I'm not local to this shop but I found this shop's website online to send a flower arrangement to someone who lives in the area. Had no problems placing the online order on Wednesday for a Saturday delivery. Photo provided by recipient showed a beautiful, very fresh looking arrangement. It was a pre-designed sympathy arrangement shown on the shop's website, with a minor flower substitution completely appropriate with the intended style of the arrangement (website clearly indicates the possibility of substitutions at designer's discretion due to flower availability). Very satisfied with the service provided for this order. If I need to order flowers in this location again, I will try Designer's Choice next time. read more

A friend in the Winchester VA area recently had surgery. I'm on the opposite coast so finding a local florist with an excellent reputation always takes me to Yelp. I called in the AM, spoke to Libby, gaver her an all in budget and some vague instructions on my vision. Ordered flowers for my mother's birthday several days ago, order went through without any problem. This morning, I receive a call from the location informing me that they do not, in fact, deliver to my area (a 22 minute drive). The woman informs me that instead, they could forward the order along to a closer florist, but that the order would be different; in fact, they would have no idea what the order would ultimately look like. I explained to the woman the absurdity of a system that allows and processes delivery orders to an address without any warning whatsoever that they can't actually deliver there, but she clearly was not willing to admit fault for that. Say I am ordering a pizza, and I go to Pizza Hut's website and place my order. Should I then follow up and call the store (defeating the purpose of the website entirely) and ask them if they *actually* deliver to me? Or is that a standard feature of any website that processes deliveries? In any case, I am now scrambling to find flowers from somewhere else. Maybe I should email them a Google Maps link with directions just in case? read more

The woman that I talked to on the phone was very nice and helpful - she had some good ideas of what to send my grandfather, who had just gotten out of the hospital. I ordered a dozen white roses for my wife. They arrived right on time, from the friendly delivery person. The roses were the most exquisite roses we have ever seen. Each one perfect, and just ready to unfurl. They were arranged beautifully, with greens and baby breath, in an attractive vase. I will certainly use The Flower Center for future orders. I picked this florist off the internet because of ratings and being woman owned and I learned something today. If you want flowers for a certain price, allow them to design for you rather than PICK all the flowers you want unless you are a florist yourself with independent knowledge about cost. I ordered a specific DELUXE order and told her the flowers I wanted. It was $110 plus delivery. I was shocked when my now 70 y.o friend showed me his birthday arrangement while holding them. The arrangement was pretty, but MUCH smaller than expected. I think it was Sue who explained that the flowers I requested were more costly and If I had said I wanted a tall arrangement for $110, she would have made other choices in flowers. At least the flowers were fresh and pretty but now I know to give a price point and color and allow the florist to go with it. I called then 15 minutes after closing and they CALLED me back. That was a point for them! She did not want me unhappy, explained the above and then offered to refund $20. I am also now armed with vital information when I call any florist in the future. read more

Bought flower arrangement here for a co-worker's mothers funeral. Prices were the lowest around. The arrangement was "florist choice" deal of the day. The flowers were excellent! Delivered exactly when needed and my note was corrected as I misspelled "your" and only put "you." I was very surprised to see the color of the arrangement was perfect even though I had not been able to specify the color. read more
