You will quickly notice favoritism, particularly with the registrar. Be sure to pay your tuition in person, the registrar has been known to cancel classes by alleging that your tuition check arrived late. Many Professors at Brooklyn College have agendas to run. In addition to teaching, the typical Professor has a charity to support, a cause to support, or something to whine about. There are more Marxist's on the payroll at BC than anybody can count. BC is also a very competitive place. If you are in a Laboratory do not leave your experiment unattended. Students have been known to sabotage other students work. Do not share your written work with anyone. Plagiarism is a bad habit with the old guard at BC. Once upon a time BC was very well maintained, these days it is falling apart. There are serious issues in Boylan and James hall's. The Library clock has been broken for years. Where the maintenance money is going is a mystery to me. BC had some great Professors once upon a time. They have all retired, and alas some have passed. Hans Trefousse(History), Peter Brancazio(Physics), David Minars(Accounting), Jim Johnson(Speech), and John Blamire(Biology) are all gone. What you are stuck with these days are a bunch of antiquated buffoons that are totally out of touch with reality. Best of luck if you go, you may want to look for a job instead. There are a lot of businesses hiring now that the pandemic is under control. Why wait?

Stay away from this business and if you must interact with this business avoid contact with Leah…read moreshe engages in deceptive, bias and bait and switch business practices. She/this business will likely waste you time in the end.... I have been a licensed HHA since 2019 by the Department of Heath and currently attend college for Social Work and am a 4.0 college student and without a doubt dodged a bullet with potentially being trained with inaccurate information and or not all of the pertinent information as it pertains to the classes. If a program fails to provide basic pertinent information such as their will be a quiz during this orientation/ interview what else are they gonna leave out... That's dangerous and creates unprepared and potentially misinformed future EMT's I was invited to attend the Senior Care sponsored EMT program Orientation/ Interview in February of 2025 it was never mentioned that I would have to take a test and upon taking that test I scored a 9/10 and was invited to continue to interview with Senior Care on another day which it was never mentioned that their is a two part interview. I ended up getting covid and was unable to attend that second interview and had sent an email and requested to reschedule that second interview however, nobody replied to me. I signed up for the next sponsored orientation and was invited to attend again Thursday, May 22nd, 2025 and attended. There was no mention yet again that I was required to take the same test that I took last time I came in less than 6 months ago, Obviously I was not aiming to score high on the same test I was aiming to simply pass which I did and got a 7/10 not knowing that that this program does not accept those that score 8 or lower which I found out literally yesterday after I pressed Leah for the truth on the phone yesterday which is bias. Upon speaking to Leah on the phone yesterday I wanted to follow up and see if they would be letting me in this sponsored class and explained to her why I scored low and to advocate for myself to start the conversation off she stated " why did you call us for this you could have sent an email" I felt like saying well i would have if you guys had replied to my last one but kept it to myself. Long story short she stated that we do not accept people into the program who score 8 or below. I argued that passing is passing and that my college GPA and my healthcare experience should trump that exam which is logical and practical argument she indicated that they would not accept and being very cloak and dagger and I asked flat out are you accepting me into this program yes or no and she stated no. My time and money was wasted traveling from Far Rockaway. This program has no respect for my time at all but in the end I do not want to be associated with with a program that engages in the shady and bias business practices but in the end it worked out for the best. We received a run down on how the machine works, learned how to thread the machine and how to fill the bobbins. Then we made a denim tote bag. This was super easy and really fast. After lunch break is the 2nd project. If you don't have your fabric, the school can sell you fabric directly inside for $16 a yard. I bought my fabric elsewhere and brought it in. I honestly recommend doing this instead of buying it from them. Because you have to wash your fabric like how you wash your laundry regularly since it shrinks naturally. We picked our patterns and I made a skirt since a skirt is faster than pants. They recommended not to make pockets or else I'll run out of time. But I HAD to add pockets. Women's clothing have little or no pockets regularly. The instructors are extremely helpful and friendly. and they immediately notice if someone is struggling or stuck. This really impressed me. For example, when I was threading the bobbin, the spool of thread was running out. The teacher was immediately behind me with a brand new spool of the same color so I can swap it out when it was finished. That was a great eye for detail! Overall, highly recommend. Just bring in your own 3 yards of cotton fabric, already washed and dried, for the 2nd project!

Such a fun and worthwhile activity. Booking was super smooth, they were very responsive over email and it was easy to reserve a slot. I also love that they have multiple locations including 34th Street, Broadway (Brooklyn), and Montclair, NJ. Julian (JuJu) was an amazing instructor! Super outgoing, patient, and made the class such a fun experience from start to finish. I really appreciated how thorough he was when explaining each step, along with all the helpful tips and tricks throughout the class. We made tote bags, which are perfect for spring/summer, and I was so impressed with how they came out! I'll absolutely be back to try more courses. Highly recommend if you're looking for a cute solo activity or something fun to do with a friend!
