I know alot of the people there and always feel welcomed by the crowd and the bartenders are fucking awesome. even if ur new to the place i believe u will feel welcome and want to come back. the bartenders rayna and courtney are two of the best in the biz. they know how to pour a drink for being as young as they are, i was pleasantly surprised when i tasted my drinks actually i was shocked i didnt think they had enough experience making drinks because of their age but these girls in the early twenties know how to pour a drink! Galaxy is a little dive bar located in a run down strip mall a few blocks from the Great Mall. The crowd is very diverse and the patrons are very friendly. You can enjoy the jukebox, pool table, computer card games and karaoke depends on what mood you are in. The karaoke on Thursday night and boy that DJ can sing Johnny Cash! There's food on Sunday afternoon (don't ask me why I was there on a Sunday afternoon). Drinks are cheap and the bathroom is always clean so that;s a plus. I randomly went to this spot the other night with my friends because one of them knew the bartender. It's in some random dive-looking mini strip that randomly appears out of some upscale looking buildings, including a KFC that looks like a huge barn. the mini strip is a random assortment of businesses that includes a sushi place, an asian massage parlor, a locksmith, and i think a granite manufacturing office? i don't know, random. we went on what was supposed to be karaoke night but it didn't seem like anybody was really into it. the bar was your standard dive; darts, a jukebox and a lotto scratchers vending machine. the beer was cheap and my buddy's friend who was working gave me a free shot. the crowd looks shady, a wide assortment of thug looking dudes, old dudes, bros, and trashy chicks, but everybody seemed pretty chill, even when my friend went on the mic and blasted some 80's rock song in the midst of the club tracks they were pumping all night. oh yeah, the music is really loud so don't expect to do a lot of casual talking inside the bar. all in all, a standard dive. not great, but definitely not bad. read more

I have been going into bars around the world for many many years, and this is my favorite dive bar. On Friday nights, Alice is the Bartender, and she has this awesome way of keeping everyone happy and in a good mood. I swear the Juke box never even plays sad songs. I come here on Friday to drink away the problems of the week, and Alice always make me and everyone else feel welcome. The one issue, is the place is very small, but they keep it clean. Not the worst, but not anywhere close to good. People are nice but don't expect anything more than 30 year old strip mall decor. In a pinch, it'd be one of the last bars in the area of go to. I'm not too sure how they have so many positive reviews, but to each his/her own. read more

Cool place with a pretty chill crowd. I am surprised it was packed for a Sunday, but that is good stuff! It's probably because of the karaoke. About 7 a drink, but that's kind of the norm for San Jose. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because of the smokiness of the joint, but that may be a plus for some patrons. read more

the second stop on our dive bar tour after the palms was galaxy, which looked so grimy from the outside. I always driven by this place but never actually any thought or interest of going in. The people inside were really friendly. Everyone seemed to know everybody like Cheers. They had a bunch of activities such as pool and darts and a jukebox with every type of music including all the new ish that is on the radio at this instance. Pretty funny to see old folks singing along to t pain and droppin it low. Like i said the people were really friendly comin up to me and my friends trying to spark up conversations and trying to sell us magazines. Bam! This is my go to spot usually after Dave and Busters' bar closes down. Because its right down the street. I usually got a good buzz going by the time I end up here and have a couple more for last call. The lack of outdoor seating takes down the rating. The drinks are cheap, the staff is helpful. The owners are very nice. The crowd seemed shady but they didn't go out of their way to start shit with you for not being a "regular". They do not carry Frangelico so you can't order your girls german chocolate cake shots. Oh well. They do accept credit cards but there is a $20 minimum on tabs. If you don't plan on drinking that much go to the liqour store right down the corner and use the ATM. read more

Interesting little place. I have been invited here a few times by friends. It is truly a "hole in the wall" in an empty part of Milpitas town. Small but great! This is one of my preferred places to get a drink. It is a dive bar, so that means that the place is pretty small comparatively, but they use the space well and cram a lot of cool stuff in like the pool table. First I must poke fun at the last post..." always" some lame trucker with stupid stories? Im a " lame" trucker and Ive yet to meet another at that bar. Im sure If I didnt tip the bartenters there I would get your same level of service. So anyrate.. show me any bar where the bartenders and bouncers and indeed the owners will go out thier way to prevent you gettin a dui. It is a dive bar, the crowd is varied and yes... again... dive bar... full of regulars.. I fail to see that as a bad thing. This " lame trucker" can personaly vouch for this place. The bartenders all handle business, they dont water your drinks down, they charge you plenty fair and so long as you mind common bar courtesy you will always find a friendly person in there. but if you seek lame truckers with stupid stories come seek me out! One of those dive bars that are good for a random visit. The service was fast. Standard pricing. The only con for me was the country music.

In my opinion the best dive bar in Milpitas. The regulars are nice enough to buy you drinks. Also, the bartender Sarah is super sweet and amazing. (Be sure to come in on her shift). The interior looks much more cleaned up then before hence to the new paint and more seating inside. There is karoake and a dj on select nights but otherwise they have a jukebox machine. If you are in a competitive mood, they also have darts and pool (and a new vending machine if you have the munchies). Had the pleasure of meeting the owners on multiple occasions. They are some of the kindest people one could meet and it is very apparent that they really care about their business. I will definitely be coming here again and again. read more

This dive bar is a friendly non threatening place to have a drink and listen to some good music and maybe make some new friends. if you are a women and do not like the pretentious downtown scene you can feel comfortable going in by yourself. The crowd is a mix of races. Young and old which I like. No one is dress to impress. Really casual atmosphere and cheap good drinks. The D.J. on Sunday is awesome. He played R&B mostly old classic stuff. Which I loved. He played some new Hip Hop as well. I think they call him Rick James. Folks can dance but, not really a big dance floor.
