I didn't buy one for myself though... instead I got one for my dear friend... it's her birthday... birthday cake flavor was fitting for the occasion. As I walked through the aisles, the wall of jelly beans caught my eyes... love my jelly beans and they have so many flavors. Again, I didn't buy any for myself (trying to cut down on sugar... at least I had some self control while I was in this shop LOL)... I got some jelly beans for my friend though... 3 flavors - birthday cake (perfect!), green apple (my #1 fav!), tutti-fruitti. Staff was very friendly and pleasant. Prices were reasonable. The prices here are admittedly higher than most stores, but I would advise seeing it more as an experience. There is also definitely far more selection and variety than The average candy store. One can always try for very little from the candy in the bins. Quality over quantity. The typical by the lb candy, the section with oversized everything, sushi candy, full sized pizza candy, then my favorite, Plush Yummy World Food! The story behind Yummy World is that they were originally designed by Heidi Kenney (http://www.mypapercrane.com) before being bought by KidRobot. I have loved her art for more than a decade, and only admired her even more after meeting her during a local art festival in her home state, Pennsylvania (the festival was in Philadelphia, she lives in nearby Waynesboro). Okay, maybe you can get chocolate covered strawberries in San Antonio, but there's something about this cute little town and candy store that make the trip to Comfort worthwhile. Also, if you go there around Easter time, they make the best Easter cookies! We had gotten them one year and were disappointed the next year because they didn't have them, (they were going to have them finished the next day). The owner was so sweet she actually gave me the recipe, though I've never been able to duplicate their goodness. One note, it's Comfort...they don't keep the best hours. If you're thinking of going out there, check their hours and don't be surprised if the owner is running errands. Still a sweet owner and nice stop!

At first we thought we found just a candy and ice cream store, but then we discovered the variety of curated novelties they sell, and took a while to browse the entire store. I couldn't decide what to get, and so I got the miniature ice cream cone for novelty's sake. It was cute for a picture, but I sure regretted not getting a bigger treat!
