It was just after the holidays, so I think everyone was still recovering from all the over indulgence, as this place was pretty empty. There Is an acoustic band or bands that play every Thursday, you could easily see this bar pretty busy over the weekends with the regular live entertainment on offer does not look like a chain pub. The music was great, and just loud enough to make the background noise disappear, but not so loud that we felt the need to scream over each other to have a conversation. Plenty of seating in the front of the pub and loads in the back should the front get busy. We only stayed for a few drinks and headed on up the road to the next pub.

When it was mccabes it was a really nice placed eat during the day and a good starting place for a good night out on the town. They had an offer for but 1 main meal get another free. You would think with this sort of offer the portions would be tiny but everyone in our party had trouble finishing and could not even manage a dessert. The price also use to be very good for food and drinks. The staff always seemed really friendly and having bouncers on the door at night made you feel safe.

Can be a very good night out in the social club, the masons meetings are private but very busy at all. The drink is cheap and the atmosphere good. Decor beautiful. It has long been the only place in Ayr that would play what most people would call alternative music. Unfortunately, the playlist is almost identical every day/night of the week. The regulars tend to be a bit cliquey so it isn't necessarily the friendliest place to be. Granted, it is not a bad place to go when you're young and don't know any better and the drinks are usually dirt cheap - but the general consensus is that you need the drink to fool yourself into thinking you are having a good time there.
