It was a frightening and emotional experience, but Dr. Newsome's exceptional care made all the difference. He treated me as a whole person, not just a foot, and that compassion made this journey much easier to get through. Dr. Newsome is incredibly communicative and takes the time to explain everything -- what's happening, why, and how to stay healthy moving forward. His professionalism and empathy truly stand out. I also want to recognize Sharon, the nurse in the office, who is kind, caring, and always greets you with a warm smile. She makes every visit comfortable and reassuring, and her gentle touch when changing dressings really puts you at ease. I can't recommend Dr. Newsome and Atlantic Foot & Ankle Specialists enough. They've provided not only top-notch medical care but also genuine compassion and encouragement through my healing process.

I saw Todd Newsome for mild foot pain on 9/4, followed by a second visit on 9/12. He taped my foot…read moreand told me my pain was likely from soft tissue injury or damage, though no formal diagnosis was provided. At the follow-up visit, he recommended a cortisone injection. He did not explain any potential risks or side effects, nor did he conduct any imaging (e.g., ultrasound) to try to provide any more information. There was no mention of serious possible complications like tendon or nerve damage, tissue necrosis, etc. Trusting his judgment, I agreed to the injection. I definitely would not have consented had I been properly informed since the potential risks strongly outweighed my minor pain, level 2. Within a week, despite rest and icing, my pain significantly worsened, more than at any point before treatment. I contacted the office and received a call back from Todd Newsome on 9/19 after office hours. During our conversation, I mentioned that I had felt something "pop" during the injection and asked whether a tendon or bone might have been affected. His response was unprofessional and hostile, he accused me of lying and "trying to turn this around on him," and shouting that I had come in with "extreme chronic pain" which was clearly not true. My attached medical record shows this. At no point during this call did he show any concern regarding the outcome of his treatment or ask any follow-up questions about what symptoms I was experiencing to rule out infection or provide help. When I pointed out that I never reported having extreme chronic pain and that his reaction was very defensive, he told me to seek care elsewhere. I have since seen another provider at Ortho Pooler, who was far more thorough. They confirmed that a cortisone shot was not appropriate treatment for my level of pain and should be reserved for severe cases of pain levels 8 or higher. The experience here has left me in worse condition than before seeking treatment and raises serious concerns about the level of professionalism and patient care provided by Dr. Todd Newsome.

Initially, I visited urgent care, which looked at my foot, took some X-rays, and told me it was a contusion. When I saw Dr. Spector, he discovered there was something in my foot and took out a shard of glass that was poking at my nerve ending. He then gave me some inserts, band aids, antibiotics, and advice on how to help it heal and prevent infection. I'm now walking normally again thanks to Dr. Spector. I'm grateful for all his support. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. He is an excellent/incredible doctor. I only wish I could give him six stars.

Dr. Spector prescribed a liquid application, and I immediately looked at him, and said, "I've tried a lot of liquid apps and nothing works". He said, "This will work. It penetrates the NAIL". Really? Guess what? It works. I've been using it for a couple of months and my nails are looking and feeling better than they have since getting this condition, handed down from my father, on to my two sons. It's a proprietary liquid, only available at his office. Again, IT WORKS.

Being on vacation in Hilton Head, I had zero clue. I've been coming to the island for years but never needed anything large or small. My girlfriend came with me for the first time and she had a minor ingrown toenail that exponentially grew to be very problematic. So much so that she couldn't walk without terrible sharp pains. She usually takes care of them herself but she said it was too deep to clip or felt like it had broken off and was wedged under the skin. There's literally no podiatrist on the island and if there is one they don't take new patients. Not even just off the island. Came across this place which is Dr. Patrick Jordan's primary office and an urgent treatment center as well that he operates out of. Pretty skeptical at first on expectations but a few things helped out: 1) Erin, nice lady who worked the front, was exceptionally nice and made sure to find the answer to all of our questions. She also gave proper expectations on wait time and allowed us to temporarily leave to grab food while we wait. Thank you! 2) Dr Jordan was very reassuring to us about how he can take care of the nail and no podiatrist is needed. He explained every step from numbing, to deep clipping, wrapping and next steps for when we leave. He used the same procedure to get rid of the problem as the podiatrist that worked on me years back which went exceptionally well. Dr Jordan for the nail out, cleaned the area, made sure there no infections starting and sent us on our way to enjoy the rest of our vacation. It's been a few days and the area is healing quite nicely; the pain has fallen significantly and she's able to be mobile like he said. If anyone needs any medical treatment that is not an emergency, Dr Jordans office is the place to go on the island.

I knew on my first appointment that I had found my doctor. Oh my goodness, she's wonderful. Personable, knowledgeable and gentle. She took care of an ingrown nail and gave me some medication that corrected the issue - it took a while, but I was so happy to have some relief! As I have some back issues, her office has been able to trim my toenails as well, saving me from that painful chore. I always feel a little lighter, with a bounce in my step after a nail appointment. Her staff are sweet and competent (not always the case), and very caring. She is one of the few clinicians that I look forward to seeing. Her smiling face makes even these often-cloudy-South-Carolina days seem brighter! You won't be disappointed if you see her... you'll probably make it a regular visit . :)
