This is a review of the new owner/framer Andy from April 2023. I dropped in on a weekday with two original pieces that desperately needed framing. Andy was available and able to help me select the perfect frames. I had some idea of what I wanted and Andy was very helpful in guiding me toward frames that would best showcase my pieces. If you liked Allie's work, you will like Andy's too! read more

We just picked up three pieces of art and the Frame Up did a great job in a reasonable time for a reasonable price. Definitely recommend!

I 100% recommend getting anything you need framed here, with Alli. She is amazing! I went to have two pieces framed. It was my first time getting anything framed so I went in blind. Alli made this foreign process super easy! With her expertise and eye for design, we worked together to find the best choices for my pieces individually. She was patient, knowledgeable, and professional. I picked up my pieces today and I was blown away by the craftsmanship! Please, don't hesitate! You'll be in great hands! Thank you, Alli!! I appreciate your work! read more

I'm SO glad that I found Alli at the Frame-Up! I'm a full time professional portrait artist and just moved to Santa Barbara, in desperate need to for a pro framer. She made everything so easy, fun and of course made my artwork look INCREDIBLE. I received my order in the time frame that she said and the experience was overall amazing. I would definitely recommend seeing Alli, especially if you are an artist! I posted photos for some examples of her framing. read more

We were so happy that the Frame-Up is open during this pandemic. We know that this is the best shop for framing repair and mounting. Ali gives each of her clients her undivided attention and is super helpful. Masks and social distancing were nicely implemented and Ali was organized to assure a safe environment. read more

Andy at the Frame Up did great work for me, framing 3 pieces. I had ideas of what I thought would look good and he was very helpful in directing me to great frames and mats that really made the pieces pop. Andy was clear with pricing (and was actually pretty nice about it!). Work was completed in about two weeks (which he was also up front about). Will definitely come back! read more

Fritz the owner is a professional and gifted framer. We differed to his opinions and artistic eye. We also had suggestions which he listened to. We love how our lithograph looks like framed and love this very personable Fritz! read more

Andy did a great job re-stretching my paintings! I brought in two of my paintings that were on warped and crooked stretcher bars and he re-stretched them. They are now perfectly straight and look amazing! read more

I can't speak highly enough of this frame shop. We brought in three pieces - a pair of photos and a large fabric piece. The lady who works here was so professional, consulting and advising on the best options. Our custom-size, matted photo frames turned out flawless. More amazing than that: She actually turned away our fabric piece, although I would have willingly paid a high enough price for the frame job. She gave us some great advice about how to display the piece more frugally and more attractively, losing hundreds of dollars of business for herself but saving us a lot of regret and expense. Wow! I just love the level of trust that she earned through that. Great business - I'll be back very soon. read more

Special thanks to Ali and her creativity. We wanted to hang a stain glass piece that I made more than 25 years ago. We had hung a heater over our outside table and we thought this would be the perfect place to hang this piece. We wanted to put a frame around it ti ensure its safety. Ali helped us figure it out and it is so wonderful to have this piece hanging in our backyard. Thank you so much Ali! read more

I reviewed the Frame-Up when Alli was the owner, and now I'm leaving a review for the new owner, Andy. Andy is super knowledgeable and friendly and we truly enjoy seeing what combinations he comes up with. We recently went in to frame two prints and he surprised us by suggesting a green frame that we weren't considering, but it ended up being our favorite. He definitely knows his stuff and we can't wait to come back and work with him again on our next framing project. So glad to have such a great framing store in such a convenient location. Thank you for providing such wonderful service at such a great price! read more

What a terrific shop. I've brought in all sorts of framing projects and they always are so helpful finding the perfect frame, whether it's a big fancy painting for our living room or a cheesy motivational poster for my work. Great selection and they have a good eye for helping you find what you want. read more

10/10 recommend Alli at The Frame-Up. I took my UC Santa Barbara degree to custom frame, and Alli made the process so easy! She is knowledgeable, friendly, and recognizes her customers. My frame came out incredible and I absolutely love it. If you need something framed, this is the place! read more

If you need something framed in the SB-Goleta area, go here! Alli was so helpful and patient walking me through all the options I had available and the end result turned out perfectly for what I was imagining. I can't wait to find more opportunities to get things framed here. read more

After being featured in two national publication articles a friend said, "you have to frame these for your office. Go to the Frame Up, they'll matte it and frame it just right." I went in and their selection of frames and mattes were great. The expertise was easy and comforting. When I received the framed articles back I absolutely flipped. They looked so professional and attractive. They understood what I wanted and knew what would look best in an office setting. I just went back to frame two certificates to go next to the articles. I went right to them and will recommend their expertise and friendly service anytime. read more

After trying several other places such as Michaels and Aaron Brothers to get a simple 12X12 mat for an 8X8 photo I am SO happy I came across Frame-up! Alli is the best! I called to inquire about the custom made mat and for half the price and just a couple hours later (as opposed to a week later) I stopped by to pick up the mat from Alli. She did an awesome job! read more

This shop does a fantastic job - beautiful professional framing and thoughtful input and recommendations. Ally provided service that went above and beyond- she is responsive and provided a gorgeous stretching and frame job as promised and on time, finishing up with over the top service in assisting us with an in home delivery when our rental car proved too small! Cannot recommend The Frame-Up highly enough. read more

Last December Alli helped me find a way to "frame" a pair of hand-painted men's Van's tennis shoes. She looked online until she found the solution, and she told me where to purchase it. She did this out of the goodness of her heart! This March I took three old framed photos to her. She cleaned up the backs, saving the original 100-year old stickers and was even able to cut an oval piece of glass for me, something that no one else in town seems able to do. She's the best, and sooooo reasonable. I'm a fan! read more

