The Bob's Hog pizza with bbq sauce and meats, was really good. The Grand Canyon was good but the onions were a bit too plentiful for me and not quite cooked enough--still a bit crunchy. Our fault--we should have gotten it without onions. Caramelized onions would have been really good, but they aren't. Anyway, it was overall good pizza I'd enjoy again but it's so pricey that it's a specialty type of thing for us.

Ambiance - wood laden local pizza restaurant without the cookie cutter chain decor/vibe. Been going here off and on for decades. Food, service and atmosphere are spot on. This time we got the excellent and superb mozzarella sticks, with a crunchy batter, beautifully stretchy mozzarella, and a very better-than-average marinara sauce, Pizza was Fuzzy's Favorite - A double layer of Pepperoni and Mozzarella Cheese , with Classic Sauce, Fresh Red Peppers, Green Peppers, Cheddar Cheese and Oregano. With the classic crust option it fits perfectly between a thin crust and a rather thick crust. For those fans of "one bite everyone knows the rules", very little flop. Great combo of flavors between the sauce, pepperoni, peppers and cheese. Only petty complaint is a non copious amount of grease, bur not a small bit either.

We had the lumache alla norcina, spicy vodka radiatori, Caesar salad, focaccia, and tiramisu. Every dish was incredible. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the flavors instantly brought me back to our vacation in Italy. The Caesar salad was fresh and lightly dressed, which made it really enjoyable. The focaccia was baked to perfection with a crisp exterior and soft center. And the tiramisu? Easily one of the best I've ever had. The service was amazing, and the restaurant itself was so cute and quaint, making the whole experience even better.

Atmosphere: 4/5 This is ideal for dates (esp if you have reservations) but not for big groups. I think I would feel bad if I stayed there longer because of how tiny the space is. They have free street parking! Bathroom is so tiny but it was fun having a little "field trip" to get to it. Service: 4/5 It was great because I was not denied when I arrived. I was unaware of the rolling advanced reservations to be honest. I only found out about it once I started sharing on my social media that I got in without any reservations. I wish they respond on their social media too (especially when customers or potential customers send questions). Their phone number is non existent, so where else can we ask questions? Matcha: N/A

Since it was time for lunch and I was starving, I stopped in to try them. Walking in, you will see the counter and the cooks preparing food. The dining room is decorated nicely, which reminds you of a restaurant, not a To-Go restaurant like the entrance. I couldn't decide what to order, so I decided on the Taste of Italy, which includes cheese lasagna (I added the meat sauce), chicken spending, alfredo, and a stick of garlic bread. I couldn't resist ordering the chocolate mousse cake. Delish! REVIEW The sauce on the lasagna was full of spice and flavor, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The Chicken Spedini was tender with a strong garlic flavor (loved it!). The Alfredo had a creamy white sauce that reminded me of a smooth mac and cheese sauce, and the Chocolate Mousse Cake was so delicious! You must try it. The chocolate mousse had a soft, creamy, whipped texture that melted in my mouth. It had a smooth, chocolatey whipped flavor that tasted like the best chocolate ice cream I've ever eaten! I live in Raymore, but I'll drive back to NKC just to eat at this restaurant!

Avelluto's Pizzeria & Ristorante is my new favorite Italian restaurant…read more I was driving home from some appointments and stopped in for lunch. Avelluto's is located in Mission, in the same shopping complex as Rally House, Mud Pie, and a Wing Stop, and Tipsy's Liquor. It's a small place, maybe dozen tables. You place your order at the front counter. If you're dining in you get a number. I was taking away and got the Eggplant Parmigiana and Tiramisu. While waiting I saw people continuing to come in and order, then waiting for a tablets to open. I think most of the people were considerate enough to not linger after eating. So the turnover on the tables was pretty quick. The Eggplant Parmigiana was really good. The breading on the eggplant was crispy and well-seasoned, the spaghetti was perfectly cooked, the sauce was deceptively simple. I say deceptively because it was a straight marinara but wonderfully flavored. And the Tiramisu! The best Tiramisu I've had. I went back with FPO and got pizza by the slice, the Chicken Parmigiana, and a small Meatball with Rigatoni. And of course, another slice of Tiramisu. Everything was wonderful the second time too. That tells me they're consistent and I will be going back again. And probably again after that.

From the moment you walk in, it feels like stepping into a neighborhood deli back in Northeast. The smell alone tells you you're in the right place. The sandwiches? Huge. No skimping, no shortcuts. The meats are sliced right, the bread actually has character (crispy where it should be, soft inside), and everything tastes fresh and intentional. I ordered an Italian steak, and let me tell you--this is the kind of food that makes you close your eyes on the first bite. Perfect balance of meats, cheese, oil, and seasoning. Nothing overpowering, nothing missing. Just right. The staff is warm and welcoming, like they actually care if you enjoy your food (which matters). It's the kind of place where you feel comfortable, not rushed, and definitely well-fed. Johnny C's isn't trying to be trendy or fancy--it's doing what matters: good, honest deli food done right. If you're craving something that feels authentic and satisfying, this place delivers. I'll be back. And if I'm coming back, trust me--that's saying something.

KC Restaurant Week 2026 This was my first time visiting…read moreTrezo Mare and I'll definitely be returning, it's a great option for semi-formal dining in Braircliff. We went for later lunch and this place was crowded with diners, always a good sign. The lunch restaurant week menu really intrigued me because it was one of the 3 course options for $20. First course- luscious butternut squash soup One of my all time favorite soups and this one didn't disappoint, I love the autumnal flavors of this soup. The nuttiness shined through the silky smooth soup filled with the richness of cream. It was seasoned wonderfully balancing the inherent sweetness with the right amount of salt and herbs. I would drink this soup up by the gallon. Second course- Classic Chicken Picatta I loved how light this dish was, instead of being breaded it was tender moist chicken, yes it may look a little anemic but it wasn't lacking flavor. The bright lemon caper sauce brought like to the chicken. The abundance of capers made me so happy, they provided a tangy briny profile. The smooth as butter mashed potatoes just soaked up that succulent sauce and every bite had such a luscious mouth feel. This was an elevated comfort dish. Dessert- crème brûlée Now I'm not a dessert girl so I'm not a crème brûlée connoisseur but, it had a nice crackly sugar shell with a decadent eggy custard. The ripe berries were simple but added freshness to richness of the custard.

Odd. We appreciated the heads up however, I feel like they were really wanting us to turn around and leave as the restaurant seemed overwhelmed. We stayed as it was too late in day to go elsewhere. The kitchen was indeed backed up, no silverware provided had to ask, and our server said to order right away if we wanted to get our food. They were out of some items. Took 45 minutes for food to arrive. However, the staff was apologetic, even though it took awhile to be served the meal itself was acceptable --the pork chop, surf and turf, braised meat, and pizza were all hits. Server had to confirm with kitchen if they were still serving dessert, we were able to order. The desserts consisted of banana coconut pie which basically pudding & bananas in a bowl, tiramisu, and Keylime, all were just okay not worth $. The patio is beautiful and perfect for a nice day. It is very expensive, so we'll save it for special personal occasions not a national holiday/special day, but the food quality makes it worth a return visit.
