This is a cool place with plenty of plants and trees. They had a few plants that I have not seen at the big box stores, like lamb's ear, Mahonias etc. I am not saying that they are rare, but not often seen. I did not realize that Marvel Mahonia is spiky. I had my eyes on it for years and was hoping to plant it in my front yard. Now, I have changed my mind. They have a nice selection of hydrangeas and maple trees. Everything looked healthy and well cared for. The main reason I visited the store was to find a medium sized concrete statue for my yard. They have a really nice collection of garden decor items, hummingbird and bird feeders, yard ornaments and all. They also had concrete statues. I did not find anything I liked, but a good selection nonetheless. I ended up buying a few plants and I will be coming back for more for sure. read more

I purchased a red bud tree and paid $45 delivery fee and a $175 planting fee. After 2 weeks of them having my money, I called asked when it would be planted. The counter girl lied about when it would be planted. First the excuse was we don't have the crew, then it was they are waiting on a machine. I guess I hurt the counter girls feelings because she told me the conversation was over and that I needed to speak to her boss. He reiterated that he didn't have enough crew and needed to rent a machine and that he needed a few more trees to be sold so that it was cost effective to rent the machine so that I will be waiting for another week. This business has continually had crappy customer service and I will not give them another dime of my money. I will take my $500 and to go to a business that appreciates my patronage. read more

I have gardened for 30 years and know what I'm doing. The plant selections are quite good overall, although at times some plants are overpriced. However, the woman "in charge" is barely above rude. She hasn't got the time to deal with you, she's curt and very short in her answers. I think she is the manager and she needs some customer service training classes on pleasantries. Some people are helpful but I get the impression that if you are asking questions and they think you aren't going to buy from them, they dismiss you quickly. read more

The one person I saw who was working here was very knowledgeable, but it was very easy to get out of sight of anyone with an idea of what was happening. They had a great collection of unique annuals and seem to cater to the extremely experienced gardener. You know the type, the one who tries to bring up their beautification award in any strange way possible to get glowing praise and admiration from those of us who merely wrangle crabgrass. That's fine, because perhaps some day I will be on that gardening level. Until then, I think I will shop elsewhere and get some perennials that require less commitment on my part. I will quite likely get topsoil and/or mulch from here, though, as a garden guru friend has recommended them for their price and quality. read more

This is such a lovely spot in the heart of Highway 72 - an oasis of beauty amid the chain stores that dot the landscape. The selection of plants - flowers, herbs, shrubs, trees, etc. is just fantastic and browsing row after row of beautiful flowers is a fun way to pass an afternoon (or morning) dreaming of what's next? for your garden. I want to share a conversation I just had with the person answering the phone at "The Enchanted Forrest." I gave my name, explained that I have just moved back to Huntsville and wish to have someone prepare flower beds on three/four sides of my back yard with plantings of flowers, shrubs, trees. If I owned this business do you think I would be interested in a job that would be the size of this? YES! I mentioned to the same person that I also brought with me more than one hundred daylily plants of all colors, and perhaps I could trade the company for some other plants if they sell daylilies. Person answering the phone responded "I would have to talk to the owner about that, I can't make those kinds of decisions." I understand that. She went on the say "I can take your name and number and he can call you back." She never asked "When would be a good time for you to have the owner come out and see what you want to have done." Just took the name and phone number with "I will ask him to call you." Then, in effect, shut the conversation down. Guess it is just as well that the conversation did not continue because she "probably could not answer any other questions either. " I have numerous questions I wanted to ask. I will call someone else who hopefully can answer some questions and continue the conversation until I ask for an appointment, or end the conversation. Oops! I keep forgetting, things aren't like they "used to be." One does not have know anything to answer a phone. read more

bought 26 trees. We had a problem with 22 of them. The trees were supposed to be replaced and still have not been replaced. Have called back 6 times. I would not recommend this nursery as services and promises have not been fulfilled. Also, notice that their 1 year replacement says only "1" time...if you have additional issues they will not be replaced. I never I would be saying saying this ...Go to home depot or lowes where you can get replacements if needed in the first year without any hassle. read more

Disappointed with the customer service here. I typically enjoy local nurseries and prefer them over the big chains (Lowes or Home Depot). I anticipate that I will probably pay a little more, but if it comes with healthy plants and attentive customer service, I don't mind. I had a few questions about where I wanted to put my plants, but could get no one to help me. One lady who seemed to be "in charge" walked by me several times - usually on the phone, and gave me the "be with you in a sec" acknowledgement, but 10 minutes went by with nothing. A very nice young man finally offered to help me, but immediately was barked at by Miss "in charge" to go load something and then she never offered to replace him! I put my plants back, left angry, and will not be back. 2 stars for the helpful young man - I wish I had gotten his name. read more

Went in there for the first time today. Such a lovely place...EXCEPT for the female cashier that was talking bad about the customers.

I purchase many of my gardening supplies at The Enchanted Forest. Today, I called to order top soil, $34.00 for a sifted scoop. I would require the soil to be delievered with a charge of $35.00. Because their truck only holds 5 scoops I would need 2 truck loads. The Enchanted Forest is only 3 miles from my house. I thought the $35.00 charge was acceptable, but unlike the nursery 10 miles from my house who stated they would only charge me for 1 trip even though they would make 2, I think The Enchanted Forest double charge is very unreasonable. There are many wonderful garden centers in Huntsville and Madison and The Enchanted Forest has just lost a previous very loyal customer. Peggy S. read more

I feel it is only fair to Enchanted Forest to give an update. I think my reviews may have at least led to an understanding of my disappointment with the process of getting my tree replaced, July 2,2013 the owner of Enchanted Forest paid me a personal visit to make sure a new oak tree was planted in a good fashion and that I was happy with the replacement tree. I now have a live and beautiful oak tree in my front yard. To prove I am more than willing to give this business another go, after the tree was planted, I went down to Enchanted Forest Nursery and bought 5 mid size bushes. He told me they had a great selection of new plants in stock and he was absolutely right. I am happy with my new tree and with the 5 new shrubs. The employees at Enchanted Forest were a bit shocked to see me after the controversy I think. While no one was all smiles to see Mathe were polite and helpful so I am a happy patron now. Again, thank you Enchanted Forest for correcting my issue. read more
