On one hand I was happy my seven year old would start getting a bit of independence but when I call her and she is by herself in a random part of a college, it was a bit concerning. The staff curses relentlessly in front of the children. We paid the same amount as the rest of the children but was definitely treated differently. There were barely anyone that looked like my daughter in this class if you grasp what I'm saying. She had to switch computers with another student because their computer was broken and she got the broken computer and had to sit there and do nothing for the class. Her teacher Bob yelled at her for asking to call home because she didn't feel comfortable. She then was scared to even ask to use the bathroom and cried. After asking for help or guidance multiple times her teacher ignored her and then told her to ask another student. The other student was also annoyed because he wanted to work on his own project. When bringing this up to the director Hal he decided to deflect and victim blame by saying she is always on her phone. After telling him she was using her phone because she had nothing to do with a Broken computer and teacher that ignores her he just asked "what outcome are you looking for". He was very dismissive and defended before even talking to his staff. I think these young staff members aren't trained to properly work with children of all colors especially but this was definitely an overpriced daycare. We won't be returning. Looking into taking thing further.

Ms. Brennan was the longest serving principal in New York History, and rarely failed to mention she became principal before the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge was completed. I don't remember seeing any of the usual social hierarchy tropes movies make you expect of middle school. Everyone existed in various shades of nerd. You had your band nerds (of which my trumpet playing self was a proud member), your drama nerds, and of course, your handball nerds. It was a good place to come of age, if such a place can exist. He then went on to the science program which is great because they do a lot of interesting and hands-on activities and experiments.
