Unfortunately Penny's has gone downhill since changing hands a while ago - a real shame as they used to be very reliable. Chinese food is still OK, but wait times are longer with only one guy cooking now. Fried food is awful - too brown (old oil I think?). I've been twice under the new owners - once I ordered sweet & sour won tons but discovered when I got home they were very brown and crispy, and they'd forgotten the sweet and sour sauce! Last weekend I went to order some Chinese food but it was going to take 30 minutes (at 5.30pm) so I tried their 'special' burger and a scoop of chips. Once again very disappointing - two thin, cheap looking patties which were extremely average, a bit of tomato and tomato sauce, and a couple of tiny scraps of limp pale lettuce. Chips are now fries not traditional chips, mine were very brown with no salt or taste. I hardly ever buy takeaways and won't waste my time and money going to Penny's again. read more
