My daughter is in the fifth grade and was always excellent in math until this year. She couldn't get the math if her life depended on it and since this common core has taken over, It seems that the 5th grade math is impossible. Since signing up with Eyelevel she has improved phenomenally! The tutors are excellent, friendly and super patient. In addition to being really flexible with scheduling, (which was super convenient) he really helped me get exactly what I wanted out of the essays & portfolio. His fixes were spot on and really strengthened my work. They weren't just cosmetic either, we did a lot of restructuring to support the root themes of the stories and make them better. I truly cannot imagine a better experience or a more encouraging teacher. A lot of other writing teachers I've had in the past get an idea in their head of how to fix a piece and try to steamroll you into executing it, but Alex was exactly the opposite! My vision was heard and supported at every step. Alex really took the time to understand me and my pieces, and they were better for it. This is not a place for wood hobbyist, so don't expect to work on some grand wood project. Brooklyn Woods is about training you for the workforce when means learning the fundamentals. Cutting straight, drilling straight, measuring accurately, learning tool safety. Christ is very knowledgeable instructor. Legend has it, at the age of 4 months; when baby Christ was given a set of wooden Alphabet blocks and his first sentence was "this is a diffuse-porous hardwood, probably American basswood" Honestly everyone in Brooklyn Woods is good people. It is a seven week program, 10/10 would do again.