I had a fantastic experience; Alli is an artist and a joy to work with. She has a wide variety of frames and mattes, and spent a long time helping us pick out combinations that complimented each unique piece and also worked together perfectly as a set. I'm definitely going to take all my future custom framing here. read more

If you're looking for custom framing, anywhere in the SB area, there's really no other place you should go! If there is one thing Alli (the incredible owner, who also happens to be an amazing woman) is known for, it's the pride she puts into each piece of artwork, because the frame can be just as important as the art itself! She's so creative, detail oriented, and she will make sure you leave with a huge smile on your face! The price is worth it. Don't settle until you've checked out this frame shop, and you'll feel great about supporting a local business :) read more

The Frame-Up is hands down the best frame shop I have ever been to. I was back and forth at Aaron Brothers and Michaels for a piece of low cost art, but they didn't have the quality or selection in their frames, nor the artistic eye in their employees. Then I found the Frame-Up which is literally down the road from Michaels, and let me tell you I will not be going anywhere else from now on. Alli was fabulous, she spent a ton of time with me and my family to help decide on the perfect frame. She was patient and very knowledgeable because she does all the work herself. She is a true artisan. Custom framing is expensive at Michaels anyway, and especially when I was evaluating what I would get for the price. Alli's shop was not only competitive but gave me so much more satisfaction to know that I chose the perfect frame for my art. read more

I've had two pieces framed there and they always do a great job. Axxess card discount was awesome too, 20% off first framing.

Okay -- I went to Michael's just nearby because I only needed to get a basic board cut with three openings 5x7. I waited 25 minutes before before anyone could help me -- my they are slow!!! And they do not know what they are doing. I was told in two weeks they could cut this very standard mat board and it would cost me a whopping $54.00. Are you kidding me ?? I went half a block away to Frame-Up and was charged $14.88 and the mat board was cut in 5 minutes. Good heavens.... go no other place than this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I can't understand the recent negative review. I've been coming here for years, most recently last week for the re-framing of a treasured canvas lithograph. The staff as always were brilliant - helpful, professional and friendly. Ally did a great job with the framing. I completely and unreservedly recommend their services - and I'd give it six stars if I could (one extra for exceeding my expectations in every way)! read more

Great service and very professional. There is a great selection of frames and matting. Would highly recommend this establishment.

Alli at the Frame-Up is awesome! She is super helpful, knowledgeable, and does a fantastic job! After bringing in one movie poster for her to frame, I was so impressed by her work that I brought in two more and plan to be a frequent customer with all my framing needs from now on. She has a fast turn around time, and her prices are very reasonable and accessible (especially for the high quality of work!). Great place and great service! read more

Always professional and engaging. A creative spirit resides in the Frame-Up. Expert in her skills. Highly recommend.Competitive prices.

Great service and good prices. We presented the Frame-Up with a difficult and unorthodox task and they handled it beautifully, and on time! Everything was handled with care and attention to detail. We would definitely recommend the Frame Up. read more

The Frame-Up is awesome. My friend needed a series of paintings framed for an upcoming gallery event and the Frame-Up nailed it. The project needed to be expedited and they did quick and great work for a reasonable price. I've used them for work as well to have our business' awards framed and they always do an excellent job. Thanks Glenn and company for all of your hardwork! read more

Horrible customer service. I was pressed for time and came in with a simple requirement: a matte and frame that would fit a 16' X 20' print. The two women behind the desk were extremely unfriendly, unhelpful, and went so far as to laugh in my face. I would recommend Aaron Brothers over The Frame-Up. read more

The Frame up in Calle Real Shopping Center is one of the most customer oriented businesses I have ever had the pleasure to visit. We were looking to make a favorite poster we had into a focal point in our home and had been wanting to get it framed for years. We brought it to the wonderful people at The Frame up and they assisted us in turning what was merely a poster into a work of art which is now a central feature of our living room. Thanks to all the helpful and patient people at The Frame up. The work was meticulous and the pricing reasonable. read more

I cannot imagine a better frame shop, or a more wonderful frame shop owner. Everything Ali does is professional, stunning, reasonable, and timely. This is a fabulous place, and we are very appreciative that it is here. We do a lot of framing. read more

I took a couple of small postcard-size prints in to have framed, and met Alli Condra, the owner and framer-extraordinaire. Her selection of moldings is superb, hundreds of them and all good quality, in every conceivable shape, color and style. If you can't find something here, you won't find it anywhere. Alli is friendly, personable and takes the time to help you find just the right frame to suit your artwork. My two pictures came out perfectly. Her workmanship and attention to fine detail were excellent. I've worked in a frame shop myself and know good work when I see it and hers is the best. Perfectly mitered corners with no painted-over wood fill. Backs papered with bump-ons securely fastened. The Frame-Up has my top honors for both service and quality. read more

Excellent customer service, quick turnaround time and it looks phenomenal! Great job.

I had a broken frame of my mother in her wedding dress from 1950. Leave it to the Frame Up to restore and look just like the original frame. They are top notch! I would definitely recommend The Frame Up for all types of framing!!!! read more

Thank you to The Frame-up in Goleta. I was completely satisfied with both of my framing experiences. One of the projects was for a charity golf tournament, and the other was a birthday gift for my wife. The recipients were thrilled with their framed prints. Both were beautifully and expertly matted and framed. I was impressed with the professional and friendly service provided by Glenn and Kirsten who are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and accommodating when it comes to style, texture, and color. I will recommend The Frame-up to my friends and return with future projects. I liked the 20% Axxess discount on first-time framing, too. read more
