If I could I would give 0 stars. I'm leaving this review because Sunsera recently purchased The Lemon Tree, and every stylist there walked out. They brought in John from Sunsera as a fill-in stylist, and he is the one who ruined my hair. I went in for blonde highlights. Instead, John turned my roots a very obvious light orange. My natural hair is brown, and the result was nothing like what I asked for. The roots were patchy, uneven, and impossible to hide. Afterward, the experience became even more frustrating. The salon was closed for three days straight, no one answered the phone, and no one returned a single call. I had to go to another salon because I needed to look presentable for work and couldn't walk around with orange roots. The second salon tried to fix it, but the color was so far off that they said I now need a full dye and highlight redo to correct it. I've already spent $120 at Lemon Tree and another $265 at the other salon, and my hair is STILL not fixed. Sunsera/Lemon Tree refused to take real responsibility. No apology, no correction, nothing helpful. They offered a $95 credit I will never use. They didn't provide any color-correcting products--no blue shampoo, nothing. I have photos of what my roots looked like before going to the second salon. This whole situation has been embarrassing, stressful, and unnecessarily expensive. If this is how Sunsera operates after taking over a salon, people deserve to know. I strongly recommend avoiding them. read more

I had really high hopes for this salon, cute on the outside and well equipped on the inside. I used a Groupon for a shellac mani and regular polish pedicure. It is clear now why the company needs to use Groupon to bring in business. The lady who did my mani pedi was great, however the quality of the services was subpar. Every single one of my shellac nails started pealing off within a day of my service where they usually last a minimum of 2 weeks and ended with me having to superglue the nails back into place for my bachelorette weekend - so sad - pictures below to prove. I had really considered returning to this spa exclusively after I was so happy with the initial service - after the lack of quality though I would not recommend this spa to others read more

My husband I got a groupon for foot detox and massage and massage chair for two. On saturday we went waited half an hour and then she only had time for one. We said no and had to come back sunday. The soak was nice but the massage chairs did not work, and we only had lotion rubbed on after. the girl was so tired from coming from night shift of her other job she appeared to have a hard time staying awake. Big waste of 100 dollars and that was a deal. Will never go back. Waste of time and money. read more

Inconsistent service. My mom gets a discount here with work so we all get our hair done here. Some of the ladies are wonderful and creative, others are unskilled and need to spent longer in school. It's not worth the price unless you know one of the girls there. Too much chance that you'll end up with someone bad. Last time we got out hair done the lady that did mine was really good and l loved the cut. Ali listened to all my advice and only changed things after asking me. My sister got her grad hair and makeup done and hated it. The make up professional was not working that day and instead of I canceling or letting us know, they had a hair stylist try to finish her makeup. She didn't leave her name or use any sanitary measures with the makeup! The hair stylist was not able to give my sister the style she asked for, even though she brought pictures. read more

I had a groupon for a mani pedi. TLDR terrible atmosphere and really sloppy work. Do not recommend. The water was soooo hot and it seemed like an inconvenience to keep trying to get the water cooler. No one told us where to pick our nail colours so after our feet had been soaking for 10 minutes we had to dry them and put our shoes back on. We were hoping for a relaxing experience but there was a kid running around, and apparently she's there all the time. And when she was bad the mom said "do you want to go sit in the car by yourself?!" What?? It's a four year old kid and winter, does she really do that?? With both the pedicure and manicure there is nail polish on my skin and cuticles, the colour is uneven, and the lines are a mess. It looks like a 6 year old painted my nails. I do a better job on my own. My toes smudged almost immediately because I was awkwardly trying to grab all my things and step down from the wet floor without falling. My finger nails have bubbles and bumps in them, and when she did the top coat parts of the nail were missed so I have random dull streaks. On both my hands and toes parts of the nail were missed. I had gone in with a friend and we booked the appointment together, but they worked at different paces so it was annoying we didn't actually get to experience it all together. When my friend was done the girl didn't even get her jacket for her from the back room so she had to wander through the store until she found it. read more

I went to the Stonebridge location. A few friends and I all bought a groupon for brazillian lazer hair removal (approx. 1000$ retail value). We did 6 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart as recommended. IT DOES NOT WORK. for months we went out of our way to make appointments, and went through the pain that lazer causes. not to mention this was a lot of money for us to spend. I had high hopes. The lady doing it was nice but should be told that it does not work. I do not recommend. incredible disappointing and a giant waste of time, money, and un-necessary pain. Its very irritating and I wish I had read a review before I went. read more

For clarification I went to the location on Clarence in Stonebridge. To start off this lovely story, I am relatively new to Saskatoon and was looking for a decent place to have my nails done. I decided Sunsera in Stonebridge looks nice! Yeah, it's nice and the people are friendly but worst set of nails I have ever had. I understand new sets take a certain amount of time but 2 hours? That is only the beginning to this tale. My nail "tech" was friendly, my age, but didn't seem to be qualified to be putting a set of nails on a client. My roller coaster ride starts off with lack of maintenance on my nails before my set goes on. My cuticles were out of shape and still remain out of shape after my adventure. As she is putting on my set I can kind of notice they might be uneven or not right but she still can buff that out right? That's what I thought. But not every mistake in life can be buffed out, just like this manicure. My nails are uneven shapes, lengths, widths and every other word you could think of to describe messed up. To top this lovely adventure off the set cost $85... I'm sorry but what? I am glad I at least got a nude colour so the city of Saskatoon would not have to burn their eyes out with these atrocious nails. But unfortunately I see them everyday. 10/10 would never recommend. read more

