was so much fun. Came here to have a date night with my hubby and they have a lot to explore! As soon as you walk in, the nostalgia sets in and you're transported to the 80s. There is a disco ball in the center and 80s music playing. The cost is $15 per person for the day, so no need for coins. It is also BYOB, so some folks had little coolers with their favorite drinks. There are several rows of pinball machines and a variety of arcade games. Our favorites were Super Mario, Donkey Long, Bubble Bobble, Space Invaders, NBA Jam, Punch Out, Pac Man, and Galaga to name a few. 80% of the games don't work. Joysticks only move to one side, buttons don't work, screens are glitching or so off color you can't see anything. It took me 6 games before I got to one that was playable then it froze mid-game. Out of order signs on many games, a room in the back full of broken games. It was hot in there with no air flow (had to keep going outside to cool off), smelly. We all left after an hour. Waste of money. Go somewhere else. read more

In an unassuming storefront on the southern side of The Woodlands, The Game Preserve has so many different classic arcade games and pinball machines. Pay a flat fee (or a monthly membership if you're a die-hard) and you can play on anything and everything to your heart's content. No food is served here, but you can bring in coolers and food of your own. Quite a few tables. No one under the age of 16 without parental supervision, FYI, which is a great idea. You also can host parties here, as I saw multiple birthday parties and other celebrations taking place. Games are at all skill levels with some real classics like PacMan. Definitely enjoyed by those who I was with - and they ranged in age from 6 years old on up. Restrooms are a bit difficult to find, kind of a twisty-turny route to get to a back nook where there is a Women's room, Men's room and gender-neutral restroom. Staff was courteous and helpful when asked for assistance. Parking is plentiful, as this is quite a sizable strip mall. Loads of fun for the gaming addicts, and fun for those of us that are there to supervise, too. read more

Drove all the way from Katy to play specific pinball machines, most of which were not functional. Of the ones that were on, some of them are in disrepair. Won't be coming back. read more

This place is a fabulous place to go for pinball and retro arcade games! My husband has fun with the popular classic Star Wars arcade games. The pricing is a steal for a full day of play or a membership. There's a great variety of pinball machines, which are my preference, including some antiques in the back that I play with care - I am in awe that Game Preserve keeps these so well maintained and functioning. There are also more modern machines toward the front, including a Simpsons machine that is a blast to play. The Game Preserve is a great place for both a date night or the whole family! Been here many times. Can't really beat the price. There are always a lot of games, yes sadly, some are broken and in the fix my process, but that's to be expected. Every time I've gone I would say I got my moneys worth out of games. It's a fun way to kill an hour or two without spending too much. Your experience will depend most on how busy it is and if they can keep up with cleaning up after unsupervised children. That's not their fault though and it's never been bad. Overall a great place if you were ever a gamer! If you grew up in the 1980's, 1990's, or even early 2000's, this is a place you have to visit. I opted for the day game pass for only $15 and it is worth it (no coins needed!) Game Preserve has lots of arcade games and pinball machines. All the games are retro but they all seem to be in working order. There were a few games that were out of service or the buttons didn't work (Teenage Mutant Turtle game) but overall in great working condition given how many years these games have been around. I love this place. I used to come here a lot from 2017-2018. I have only been again twice since then but man I just couldn't avoid leaving a great review! My favorite games are hydro thunder and TMNT The arcade game, and they have both of these here. They focus on pinball machines but there is something for everyone and ever age group! We have been coming here for some time. LOVE the updated/remodeled interior and the music videos and games. However, some very key vintage games and so many others were all out of order. I'd say at least half it seemed like were either not on, not operational, were on but not responding to buttons, or off completely & had tags on them listing all of the issues each had. I'm sure repairs can be longer due to acquiring parts and I appreciate the opportunity to play these still, but then pull those games out of there and replace with some that have been repaired perhaps. You just see so many to play and get in there only to keep moving around Bc each one doesn't work. The price is great, the vibe/decor are great! This would be 5+ stars if there weren't SO MANY broken games. :'-( read more

Fantastic classic arcade with so many games to choose from. There's always 80s music playing in the background and it's relatively clean as there are no food or drinks allowed near the cabinets. My only gripe is that I wish they would have someone clean the sticks and buttons every hour or so. read more

