I have been going to Coastal Psychology in Savannah for 6 YEARS now, and I only finally met dr Silverman who knows how to do an actual psychological evaluation. It was well written, covered everything I need to know about my baby and how I can help him, and I don't have to flip around through the whole report to find what is actually important because there is a section at the end with all the numbers instead of jamming it all in there like filler! I can just read the dam thing instead of having these numbers that don't mean anything to me shoved in my face. Now I find out dr Silverman is being kicked out because his bosses, dr Nagelburg and dr Boachner, don't like how he writes. Let me tell you how they write: dr Nagelburgs evaluations were maybe 3 or 4 pages and most of it was tables and them telling me about the test they used (wtf do I care? Tell me about my BOY!) They spent a bunch of time telling me what color shirt my baby was wearing when he was tested and whether he wore a hat every time we came in. What does that have to do with why he can't sit still in class and is so angry? They also told me I had to get reevaluated every year or 2. That is what they told me. With dr Silverman I found out that's not true at all! A good report can last 7 years or more! How much money did I fork out because they were lazy writers? Dr Silvermans report was what he called integrative, so I not only learned my son has a hard time understanding what he hears, but how that makes it hard for him to talk to me, which is why he's been so angry, and what I can do to help him not only at school and home but in the future too! THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED 6 YEARS AGO! Why didn't anybody tell me this? How did dr Nagelburg miss that? He just said he was depressed, but never said WHY!!!A Dont go to Coastal Psychology. My husband started going to Atlantic Counseling Services a few months ago seeing Gloria. He has…read moreonly been twice. First time for the new patient appointment and then the next for a actual counseling visit. They've already canceled his scheduled appointments 3 times and on the day off. We work full time jobs so we schedule our days around appointments and things. My husband hasnt gone for weeks because they didn't have anything available. But he had his appointment scheduled for today at 4. They called him at 12:15 to see if he could come in sooner but he told them he couldn't he was busy at work and couldn't leave. They said that was fine and they'd see him at 4. Then they called him back 5 mins later saying that since he couldn't come in sooner they'd have to cancel his appointment. Because Gloria the counselor had her own appointment to go to so they needed him to come in sooner so she could leave. Then why did they schedule him this appointment time weeks ago?!? Sounds like to me she didn't have anything scheduled and didn't want to wait around until his apportionment. I get it things come up. But a 3rd cancelation in a few short months of going to them....? And other people's reviews say the same thing. (Too bad I didn't see it until now) Obviously counseling is pretty important when you need it and trying to go on a regular basis is important. This is all taking away of the actual part of going. Makes it stressful and very unorganized. Don't go here if you if you work a full time job and actually want to be seen at your scheduled time.
