But, but, it's okay because they offer so many great beers, sours and seltzers, whether seasonal or on a regular rotation, that finding new favorites are a no-brainer. In fact, on our most recent visit, thanks to the super friendly locals who frequent here, I found three new favorites: kiwiberry sour, bomb pop seltzer and rainbow sherbet seltzer! More importantly, I remembered to grab some growlers to take home with me this time! All in all, this is still our favorite brewery when we're up in this area. There's plenty of seating, especially in the back, and it's such a nice place to sit, relax, and enjoy the scenery. We were hoping to order some food, but unfortunately we arrived a little too late and the kitchen had already closed. The service was good overall, although the guy helping us wasn't particularly welcoming. That being said, it didn't take away from how much I enjoyed the place. The ambience is honestly magical. Between the beautiful surroundings, all the seating, and the overall laid-back vibe, I would definitely come back, just earlier next time!!

Disappointing experience and poor communication from management…read more We visited this restaurant while in Lake Arrowhead and unfortunately left with a bad impression of how management handles situations involving guests with pets. Upon arrival, we informed the host that our party of five included our 10 month old miniature dachshund. We were told pets were welcome and that the wait would be approximately 20-30 minutes. Once seated on the patio, we were asked to keep our puppy on the ground rather than on our laps due to hygiene concerns, which we completely understood and immediately complied with. Our puppy did bark occasionally, and we were actively trying to keep her calm with treats while remaining mindful of those around us. After ordering our second round of drinks, our waitress approached us and informed us that her manager wanted our dog to leave because of her barking. My issue isn't that her barking was addressed, but how the situation was handled. We were never given a warning or an opportunity to correct the behavior before being told she needed to leave. Had someone communicated their concerns beforehand, we would have gladly stepped away or made adjustments. What made the situation even more disappointing was that the manager couldn't come speak to us directly and instead left our waitress to deliver the message. She was incredibly kind and apologetic, even acknowledging that a child repeatedly running and dancing nearby appeared to be getting our puppy excited. She apologized again when we requested our tab and made it clear that this was management's decision. We understand that being dog-friendly doesn't mean allowing disruptive behavior, but basic communication and courtesy go a long way. We've visited plenty of dog-friendly establishments and have never experienced anything like this. Our waitress was wonderful, but management's lack of professionalism and communication left a bad taste in our mouths. Unfortunately, we won't be returning

For most of the night, I had a great time minding my own business, watching videos quietly on my phone in a corner of the bar. As I was getting ready to leave, a random guy sitting nearby asked me to lower the volume on my phone. Whether he intended to be polite or not, it felt condescending, territorial, and completely unnecessary. They were speaking louder than my phone, yet somehow my phone was the issue. It honestly felt like a case of "local syndrome," where someone felt empowered to tell me what to do in a place that isn't theirs. I didn't want to create a scene, so I generously tipped the bartender and left. But I was genuinely upset that I was told to be quiet while I was simply minding my own business in a corner. The place itself does not deserve a bad review because of the actions of one customer. However, if this person is in any way connected to management or staff, I would seriously reconsider my rating and change it to one star--something I never done before. I think a little more compassion and understanding toward fellow customers would go a long way.