The staff at SunSera (8th street) seemed disorganized, unprofessional and unwilling to meet the needs of customers. I was shocked that a spa and its staff would conduct business in such a manner, Sunsera needs to get their shit together and start making their customers a priority. They also need to working on cleaning the place, it seemed dirty and there were dirty towels on the floor. read more

Been a patron here for a long time, having spent a great deal of money on services over the years. Phoned the 8th st location today to see what was up, as I noticed my location had apparently decided to close early upon arriving at 4:30pm (also super disappointing). The receptionist was so insanely unapologetic and dismissive to me over the phone that I was enraged! You don't represent one location, you represent them all, and today you just lost a customer. read more

Not going back! I was given an express spa package as a gift. When I phoned to book there was some sort of mix up and they phoned me repeated to ask what kind of appointment I had. Then when I got there they had booked me for only 1 thing. I had to come back 3 times over 4 days and they still didn't give me the full package! Beyond that, they did not try to give me the full package, they kept insisting that it was my fault, and they didn't know what I wanted. So frustrating. When I asked to speak to the manager Bernadette it she was Very RUDE! I'll never go back. They have no interest in ensuring client satisfaction. read more

I've been to Sunsera on 51st, and not only did they colour my hair incorrectly, but they made me pay for a colour correction. The botched hair colour job was NOT my fault in any way, and i called the very next day to complain. I got a consultation to get it fixed, and they did not ever mention the price. 2 days after getting my hair redone, they called and demanded i pay for the correction of THEIR mistake. Despicable business and customer service! read more

Do not book your massage at sunsera 8th street saskatoon location. It is complete waste of time. I had booked my massage and just couple of hours before appointment time, i get a call from RMT saying she can't do it today. Why? Because she has to go out of town. i called sunsera to see if they can fit me in wih someone else as today is my only day off and i really needed to massage, but reception is of no help at all , no courtesy in voice, bluntly said that she just rents a room at sunsera and we dont know anything else!! Wwoooww.. That's still sunsera.. Hellooooo!! Now i can't even find someone else in such short notice. If i would have read other reviews before, i would have never booked it. So use your mind and save your time!! read more

Sunsera Salons on 2nd Avenue Saskatoon. My daughter had gel nails put on, and two days later one fell off. We could not go in right away, but went in a week later as some of the others were cracking and another came off-painfully. We were told that she would repair the cracked ones and replace the ones that had come off. We had an appointment the next day, which they cancelled. Usually you can get in within no time to Sunsera, but for some reason she had nothing for over two weeks. I truly believe, that because they would not be receiving money for them, they didn't want to take the time. Well, I guess we will suck it up and try somewhere else. For the price you pay there, which is on average more than other places, you expect quality work and service. We did not get that this time. I do not recommend this establishment. read more

Went for a couples massage at the one on 8th and clearance. Worst massage i have ever had in my life. There was no music played for background noise so all i could hear was the blowdryers from the hairdresseres outside. It felt like the girls who gave the massage was scared to touch us. read more

I purchased a Groupon for a massage at this location. I called to inquire if the value of the Groupon was able to be transferred to another service (nails). The receptionist confirmed that you were able to do so. I let my wife know that she was able to take the Groupon to have her nails done. Once she went to provide the Groupon, she was told it wasn't valid for the service. "Our receptionist sometimes doesn't know" - was the answer she was given. This is not an acceptable answer and rejects all accountability. Please avoid this location as it provides poor customer service and misleading information. read more

I am not normally one to post negative reviews, but my experience with this salon over the last month makes me feel justified. After seeing a groupon for a month of tanning for $40, I was tempted to sign up for the monthly unlimited. Upon arriving, I was told that the groupon was only valid with payment of check form. As I do not carry checks with me on a daily basis, I ended up paying $60 for 100 mins of tanning "in any bed." After spending $20 more than I intended, I was forced to also buy the overpriced lotion and goggles. My experience in the last month is that these girls wouldn't know customer service if it hit them in the head. Never a smile, never a how are you, and NEVER a thank you. They make you feel like you are the biggest bother when in reality a tan is just a click of a button for them. (Well, it should also include cleaning of the tanning bed, but more often than not my bed had lotion smudges and I was lucky if they set a towel by the bed). Knowing that after 10+ sessions of anywhere from 5-10 mins I was getting low on mins I asked as I was leaving, how many mins I have left. The attendant told me 18. Today I went in with the intention of going two more times for 9 mins each. To my surprise the less than friendly front desk attendant told me I had no more minutes. I asked how this could be as I was just told two days prior I had 18. She tried to give some poor excuse that certain beds take double the minutes you tan in. This was hard to accept as that was never mentioned when I signed up. Plus a few seconds of mental math told me the excuse I was getting was a load of bull. I voiced my displeasure and left without any resolution. I refuse to give this corrupt business any more of my money. I hope this review encourages others to avoid SunSera at all costs! read more

Upon arriving we were greeted and helped by very friendly staff. My grandma, mom and myself were there to treat ourselves to pedicures on Valentine's Day. We didn't wait long before we were brought into the back room where all of our chairs were ready to go; things started off great. As soon as we sat in the pedicure chairs though you started to realize how dated and in desperate need of a makeover the salon was. The massage chairs were terrible! They basically just vibrated really loudly. As for the pedicure, I have to say it was mediocre at best, and for the price paid it shouldn't of been! One of the ladies doing my mom's feet was brought in that day from another Sunsera Salon but clearly was not trained at all in doing pedicures. My mom's pedicure took over 1/2 hour longer than ours, and my mom had to continually coach the lady along in what she kept missing. The lady just ended up not doing everything that is involved in a pedicure. The foot massages that accompanied our pedicures were fairly insignificant. Unfortunately, we left disappointment in the service and can tell you that we have all had better pedicures for the same price! read more
