Keen to try the others - calamari and a vego one with chickpea bites. Everything else is pretty much the same, just not as extensive, E.g no potato fritters or crab sticks. Service is lovely and fast, we were allowed to sit outside The Elbow Room and have beer with our meal which was cool. If you're taking home to eat there's a couple of sides - Slaw or green salad, and a cool range of sauces like chilli jam.

They have all the usuals like fish, hotdogs, spring rolls, hamburgers etc. And when you ask for a potato fritter they usually give you about four! Perfect if you've got hungry teenagers to fill up. I've had their pan fried fish once before, as I find batter a little hard to stomach being allergic to gluten, and it was really nice. However, every other time I've been there they've told me sharply that they're too busy to cook pan-fried. That's understandable but it has made me not want to go there as much unfortunately as I'm never sure if they'll be able to do it. The chips are really good though, so I just chow down on those instead!

I was a bit surprised to discover there was minimal seating indoors, although I'm not really sure why, since I've not dined in at many fish shops. The seating was small shippy-things (I'm a bit of a landlubber, so am not sure of their technical term) around large barrels. They were quite uncomfortable to sit on, but since we didn't want to walk all the way home with cold fish, sit on them we did. My husband and I shared two pieces of snapper and chips, with some malt vinegar. And oh god, it was delicious. The fish was amazing - fleshy and white and great flavour, and the batter was the perfect thickness and seasoned with lemon pepper (I think). Chips were chunky and crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. I'll definitely be back here - even if I have to perch on an uncomfortable piece of ship furniture to do so!