Hey Brian, I wanted…read moreto reach out about something that happened tonight that I feel you should know about. I also want to be clear that all of this transpired after you had already left for the evening. For context, I'm a regular at the bar and have been coming in for quite a while. I've never had a major issue with Brent or Steven, even though they both have personalities that can come across as sarcastic or abrasive. I've generally let it go because my reason for coming to the bar is simple: I come in to have a few beers, relax, and enjoy myself. Tonight, while I was still drinking one of my beers and had some left in the glass, Brent came by and took it away as if I was finished. I jokingly said something along the lines of, "I guess you're not going to let me finish the last bit." I wasn't upset and wasn't trying to start an argument. It was an obvious mistake that could have been solved with a simple apology. Instead, he responded with a snarky comment rather than acknowledging the mistake. Later, he brought another beer to my table. I made eye contact with him and before I could even say anything, he asked, "Do you want to say something to me?" I replied, "No, I just wanted to say thank you." His response was, "Your eyes are telling me differently." Again, I found that unnecessarily confrontational and disrespectful. At that point, I decided to leave a $0 tip. I normally tip very well, often around 30% or more, and this was the first time I've intentionally left no tip because I wanted to send a message that I was unhappy with the way I was being treated. After that, Steven came over and confronted me about leaving no tip. He asked if I was really zeroing it out and questioned me about whether something had happened between me and Brent. I told him that whatever issue I had was not his concern, and he responded, "Fair enough." I assumed that would be the end of it. Instead, Brent came outside and confronted me. He told me Steven had said I had a problem with him. I explained that I didn't have a personal problem with him; my issue was his attitude and the way he was treating me as a customer. Rather than listening, he became increasingly hostile. I reminded him that I'm a customer and that I'm only there to buy beer from the business. I'm not there to deal with sarcasm, attitude, or an employee's emotions. As a paying customer, the minimum I expect is basic respect. I shouldn't have to walk on eggshells or accept being spoken to disrespectfully while simply trying to enjoy a beer. That confrontation ended poorly and he went back inside. A short time later, he came back out and confronted me again, this time in front of other customers. The situation became even more uncomfortable because it was happening publicly. During that exchange, he ultimately told me that I was not welcome back. Again, I reminded him that I am a paying customer whose only purpose in being there is to support the business and enjoy a beer. I should not be getting into arguments with employees, being confronted in front of other patrons, or being told I'm not welcome because I expressed concerns about how I was being treated. The bigger issue is that, in my opinion, this isn't just about tonight. This has been months in the making. I've noticed a pattern with both Brent and Steven where they seem to have become comfortable treating customers with attitude and sarcasm in ways that shouldn't be acceptable in a customer-facing role. I've overlooked it many times because I enjoy the bar and didn't think it was worth making an issue out of. On the other hand, employees like Kim, Josh, and David have always treated me and other customers with professionalism and respect. They know how to joke around while still making customers feel welcome. I've never had an issue with them. From my perspective, the problem is specifically Brent and, to a lesser extent, Steven. Brent especially has developed a demeanor that I find unwelcoming, confrontational, and disrespectful toward customers. I don't think I'm the only person who feels this way. Tonight was simply the point where it crossed a line. I'm not sending this because I want anyone fired or punished. I simply think you should know what happened, especially since it all occurred after you had left. I've spent a lot of time and money at your establishment over the years, and I would hope that customers--especially regulars--can expect basic courtesy and respect from the people serving them. I wanted to give you my side of the story directly. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

There is so much to like about the brewery, and so much this place has to offer that I can only ask that you experience it yourself. To name a few highlights of the brewery... first of all it is one of the more chill places to go to. The ambiance of Ritual Brewery is casual, friendly, and welcoming. The staff here are all awesome! They have a nice size indoor and outdoor seating area for visitors. They are family and dog friendly. They have a new brew for everyone to discover and enjoy. My personal favorite is the Extra Red. I tried just about their whole menu over some time and at least half-a-dozen visits before deciding which one was my favorite. Moreover, if you walk in looking for a specific kind of beer, you might as well go pick that beer up at the store and stay out. This brewery is a place to experience and appreciate new beers. Many of their beers are IPAs, Ales, Pale Ales, and Blondes. Check out the picture of their menu to get a better idea of all that they have. Not to mention, they have very reasonable prices for their drinks compared to probably most breweries - so don't be a Sorry Sue and complain about how the prices for a beer is expensive and that only the soda is good - but you had the nerve to visit 10 times. Oh! Also, there is often an excellent food vendor there most nights, so you can get a meal with your drink. CHEERS!

