The building is a bit older but is kept up fairly well. The smells of a care home are present but not as strong as some other care facilities that I have been to due to the staff always cleaning. The staff are wonderful and friendly and seem to take great care of their residents. Two people particularly stood out from my visit, Candice who was very friendly and was the one of the primary nurses assigned to my step brother's area. He required a lot of attention and Candice was always very polite and patient and assisted my stepbrother as best as she could. We also met Cam who was also very friendly and seems to genuinely care for the residents. He always had a smile on his face and would give a smile to residents as he passed by them. He told me he loved his job and that he genuinely cared for the residents. It showed watching him work for 2 days during my visits. I rarely post reviews but because I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome this place was, I thought I would write a review to let people know of my awesome experience at Manna Acute Care in Pickens, SC.

Or did you just lay her there in the bed all day????? Not only did you send her home like this. She was severely dehydrated and she told us she asked for water all day yesterday and you failed to bring it to her..She said the care there was awful and everytime we went and spoke to anyone about it we were told it got handled or they don't know what we were talking about-- so she is back in the hospital today.....now let's talk about the facility it smells like the back end of a horse...people in wheel chairs rolling around with their pee bags so full it's spilling on the floor. It's AWFUL. When I say I wouldn't let my dog stay here- I wouldn't. I seriously wouldn't even store barn animals here. I mean just walk in the front doors of this place it's like an adult playground. You have to literally go around a maze of elderly people in wheelchairs chairs to get through the front desk and door and don't forget hold your nose or you'll pass out from the strong smell of piss as you pass through the hallway to make your way to the back to see your family who is in rehab who is clearly not even in rehab they just sit back there in bed...Take your review for yourself once you walk in I mean I literally don't even have to say anything. Oh and by the way they sent us home with someone else's paper work. So that's a HIPAA VIOLATION. They called us wanting us to bring it back up there and so that means we went home with ZERO paperwork for our patient. THINK TWICE BEFORE TAKING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE! I cannot believe we had her there. I honestly will never forgive myself for having her here and I don't know how any of those people that work there even sleep at night. Don't even bother leaving a phone number or commenting back below your sorry or thanking me for my review because you weren't worried about when we were there. My mother was sent there after a hospital visit for rehab. If my brother and I would have left her there that first night, she would have died. We ended up calling 911 after she was there for an hour because they didn't have the proper oxygen for her. Her pulse ox dropped in the mid 60's and all they could do was tell her to breathe through her nose. We got her back to the hospital that night, but she never recovered from the lack of oxygen.. she died the next day. Do NOT take anyone that you love here. It's the most disgusting awful place. I wouldn't leave my dog there. I would rate this place a negative 100 if i could.

Their knowledge is lacking! 2 hours is how long my husband waited for a response to his call light. Today I had had it, told the nurse practitioner that I didn't like how his wound looked, the wound care person happened to be there and said that it didn't look like that on Wednesday. I asked for a WBC blood test and was told we could have the results in about 12 hrs., maybe! One snippy nurse said we can call 911, I said do it now! Don't chance this place with you loved ones. I changed her clothes, cleaned her up and when I came back in 2 days she was wearing the same clothes. She had the same socks on for 5 days. They said it wasn't true but I had placed a black dot to identify them. I've complained to the staff , and finally the executive director and she only gets good care when I'm here and watching. When I pressed as to why the care staff wasn't being held accountable , he was beside himself because his regional director will not let him hold his team accountable because they may quit. Even if they are neglecting or committing elder abuse however you wish to view it. When I mentioned that I guess I will file a complaint with SCDHEC.gov the response is it will take them 30 days to investigate and she will be gone by then. I show up at 1pm and she is still in PJ's or the same clothes from the previous day each time. They will only bath her if we ask for it and insist on it. Not only does this facility not invest in quality staff , the place is in complete disrepair. Please do not go through the stress we've been through, chose another place on the east side of town. I experienced wonderful nurses(Milani is outstanding as well is Rachel) and CNAs(Aisha and Tasha). I personally watched the level of the above-and-beyond attitude by all staff members, Dietary services needs some improvement. Housekeeping and maintenance are excellent and they take pride in their jobs. The physical therapy department is amazing and professional,. I've personally been a patient in to newer facilities but looks aren't what you need especially when there is a post-hospital need with a goal to be fully functional upon returning home.

The worst CNAs that leave their groups in a mess ALL THE TIME are friends with enough management that despite many resident complaints they remain employed. The majority of them are insubordinate. Refusing to get vitals for the nurses and telling them what they will and won't do. The unit managers with the exception of a few are lazy. Leaving early in the evening(after doing nothing all day)despite admissions arriving later then having the audacity to wonder why things aren't done correctly. Since fleetwood is the lowest, tiered of all of the post Acute buildings (which I will add, all of the 'post-acutes' are owned by the same parent company) fleetwood is the least funded and least cared for. Old building that is one severe storm from falling apart. The upkeeping of the building is subpar due to the constant change is administrator. They are on the Third one of 2025. Every time one is finally licensed to be a full fledged administrator they are moved by corporate and they are given a person who has no idea how to manage people. The management is full of snakes that will turn on their employees in a heartbeat. The only few decent people in the team are the DON and ADON (Rachel and Kim) ​They are outnumbered and are easily swayed by the ones who tell them what they want to hear. I personally would never leave a family member here. Every couple months there is a bed bug outbreak. They try to keep it under wraps. Half the people on the floor are either hateful staff or agency who don't care because they don't work there. Call lights can go unanswered for hours. There have been 5 dhec visits in the last 6 months alone. And if the staff isn't answering grandma's call light, it maybe because there are staff in the janitor closet having sex. That's right! This has happened multiple times with one occurrence in November of 2025. They do not care about you or your loved ones. They are kind to your face. They will make it seem like they will fix the problem but they never do.Avoid Fleetwood post acute and all other post Acutes for that matter. You won't regret going elsewhere.
