Great traditional pub with live sky sports and a pool table to the rear. A good quality pint. Worth a visit if passing.

The Spread Eagle, is considered one of the best establishments in Hereford. A great traditional…read moretown pub and restaurant, it's hugely popular with the locals as it regularly puts on live music, and does the best steaks as well as a variety of other food in town! Located in the centre of Hereford, virtually next door to the famous Cathedral, this historic 17th century building looks quite small & doesn't look much from the outside, but when you enter, you are met with an olde-worlde ambiance full of character and charm, with oak beams and old wooden floors. It stretches back a long way, and further continues up the old wooden staircase. There is also a huge beer garden which is great for the summer. It has a unique & largly varied menu with many of the dishes served here that I have'nt seen anywhere else. What's more, all are home-cooked - none of this brought-in rubbish from catering companies for them! My family & I often eat there whether it be for a lunch-time snack, evening meal or your traditional Sunday Dinner, and I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal - the cooking here is spectacular! The restaurant is always busy, so I highly recommend that you book in advance for Sunday lunch & weekends. And last but not least - There doesn't seem to be any mobile phone reception here, which in my opinion at least, can't be a bad thing - at least you can enjoy your meal in peace!

Just got back from spending a week in Hereford and we repeatedly came back to this place for the beer, food and company. I understand it had just changed management and ownership literally a couple weeks ago. The new people are awesome. I wish I could go back. If you're in Hereford and want a good pint, some good food, and good conversation, stop by.

All of my guests commented on how great the food was. It's all set up for a disco, but there are quieter spaces for those who just want to sit and catch up with old friends. A very friendly atmosphere. Being in the centre of town there are lots of car parks within easy walking distance.

It's a large pub right in the centre of town which actually is quite deceptive from the front as it looks quite small and traditional.. as you go in it opens up in to a huge eating area and has an extensive (and pleasant) beer garden out the back. I'm fairly sure this place is part of a chain but we weren't too bothered, we were just after a decent Sunday roast at this point ! SO to the menu.. On a Sunday you can have either chicken or beef (and Turkey at xmas) which is relatively limiting but once the food came we were definitely not disappointed. For £6.95 (that's right SIX NINETY FIVE) you got a huge serving of a very nice cut of beef cooked rare and still moist, mash, roast potatoes, peas, carrots, loads of cabbage, a homemade Yorkshire, lashings of gravy and a little tub of horse radish. It was brilliant ! Really cannot complain. In terms of other items on the menu, standard large chain pub grub. Big on burgers especially as everywhere seems to be nowadays ! Drinks are super cheap I bought 3 meals and 3 alcoholic drinks for about £27. Really can't go wrong. Good atmosphere, clean, friendly staff. Overall, very satisfying, we definitely got what we paid for :) very busy so be prepared to hunt for a table !

Bunch of Carrots is a classic & traditional English pub serving great food and meals between £7-£11/person. To start with: I had a Mortimr's Cider which was fantastic! The cider is the offers a sweetness from the apple, but not too sweet. For the entree, I had the "Carving Selection" which is an offering of fresh meats and roasts along with various sides. Today (1/05/16) they served roasted pork, veal, and beef along with traditional pudding, sausage, stuffing, potatoes, gravy, cheddar & broccoli, and so much more! All of the food was delicious and so flavorful!! While the food was great, what separates this place is the atmosphere! It's in a quaint old building full of character and charm. Everything in the building - the tables, the art, the ceilings - all contribute to the experience and take you back in time. If you're ever in the area, you have to stop by and check this place out!
