I'm sure there's more that I'm forgetting to mention. This was my favorite shop for tees in Tofino. They have a large selection from West Coast Tees, a Vancouver Island printer. The prices are fair and the staff was great. The shop owner gave us a couple of recommendations for Nanaimo.

We were impressed with some of the t-shirts and were trying to figure out what to buy. I was outside with the dog and my son while my wife scouted for shirts. We traded places briefly so I could see if there was something I would like. The clerk (likely the owner) was friendly when talking about the clothes, but excessively anal. Her store, I get it, but she was constantly harping on us to make sure our son didn't touch anything and to keep the dog far away. Fine. However, our little guy had to go pee, I yelled to my wife to come get the dog so I could take him to a restaurant nearby (remember, I had to stay clear of the house), she rushed out when she heard me, I turned to take my son to the restaurant but he had his shorts and underwear down and was peeing on the uncut grass near the fence border. He's special needs, hasn't done this before, mid-stream, how can I stop him? She was furious and accusatory, and our apologies made no difference. Sadly, we chose not to buy any shirts from there, but my wife in particular was incredibly upset at the attitude of the owner and her complete lack of understanding or tolerance to a child with a cognitive disability. Anyway, if it's worth it to you, they had the cheapest shirts of all the stores we went in to. Just a disappointing professional attitude.

Just visited this store, my 2 year old daughter (who is potty training may I add) said she had to…read morepee! Most people understand that when a kid this age say they have to pee, it means NOW. I asked very politely if they could make an exception to having no public washroom for my daughter having to pee, and they answer was NO, and that I could walk to another store to use their restroom a few minutes away. Within about 25 seconds, my daughter peed her pants. Thanks a lot DNA for not having common sense to make an exception now and again for kids. The one place in Courtenay that actually caters to my current look and fashion = alternative. I wish I knew how to walk in heels 'cause I feel in love with a pair of Zombie heels. The clothes are $$$, however, a lot of the clothes for the genre are well stitched and put together by some notable names in the fashion genre. I've had a pair of Trip NYC pants for 5 years with good wear. When you think about it it's better to spend a lot on something that will last rather than buying a few pairs of cheap pants. You end up really spending more for the cheap stuff in the long run than just investing in a piece right from the gate. If this is your primary style than I can see why this place would be expensive. I'm a working admin/book keeper, therefore, I only need a few pieces in this fashion line, therefore, investment is minimal. It does annoy me that some things are not tagged for pricing which is an indication that I will need to bring out the credit card. I find the staff very helpful.
