If your a bit 'iffy' about the whole fish situation they will sort everything out for you, very e-fish-ent (pardon the pun!), and give you some guidence if your not sure about the cooking method. They not only supply you and I with fresh produce, but also lots of the restaurants and hotels around the city - evidence enough that this is the place to go. The scallops are plump, the mussels abundant and the mackerel glossy and line caught, the refridgerated section includes an appealing looking selection of game, which includes hare, grouse and venison. Most importantly, as I always get a bit freaked out about having to deal with fish - they'll do all the boning, gutting, filleting and cleaning you'll need - all ready for the frying pan.

At Rockfish they are serious about fresh fish cooked to perfection. When I opted for the lunchtime special we picked two courses for £15 which were absolutely delicious. (My favourite being their house special of grilled seabass). If you have any questions about any of the dishes, the helpful waiters will be happy to answer your questions as they are very knowledgeable about the produce on sale here. Can't wait to go back!

Taste is not known as a seafood distributor for nothing. Fat prawns and tuna steaks, pollock fillets and whole salmon nestle in the ice counter fresh as fresh can be. They even smoke their own fish on the premises - delish and really not that pricey (although other produce can be). Meat is local and lush - Mendip lamb being a yummy example. There are also eggs and vegetable produce, as well as interesting breads supplied by Hobbs House bakery. There are also many organic or ethically sourced products, including a really good cheese selection, as well as a stock of organic wines. The best thing I ate from there was a feta, sundried tomato and tapenade pastry - heaven in filo. There is also an endless variety of weird and wonderful chutneys, jams and sauces, and lots of sweet things and cakes. Mmm mmm. On a Saturday they do a luxury tastind day with all sorts of delectable tidbits for free (although I challenge you to leave without buying a basketful of produce). Oooh almost forgot, the home-smoked garklic is so incredibly useful for mayo, roasts, stews, pizzas, pasta sauces - it just adds another dimension to cooking and as far as I'm aware you can't buy better anywhere else in or near the city.

But with Dani closed I gave orients market a shot. It is a decent size shop with a row a freezers in the middle that are filled with dumplings, frozen seafood and other stuff that I'm yet to discover. On either side of the shop they have rows of metal shelves full of instant noodles, sauces, spices and other Asian ingredients to that you'd expect to find. It is really well stocked. The women working there was very helpful when I was trying to choose the right dumplings and also helped me pick a really nice light soy sauce. She even gave me a fortune cookie when I paid for my stuff! I'll be paying this place more attention when doing my Asian shipping from now on