Under Martha's expert tutelage, the historic Belle is the most recent iteration of the institution…read moreat 6917 Palm that has a long and storied past. I grew up 1.5 blocks away (27164 Pacific Ave) - and 6917 is dear to my heart - and part of my own history. And I am delighted that the creative Martha has steered the old place in the right direction - kudos to you, Martha. First visited there (at the "Orange Cafe") as a 3-year-old in 1941 - it was a classic family restaurant - with mini-juke-boxes at every table. Was with my Navy officer dad. Dad & I had lunch, he ordered a beer, I asked to sample it - it tasted horrible. Got home, told (somewhat straight-laced) Mom. She disapproved, Dad entered the doghouse. Somewhere in the Forties, "Fuzzy" Lawson took over the place. Fuzzy was a serious curmudgeon - he was usually grumpy. My next-door neighbor boys (Gene and John McNown) and I exacerbated his grumpiness - we often climbed up on the roof and ran back and forth noisily. Little pieces of the ceiling would fall out and drop on customers. About 1950 we apparently triggered Fuzzy's paranoia - there was a burglary - and he blamed us. (But we three little angels were innocent!). Fast forward to 1961 - I'm fresh out of the Army Security Agency. (Had been a Russian linguist eavesdropping on the Russians at the East German border). I have a tiny studio apartment upstairs in the old brick building across the street - above the old hardware store's location. At 6917 I run a tab, eat most of my meals there. Not long thereafter I start working at the old Highland Post Office just down the street. I deliver the mail for 6917 - and my mail-carrier posse and I hang out there every night after work. By now the food operation has started to shrink, in favor of more stress on the bar. Clientele typically includes agri-workers, citrus ranchers, students, bikers, etc. There's a long Shuffleboard along the south wall, and an old upright piano at the wall's westernmost end. Shortly thereafter 6917 becomes the Bella Highland, run by a genial gent named Steve. I'm now at Valley College working 3 part-time jobs. So early Sunday mornings I work at Winfield Bailey's newspaper agency on Highland Ave - rolling newspapers for delivery. Then I go to the Bella Highland to play janitor. Steve is generous - says "Mick - drink and snack as much as you want." So I take his advice. Well-oiled after a few hours of work and beers I sit down and bang on the piano for an hour or so when work is done. I buy and customize a mint-condition 1955 Pontiac Chieftan 2-door sedan - I drive it proudly for three months. Then, heading home from a party in Redlands, I drive it upside down on Boulder Avenue close to Base Line. The car is slowing down from 100 MPH - it rolls 3 times, mowing down 600 feet of highway perimeter fence. Despite having no seat belts, I walk away from the totaled vehicle with just a scratch on the hand - and I hitch-hike to the Bella Highland. Steve is working that night. Following Steve's advice I reluctantly call the cops. I report the accident - and they agree to meet me @ the cafe for an interview. Steve says "You gotta try to sober up before they get here" and starts pouring coffee down me. Two hours later - a cop arrives. I am sober by now, but I make the mistake of admitting I had "one" beer before I assaulted the highway fence. AAA cancels my insurance, but at least I'm not charged with a classic DUI. Will always appreciate Steve's fatherly support that night. I was 24 but still had a lot of growing up to do. Then seven years or so ago my son and I visit Highland and my old home at 27164 Pacific Avenue. The street looks so different - where have all the trees gone? We go to the Belle for a couple of beers. We meet the charming and energetic Martha, who totally captivates us. She and I swap stories. The nostalgic memories flood into my brain - I can feel tears lurking just behind my eyes. Back when I lived in Highland and hung out at 6917 I wish I had realized that those were "the good old days" - I might have savored them even more. Sorry this entry is a little verbose - but hopefully it does justice to the big space that 6917 occupies in my heart. Mick Beeson - Yountville, Ca. For the mountain, it's solid, the bartenders are friendly, the drinks are good, and the food is decent. That said, my main concern is with the atmosphere. It's... fine. And that's exactly the problem. As most of us know, there's a serious lack of entertainment options up here, especially for people under 60. Despite the older demographic, there's still a sizable group of younger, creative, and social folks looking for something to do. Sure, you could be satisfied with a '70s rock cover band for the 100th time in the village, but if not, then Dogwood has the potential to be the go-to spot if it just puts in a bit more effort. The last event listed on your website was in 2019. The last Instagram post was over two months ago, and the one before that was for New Year's Eve.
