I was going to have a city day after my appointment. However, I was so drained from the atmosphere and disappointment that i ended up just going home. This was just my experience, and it may be different for others. I would STRONGLY recommend (if you live close by) doing the consult beforehand and saving your self alot of money. I arrived early and was greeted by the receptionist. She did not seem to want to be there and was not friendly. She offered me water and I said yes. I went to the bathroom and the receptionist didnt even acknowledge me after that. My stylist was 15 mins late to my appointment (which is fine if that was the only thing). I explained what I wanted and was told that it was too high maintenece (I wanted coppery highlights). I was open to suggestions as I wanted a nice change especially going into fall. It had to be professional for my job however. I explained the cut that I wanted and then was told that the appointment that I had booked did not include any sort of cut (that was my fault, i assumed the price and length of time would include that but I guess i didnt read the services well enough). I was told that if she had time at the end then she might be able to cut my hair. She asked what I had done previously and I said I believe it had been a balayage. She nodded and said that she would lighten around my face a bit. I was pretty put off by the lack of conversation about what I wanted, and had foolishly assumed that she was going to go the warmer route with my hair. The salon itself is cute, but the atmosphere was draining. No one was talking and felt like no one wanted to be there (could have just been a bad day though). After the end of everything, my hair turned out horrible. I've never had such bad results on my hair before and left super upset. My hair is blonde blonde now (from a nice darker dirty blonde). With patches that don't match and my roots not being done. It honestly looks like a bad box dye using yellow food colouring. I feel like i have to wear a hat, and don't know what I am going to do at work where i cant wear a hat. It feels dry and burnt at parts so I have no idea on how I am going to fix this. I had been trying to stay more natural to my hair colour for awhile so I could add highlights and low lights to it while keeping it relatively healthy, and I believe that is ruined now for awhile. I feel that the stylist knew this, as she didn't offer my suggestions for products for my hair or stay while I paid. A trip to town that I was really looking forward to, and was going to treat myself turned into a horrible experience that in the end is going to cost me time and more money to try to fix. If I can without ruining my hair. I've learned a valuable lesson that I need to stay with my other salon even when they are crazy busy.

Milan honestly gave me the best haircut I've ever had in my life. Trained In Serbia Milan has brought traditional Barbery excellence to Saskatoon and area. One downfall was that I was growing an epic moustache and he took his clippers to it and cut it flush with my lip (hence the 4/5 rating.). That was a big no no, clippers should never be used on a long moustache. Scissors leave a much more natural look. If he hadn't cut my hair so well I would have complained. Milan is now my regular Barber.

My barber was Mark, an Irishman bringing his trade to Saskatoon. He was friendly and talkative and we chatted about all kinds of subjects. We talked about how old fashioned barber shops aren't common in Canada but are on the upswing. He really knew his stuff, and when I first started to explain what I wanted he asked a few questions to make sure he got things right and explained what he would do. At the end of the night he had helpful styling tips. We started off in the chair as Mark skillfully used the buzzers. Nothing's worse than a military style buzz cut, but this was a skillfully layered trim. He worked on my beard as well, which is a long and thick tangle, but again was skillful and delicate, making it look great. I got a hot washcloth layer on my face, head scrubbed in the sink and some scalp tonic and styling gel rubbed through. I left looking and feeling like a new man. The whole process was a little pricey, coming out to $57. But it was all worth it and I'm glad I went. You can even grab a drink on your way in. If you do guy, just remember that there is a unisex salon in one side and a men's barbershop in the other. If that matters to you you might want to specify when booking.

If I could give 0 star I would!…read more I am absolutely furious with The Lemon Tree. I went in for blonde highlights and walked out with orange hair. Not a slight warmth, not a subtle mistake--my entire head was toned into a blotchy orange mess by a fill-in stylist who clearly didn't know what he was doing. My natural hair is brown and I left looking awful. What made this even worse was their complete lack of responsibility afterward. The salon was closed for three days, they didn't answer any calls, and they didn't bother returning a single message. I was forced to go to another salon because I had to work and couldn't show up with light orange hair. The second salon tried to fix it, but the damage was so bad that it still needs a full dye and highlight redo. So far I've paid $120 at Lemon Tree and another $265 at the corrective appointment, and my hair is STILL not fixed. Lemon Tree's response? Nothing. No apology, no solution, no proper correction. Just a $95 "credit" that I will never use because I wouldn't trust them to touch my hair again. They didn't even have basic color correction products--no blue shampoo, nothing I could actually use to manage the mess they created. I have photos of the disaster they left me with. This whole experience has been humiliating, expensive, and completely avoidable if the salon cared even slightly about their clients. I would warn anyone considering this place: do not risk it.
