We are unsure as to why you did not see either of us as one of us is always downstairs. On both dates stated we were front of house. Whilst I understand we cannot please everybody we have a large number of satisfied repeat customers who eat here 3-4 times a week, week in week out. As a result of feedback given we no longer take bookings and in reference to table service it does clearly state on 2 different boards that customers are to order at the bar. Please rest assure we take all feedback as constructive regardless of how negative a review is written. Also in regards to no beer on the 24th Dec this is totally incorrect as we had Hobgoblin our guest beer on and banks mild, the only cask not on was banks bitter. Thank you for feedback

The fact that many people are sitting in coats didn't inspire staff to light the fires. Staff chatting behind the bar to each other instead of serving. I then gave the pub another chance (not for food) as friends drink in there/never eat there. I should have took note sadly. Then we popped in and the landlady whome been drinking ran behind the bar abusing me for slagging her off with my review (which I didnt) and barred me for writing a truthful review. I then got manhandled by two locals and locked in the pub. I had to ring the police to help.

Now its open every day for people to enjoy local ales such as Enville. A must visit if passing or just nearby. Its a lovely old building that looks how it should inside given the age. For example - the big screen broke before the Grand National, management apologised and quickly got the race up on their laptop and we all gathered round to watch. Then they let us bring chips in from next door (as we were fairly drunk by then). All in all a non pretentious boozer that defines itself as a gay venue but offers all the warmest of welcomes. Scary Canary is a cool little bar / venue at the top of Stourbridge High Street, housed in the…read moreformer McDonalds building. On entering through a fairly plain black door you walk upstairs to find yourself in a lovely room filled with quirky lighting, mis-matched chairs, tables and sofas and with loads of art by local artists on the walls, (most of it for sale). The venue regularly hosts gigs, film nights and quizzes with a different theme each week. Last time I did a film quiz there, one of the rounds was 'who can draw the best picture of Steve Buscemi'! The bar is well stocked with a good range of beers, wine and spirits and also sells snacks like crisps and nuts. It also has a really great sound system and a small area that serves as a stage and dance floor. I went to Scary Canary last night for a birthday party and had a great evening, I would really recommend it as an alternative to all of the chain / old man pubs that are in Stourbridge.
