After waiting my turn and put in a room for another half hour the doctor finally entered. I was not certain if he was under the influence or not. As he fell asleep, talking to me. Needless to say it raised so many concerns that there was absolutely no way that this doctor was going to perform any kind of surgery on my eyes. I asked him if he was under the influence of drugs, as I have had too many experiences working with addicts. And that's exactly how we appeared to me was under the influence of opiates. Needless to say, I did not have the surgery performed at Conlan and I wouldn't recommend it to anybody else. It was a very disturbing experience and it left me very concerned. Unfortunately, I have lost the name of the doctor and I cannot find a picture of him on their website. So for all I know, he may no longer be working there.

I have been wearing glasses since I was ten, so know the struggle of changing prescriptions and having to purchase new glasses and/or contacts every year or two. Now at 23, I can't tell you how exciting it is to be free from that! It was such a pleasant surprise the first morning after surgery when I was going to my post-op and was about to grab my glasses and then thought, "oh wait, I can already see!" My vision was 20/20 the very next day! Kim, the Practice Administrator was always friendly and efficient in our communications. She responds quickly and professionally to any questions and is highly knowledgeable about LASIK. She was also flexible in scheduling, which is amazing considering how busy they are! The CEI team is warm, professional and thorough. Heidi has such a grounding personality and made me feel well-taken care of. She went through all of the pre and post op care really well and was welcome to any questions you may have. Dr. Prete is the optometrist in the office and he is professional and knowledgeable as you run through your testing. The techs are equally as friendly and knowledgeable so everything happens very smoothly! The day of the surgery, Heidi was once again soothing and ran through post-op care, which is really quite easy. It all comes in a nice little bag that makes it easy to keep track of. It included sunglasses to wear following the surgery, lubricating drops, two types of antibiotic drops, and eye shields for the first night. In the OR, Dr. Conlon and his team worked like a well-oiled machine. Honestly, the surgery is almost easier than any eye exam as it's not up to you to make sure not to blink! You also can't really tell what's going on as it just looks like a bunch of lights. It was over so quickly! They even give you stress balls, so you can squeeze those if you're nervous! Overall, I think LASIK is definitely worth it and I would certainly recommend at least getting a free consult from the Conlon Eye Institute and checking it out yourself!

The amount of time it takes can vary a lot, so I suggest parking under Midtown Plaza and walking the two blocks if you drive there, as your appointment may easily overrun the 90 minutes allowed for street parking. There are a lot of bike rings to lock up to outside if you arrive on a bicycle. This isn't a place you can get in and out of in a hurry, but if you're short of cash it's a great alternative to the quickie cheap haircut franchises.

We were told that we could not have our hands soaked or warmed up for cuticle work prior to shellac coating because of risk of infection. My mother does not have the greatest fingernails and being old and over 75, not the best feet either. But at this point when the cuticle pushing hurt her hand, I was hoping they would try to figure out another way to work on them. Several problems with my mother and her nails, from not curing them properly and having to redo polish, to seeing her esthetician become visibly irritated with her - left me feeling very regretful. It cost $346 (not including tips) for both my mother and I to have this pedi and mani shellac experience - and a few of my mother's finger nail tips chipped off the next day. I will chalk this up to experience and not ever return here. I know these are not easy jobs but this spa should - at these prices - ensure they have the best people working on their clients. A massage chair that most nail salons have would have even been a nice touch but not even that was on offer.

However, Andrea is moving on to work in B.C. but she talked about her replacement, Linda. Andrea says she fully trusts Linda and declares she is very skilled. Based on that, I wouldn't hesitate to book a Reiki session with Linda the next time I visit Saskatoon. I didn't drive around to see if the clinic has customer parking, as I was able to park on the street in a 2hr zone for free.
