I get my hair cut here because, frankly, I'm broke. It's a college for aspiring hairdressers, so they learn on your hair. As might be expected, the quality of the cut can be variable, but the instructors ensure that it's never terrible, and the price is very low ($17 for my shortish hair). You do have to sigh a waiver "Just in case they cut off an ear", as the receptionist puts it (she's kidding, I hope!) They also do other services, such as manicures, brow plucking, and colour. The amount of time it takes can vary a lot, so I suggest parking under Midtown Plaza and walking the two blocks if you drive there, as your appointment may easily overrun the 90 minutes allowed for street parking. There are a lot of bike rings to lock up to outside if you arrive on a bicycle. This isn't a place you can get in and out of in a hurry, but if you're short of cash it's a great alternative to the quickie cheap haircut franchises. read more

My sister was a student here for hairstyling and even though she has graduated I still go back because they do amazing jobs, the people are nice, the prices are cheap, and it helps them practice. The girls who do the waxing are very nice and make sure you are comfortable. I recommend all my friends to go there and I definitely recommend it to everyone else! read more

Booked an appointment a month in advance for four spa treatments, for two of us for my friends birthday. We showed up and the girl at front desk couldn't find our appointment in their computer and didn't try hard to find it at all. I suggested she look up with my phone number, but she wouldn't. All she did was stare at the computer screen looking very dense and saying I'm sorry. They did nothing to resolve the issue. My fiancé called to find out what was going on and then they suddenly found out appointment in the computer. They told my fiancé the person in charge would not be until Tuesday to deal with the issue. By Wednesday we still hadn't heard anything from them so I decided to write a review on their Facebook wall very similar to this review. They have now blocked me and my fiancé from their Facebook page and have yet to contact us. This places customer service is pretty ridiculous. It won't be the last time you hear from us either. Ignoring us only fuels our flame of angry and annoyance. read more
