Since recently moving to the area, I have been by The Flower Store three times shopping for items to decorate my new home; unfortunately not one time has anyone offered to help me - ever. There has always been plenty of activity within earshot in the back, I assume while they're working on flower orders; the storefront clearly is not the priority which is surprising because it is filled to the brim with lots of beautiful, expensive things so I know he's got a lot invested in it. I could have easily purchased what I needed online, but wanted to support a local retailer in my new hometown, and even though they did have what I was looking for this last visit (for less than I had seen online) I was so annoyed by being ignored a 3rd time in a row, I left empty handed and gave my business to an online retailer in the end. I don't know what I - a middle-aged woman in work attire - did to give them the impression that I wasn't a serious customer. I understand this is a college town, and maybe they're used to the college kids not being able to afford their nice things, but college kids have parents, like me, who can. I recommend, at the very least, the store get a bell on their door, and when it rings, acknowledge the people who are attempting to patronize you; that, alone, would have resulted in my business. read more

So we ordered this $50 birthday arrangement as you can see it was cute, however so small we were embarrassed to give it. We went to Kroger where the same flower truck delivers the same flowers and purchased something three times larger and nicer for $39.95. Put the flower store one on our table. Won't make that mistake again and you shouldn't either.. Nice store just apparently way over priced. read more

I am a NUT for tableware ... Love it all - Annieglass, Simon Pearce, Vietri, Match, Arte Italica, Atticus - You name it. And, Stanley carries it! A friend collects John Darien, and she tells me that they have the largest selection she's seen in one place - I can attest to the fact that they have a great selection (so, apparently, I am going to start collecting John Darien now too!) While I was paying for my new treasures, I was watching arrangements of flowers being readied for delivery and they were simply delightful, with beautiful ribbons and bows! You can find just about anything here - the table linens, while most a little pricey for my wallet, are beautiful; it was refreshing to see these lines I've not seen elsewhere. The Flower Store also carries NEST candles and a sizable collection of Lafco, my new favorite. You wanna talk customer service? With all these lines, the place had the potential to be a little snooty. It was NOT. I was truly impressed with the "shopkeeper" - Very knowledgeable on all of the brands, and was very forthright about why he carries what he does. He has created a fabulously fresh atmosphere, relaxed, not pushy; he stayed out of my way and let me shop. When I asked a question, he was there. It was a wonderful shopping experience. I had a horrible experience with The Flower Store. There was a problem with the delivery because the driver called the wrong number. However, that is an honest mistake. My problem is the owner, Stanley, is one of the rudest people I have ever come across. He insulted me and my daughter and he refused to apologize. It was like dealing with a toddler. Eventually he did apologize and had a slight sense of responsibility. The second issue is that what was delivered was not even remotely close as to what I ordered. It's a shame that parents of Auburn students can't trust local businesses to do a quality job. I ordered an arrangement in a square vase with gerbera daisies, roses, carnations that were all shades of pink. What she received was in a round scalloped case with hydrangeas and lilies. read more

Gave me and my date the wrong flowers. Not only were they the wrong flowers, but they did not give us any sort of notification that the flowers were any different. Lazy service and a waste of money for both me and my date. read more
