Everything feels thoughtfully chosen, making it a great place to find a gift--or a little something for yourself. The florist works in the back, with a big refrigerator of fresh flowers. As a rose lover, I was especially drawn to the gorgeous hybrid roses, but there was so much more: ready-made bouquets and individual flowers in florist buckets for building your own arrangement. The salesperson was friendly and made the whole visit feel welcoming without being pushy. I bought a travel-size hand lotion from Catskill Mountain Lavender, a family farm in Saugerties. It has a lovely sweet floral lavender scent, is very moisturizing, and is the perfect size to tote around in a purse. I loved finding a locally made product among the shop's offerings. Dancing Tulip is a warm, spacious boutique with a wonderful mix of flowers, plants, and gifts. I'm so glad I stopped in, and I'll definitely be back.

To impress me, a florist shop needs to exhibit creativity and display unique flowers & plants. All of which, Chatham Flowers going for them. we discussed what I was looking for, the price point, if a vase was to be included or not, and they went to work creating a beautiful bouquet with exactly the flowers I was hoping would be in the arrangement. The final arrangement was stunning, packed for travel and for presentation. I could not be happier with the final product. I did also buy a small bird to be nestled in the arrangement as well as a stunning heart for our fireplace mantle at home. Not only did she…read morestreamline the bride's "to do" list by recommending musicians and florists, her excellent knowledge of wedding-day requirements helped ,  my Daughter in Law Amanda immensely, saving her lots of computer search time and false-starts.  Her help walking us through the rehearsal was vital, getting us organized the day of and "on our spots" at the right critical time. It's all such a whirlwind of activity. And the logistics at our farm were challenging, to say the least. I also greatly appreciated how, during the actual wedding and party afterward, Sandra and her assistant were there, in the background, keeping the caterer happy, moving tables, shuttling slightly inebriated guests to their cars, (thank you, especially for that. I think I would still find people walking the horse pasture fence, looking for their cars.) And for doing the behind-the-scenes things that rarely are noticed, unless they're not done. (For example, one of the porta potties malfunctioning). Sandra handled that with quiet speed. And mostly I appreciated how she took care of Amanda's mother's doilies, the family mementoes, tucking things away in the pool house for safe keeping. And for a good, general tidying up at the end of the night.

I'm not a flower expert, and since I was my own wedding planner, I was unsure of what I wanted (to say the least). Sylvia helped us to feel confident in our ideas - giving lots of guidance, but also listening to our ideas and helping us to articulate our vision. Throughout the planning process I changed what I wanted flower wise a number of times. Sylvia was completely flexible and patient and worked with me and my budget. As the wedding approached, she met us at the space for a walk through to confirm where everything needed to go, and to make sure we were on the same page, down to the last detail. I felt completely confident that my flowers would be beautiful by the end of the process. I was right to feel confident - they were beautiful! They captured the essence of my romantic, NYC Fall wedding perfectly. She traveled all over the city the day of to make sure groomsmen had boutonnieres and the girls had their flowers.
