I can only say the only concern I had was there was mouse droppings in room 10 in the cupboard's. Some things I think they should do is get a extra bed for the 1/2 house I brought my kids along the pull out bed was barely enough but it was okay.

I paid about $50 for one person, one night. I've posted more pictures from this trip to show the cute room. This place embodies everything I hope for in an older motel. It is clean and well-kept, inside and out. If it weren't for wanting to travel around the state I could be very comfortable staying here for a week or two.

They smoked marijuana everywhere, parking lot, beach, fire pit, water, and when asked to please refrain from smoking around our children and us, we were told NO. They had a speaker the size of a grill and played their music (male genitals on the ground songs) we struggled to hear each other talk. Again, when asked to be considerate and turn their music down, we were told NO. Since they are 'friends with the owner', the manager was unable to help and was told by the manager to talk to them and work it out. When I did talk with them around the fire pit and expressed how we felt, I was verbally abused and had to threaten to call the police when I was physically threatened. We left early.

Though it showed some wear and tear (a few scuffs on the walls, edges of wallpaper peeling away,…read moresome holes in carpet), my room was generally clean and comfortable. Refrigerator and microwave were placed on top of the desk, so if you were planning to bring some work (as I often do but fortunately didn't have to on this trip) you won't find much space to do it. Bed was a little soft, but I still slept well. So, nothing great, but a less expensive and quieter alternative to the places in West Branch near I-75. I would have no problem going back.

The staff were very attentive (and seemed to know most of the customers as they came through the door), the food came out in a very reasonable time, and was high quality. Happy grand reopening after your remodel!!…read more The food was good, but with a full restaurant it came out very slowly, suggesting there isn't enough kitchen staff and/or the capacity of kitchen equipment is too small. There was only one waitress for the entire back area that was full for a band performance. I felt bad for her, but she kept at it and by the end of the evening all had gone well.

Michigan has spaced these rest areas out quite well and this one was about a half hour further…read morealong from the last. Close enough that if you skip one because you think you can make it to the next, you can! This rest area has a wide sweeping turn at the entrance that does a great job of slowing down cars as they come off the highway. That's always a plus for me. Separate space for cars and trucks, which I'm sure the truckers appreciate. Lots of trees but no shade at 3:30pm. The rest area has clean bathrooms, vending machines, picnic tables, charcoal grills and a pet walking area. As compared to others, it seems a bit larger and cleaner.