Only ok. Lots of games but my kids are 5 and 7. They didn't get the games very well and there were older kid there that kept bullying them out of their games. It seems like it's a older-ish kid daycare more than em anything. Lots of 13-16 boys who were just annoying or bullies. My husband had fun and I thought it was ok, but couldn't go too often. This is one of those reviews you hate to write because you want this to remain your naughty little secret! This place is FANTASTIC! For $15 a day or about $35 a month you can come in and play all you want. Every game...all you want. Pinball machines for the vintage connoisseur or the more recent converts. Original arcade consoles for Asteroids, Super Mario, Burgertime, Donkey Kong, Ms Pac Man, Galaga, driving games, shooting games. Most any game you can remember and all free play. I will admit some of the newer pinball games were w-a-y too dark to enjoy but I wanted to play the vintage machines in the back. The authentic bell sounds were like a time machine for me. I understand you can bring your own food and drink. They have some tables to sit and chow. My son and I spent 3 hours playing everything we could find. We went in the middle of the day on a Tuesday and hardly anyone was there. It was like our private arcade. You could tell when school got out though. Some machines have been beat up a bit more than others. But who ever own this place takes the time to love on them and keep them going. God bless him or her. Where can one go for that "arcade excitement" you once had when you were a kid growing up in the 80's? Downtown to that "overly crowded" arcade business that is attached to a seemingly biased doormen bar on certain Fridays? There are a few of you who know what I'm talking about. Trek about half an hour North down I 45, get off of Robinson Rd. exit and look for it on your right hand side, it's in a business park so do not expect a stand alone building. Once you get into the door and greeted by a person that will either check your membership or take your payment ($15 for an all day play from 4 pm to close, closed on Mondays) or do what I did and just get a $50 membership paypal reoccurring, It's worth it! After a less than brief look around you will walk into a few rooms with wall to wall of your favorite video games which you'd swear you would not imagine seeing again! I would imagine there are about 15 pinball machines, old and new, various stand ups called "caberets" and a few side downs, dance revolution, snack bar, juke boxes and a little room to watch television. Rusty as I have met which I believe is one of the four owners is a very down to earth person who will not hound you around the business but will also make rounds to make sure nobody is abusing the machines. I mean, come on, if you are an owner of anything who wouldn't do this right? He even suggest if you like to bring in food, drinks from the outside, there are at least 2 booths where you can bring this in. You can bring your own alcohol but in moderation, don't ruin it by getting drunk and boisterous in here ok? I had the great experience of getting in here right as he pulled up, entering and feeling a good 70 degree air conditioning room but quickly shoots up as each machine generates it's own heat so make sure you bring a light shirt, don't say I didn't warn you. There are two juke-boxes also on free play with a variety of music and if you get here during a busy time you might get a little tired of hearing the same 80's music since it's played on "popular hits" for the 80's but it is part of the atmosphere in which these machines were raised too. Each machine may I add is set on "free play", no need to bring quarters since it's $15 for all afternoon when it opens. I think I might have already said that but wanted to make sure you saw it. Out of all of the machines that I have noticed here I would say the "out of order" ratio would be around 20%. It still is not bad since there are always other machines to play but I will get back with you on how resilient they are at repairing their machines. Clientele....the "gangster ghetto" wanna be gang hasn't found this place yet so step in before one finds out and brings his friends. I've seen a mix of people and which important to my eyes are the father and son pairs like I have done to show them what things used to be like when we were kids. Each machine played will throw you into past memories of when you were a teenager saving your lunch money to sneak off to your nearest corner store to waste your time. Parking is adequate for what it is at the moment but may get a little tricky if it is filled up, we'll see how that goes. I have had a membership to the Game Preserve in Spring for many years. I love this place. It brings me back to my childhood when playing the pinball machines. Any time I can squeeze an hour in I stop by and have real fun. The community of regulars are fabulous as is the staff. read more

This was once the best retro arcade I had ever been to, but it is not what it once was. I went there on July 3. At least half of the games were broken. They had one room that was filled with nothing but broken games and another pinball room where only 1 machine worked. Two of my favorite games were messed up. On Berserk, the character would not move left. The Robotron 2084 game, which is supposed to have a joystick fornthe character to fire, instead has four unmarked buttons. The screen on Asteroids is too dim and the joystick on Dragon's Lair is way off. The good news is there is still a decent amount of games that work, including a nice selection of recent pinball games. They have a decent sound system with mainly 70s and 80s music. Best of all it's still BYOB, going against the grain of other retro arcades that make the bulk of their money off alcohol sales. Unfortunately it looks like this place has slipped since the unfortunate passing of founder Ken Graham after a brave fight against cancer. The COViD pandemic probably didn't help either. Nevertheless, it looks this place needs a video-game mechanic as soon as possible. If they don't, the legacy of Ken Graham won't last because people won't come back to an arcade with a bunch of games that are broken. read more

Clean facility, two employees up front ready & able to answer questions, LOTS of games to choose from, and clean bathrooms! The games range from vintage pinball machines (1960's) to 1990's arcade games. There were some games unavailable, but 98% of the games were available for play. We bought one of their specials- 10 players for $10 each- and everyone enjoyed playing. For those worried about cleanliness, they even had hand sanitizer available throughout the arcade. This place is really disappointing. I came in with my friend on my birthday and most of the machine did not work. They do not provide a refund and the excuses that the manager game is is the fact that they have a pinball tournament a few hours before we came in. The place looks poorly treated and the management is just a bunch of 5 yrs that really don't care. Please you are trying to have a nice night and what to play some game please do not come here and ruin you night. Isnt worth you money or you time for what they offer. Amazing! Over 130 arcade and pinball games. A room available to rent for parties. My brother said he went and it's BYOB. He loves this place apparently. I went for a couple hours this last weekend and really enjoyed it though I am not a huge gamer. They had the classics and some I had never heard of! Examples are dance games like DDR, PAC man, Mario, Area 51, a juke box, monster energy drinks for purchase and more! Pay a flat fee and play as much as you want. Had a Father Son day Today, Made our first visit. It was clean and not overly Busy when we arrived. I was taken back by Several games from my younger days, I even operated a Game room myself and wanted to grow up to own one with food being served. No food is served here, wish I could setup a Concession stand there. There is a joot box for your pleasure, but I saw an unused DJ boot that I wanted to climb in a play mixed tunes. No charge to the owners if they would let me. I enjoyed my time there remembering the Olden days of hanging out at the Game room. If I lived closer I would spend a good part of my days there. Surprisingly, it is BYOB and BYOF. 15$ all day per person of course, group special and more. Yes children were allowed mine is a 20 yo. Nuff said go checkem out.
